Chapter 306 Bingo

Chapter 306: Chapter 306 Bingo

The pen hovered above the paper, and the look in my eyes slowly turned to sadness.

Writing the list made me realize how real the predicament was... I won’t be alive on the same day next month, I would really cease from existence.

The painful sting of reality made salty water trickle down my cheeks.

’I’m supposed to be happy, at least I have the time to fulfill my to-do list.’ A part of me tried to uplift my mood.

’But why can’t I just like others. Werewolves and fae are blessed with long lives, and I happened to be a hybrid of both... but my days are numbered.’ The bitter part of me said.

"This life was a borrowed one after all, there is no point in holding onto things," I said, but deep inside me there was a huge hole, filled with bitterness and pain.

’Why don’t you run away, if you do maybe you can live longer. It is not your obligation to give your life for the tree, after all you never asked for any of this. It’s your life, and you should live for yourself.’ A little devil whispered in my ears. And the little devil was none other than myself... my old self.

A part of me wondered, could I really do that? Could I really leave everything behind and watch the world plunge into chaos?

I sighed deeply, pushing the thoughts to the back of my mind.

I wiped the tears off my face with the back of my hand before putting on a smile.

The tip of the pen pressed against the paper gently as I continued scribbling on it.

Transform into my wolf form.

I would love to meet Lyla, at least give her the freedom to roam around the woods.

Thinking about her made a realization dawn on me. This body doesn’t just belong to me, it belongs to Lyla too. I wondered what her reaction would be when she learns that we are dying soon.

My eyes became distant, I felt bad for her, she was yet another victim plagued by my curse.

I set the pen down, and then my stomach suddenly made a grumbling noise, like thunder roaring through the sky.

"So embarrassing," I muttered under my breath.

’Comes whatever may come, enjoying is better than wallowing." I pursed my lips in agreement.

Without thinking twice, I made my way to the bathroom, freshening up before making my way out of the room.

I walked down the hallway, a line of creases finding its way on my forehead as I had no idea where Crystal was.

’Where the hell did he take her to?’ I wondered, as I initially wanted to have a meal with her.

There was only one way to find out and that was to ask the culprit in question.

I strutted towards the meeting room, my step faltered as I stood at the door.

’Should I wait for them to finish? It would be disrespectful for me to barge in, right?’

’Screw that, don’t forget you are his master now, so basically everyone should listen to you. Barge in your royal Majesty.’

A grin formed on my lips at that thought. And what is the point of acting cautiously when we have one life to live?

With the flick of my finger, the door slammed open. ’And on the record, I haven’t dealt with the hypocritical elders.’

All heads snapped towards my direction. Theo had a ’not again’ look, while Alaric looked exhausted, with dark circles around his eyes.

The title Panda suits him better. His hair was messy, and he looked like he would rather be anywhere but in the room.

Damon’s eyes sparkled like an excited puppy who is seeing his owner after a long time. Meanwhile, the elders were irritated by my presence.

"Get out, you are not welcome here." One of the elders growled in a condescending tone.

"Is that so?" I drawled in a teasing tone, making my way to the seat beside Alaric.

Another elder scrunched his nose in disgust. "Alpha, get rid of this Fae, we are discussing the welfare of the pack, and no outsider is welcome."

"Interesting, you are giving orders to your Alpha." I turned to Damon. "What are you going to do, Alpha?"

Damon’s lips curved slightly, but his eyes didn’t leave the elder who had spoken. The silence that followed was thick, a tension that made even the air feel heavy. The elder’s face twisted with defiance, clearly expecting Damon to agree with him.

Instead, Damon leaned back in his chair, resting an elbow on the armrest, his gaze still fixed on the man. "You seem to have forgotten your place." His tone was calm, but something dangerous simmered beneath it. "Who leads this pack, you, or me?"

The elder’s throat bobbed as he swallowed hard, eyes darting between us.

"Alpha, I meant no disrespect," he muttered.

"Good," Damon said. His eyes softened slightly when he turned to me. "She stays."

I smiled faintly, resting my chin on my palm. "See? That wasn’t so hard."

My eyes trailed over the old grumpy faces, then lingered on one of them. The moment Elder Dominic felt my gaze on him, his eyes locked with mine.

"Long time, old friend... or should I say old foe, remember me," I said, my tone detached and my face stoic.

I once thought a bond formed after enmity was the strongest, however, I was wrong.

Elder Dominic’s brows furrowed deeply, and he tilted his head to the side as if he couldn’t fathom what I was saying. Then a knowing glint flickered through his eyes.

"Ember?" His voice echoed across the room, the name causing the tension in the room to skyrocket.

Alaric and Theo turned to me, unable to believe their ears. They waited for me to confirm my identity like a child afraid of being found out for their mischievous deeds.

"Bingo." I clicked my tongue.

Gasps rumbled through the room, even the walls couldn’t keep them in.
