Chapter 305: Chapter 305 To-Do List
The passionate look in his eyes made my heart flutter in my chest like a bird trapped in a cage.
"You don’t get to decide that, I intend to have a lot of people who will call me master," I said avoiding his eyes.
"So, our bond doesn’t mean that much to you?"
"Damon, can we please end this discussion?" I rubbed my temple, exhausted.
’I should be thinking of how to live my life before that fateful day. I have 29 days left, making a to-do list doesn’t sound like a bad plan.’
"Ember, are you even listening to me?" Damon’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
"What?"
"I said it is okay if you don’t want us to talk about it, but as my master, shouldn’t you start lecturing me?" He tilted his head with a look of mischievousness.
"On what?" I decided to give him a face.
Taken aback by my question, he appeared to be thinking of what to say, then his eyes lit up like a bulb. "Ahem." he cleared his throat, sitting on the couch again.
"There is something I want your opinion on," he looked at me waiting for a cue to continue. I sat on the far end of the couch, clasping my hands in front of me. Taking that as a cue he continued.
"The queen of the witches coven wants an alliance with us. I learnt that the Alpha of the Bloodmoon pack is working with the corrupted witches, and that was how they could enter our territory without being noticed. I hate the witches so much that the only thought I have of them is to rip their throat out, that is how much I despise them." He said in a solemn voice.
The fluttering of the curtains was the only sound in the room. I said nothing, waiting for him to continue.
"However, if the Bloodmoon pack is really working with the corrupted witches, then this battle will be more brutal than the one a century ago. The Lycans are almost extinct, and knowing the witches will bring other forces along, I doubt we have what it takes to win this battle." He sighed, his eyes becoming distant.
"If I accept the Queen’s offer, not only am I going against my vow, but I’ll disappoint those who died in the battle. But if I refuse, then perhaps, the Bloodshade pack will cease to exist, dying with its pride. What do you suggest I should do?" He turned to face me.
’I know he already knew what to do, but he was afraid to choose it. Deciding for him will not bring peace to his mind, he should be the one responsible for his decision. As his master, I can only guard him.’
"I understand where you are coming from." I began. "I believe you will make the right decision that is best for you and your people. You have two choices, and to be sure of what you want, you have to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of the two options. That is for example, if you choose to reject the offer, the good part is holding onto your belief like you said, and avoiding working with the creatures you hate, however there are two sides to the coin, and the downside of it is you might lose everything you have been fighting for." I paused so the weight of my words would linger in the air.
"Do the same thing if you were to accept the alliance. When one comes across two impossible choices, weighing them both and comparing them side by side will let you know which one matters to you more. And I believe you’ll make the right decision."
The room fell silent after my words, Damon’s hands clenched tightly into a fist, and he suddenly blew out a sigh of relief. "I know what to do now." He turned to me with one of the warmest smiles he had ever shown.
"Thank you, master. Your teaching was really eye-opening."
I pushed out my chest, tilting my chin up slightly. "You should be glad I took you as my pet, tell me where else would you find a master as smart as me?" I eloquently brushed a strand of hair from my face.
He chuckled at my words. "Nowhere else, you are the smartest master in the world." He rose to his feet, his eyes lingering on me for a second too long.
"Wait for me, master, I’ll be back."
"Where are you going?" The words came out of my mouth before I could stop them.
The single question made his eyes sparkle in satisfaction. "To the meeting, I need to let the elders know about my plan, so we can start preparing for... war." The last part left his lips reluctantly.
"Oh, okay. But are you going like that?" My eyes trailed from his face down to his well-sculptured chest, stained with blood.
He followed the line of my sight and grinned. "Don’t worry, they wouldn’t mind, and besides the blood is not mine." He winked at me before turning on his heels and heading to the door.
’What an arrogant bastard.’
I stood up, walking towards the study table, and I flopped myself on the chair in an unladylike manner. I sighed deeply as my mind wandered to the coming war.
"It is high time for me to make a to-do list." I nodded to myself and grabbed an empty parchment.
I took the ink pen from the side of the table and wrote
My To-Do List:
Eat all the delicacies in this realm.
See my parents one last time.
Be happy.
Walk down the aisle in a white dress and get married... (If possible.)
Have sex under the moonlight.
I pursed my lips into a pout the moment I reread what I wrote. There was nothing wrong with the thought of getting banged, after all my time is limited and my ovaries are screaming. In fact, there is nothing to be shy about.
With that newfound confidence, I continued writing.
Get banged every single fucking day. (It is highly needed.)
