Chapter 304: Chapter 304 Crazy for You
Rhydian stepped forward, wings folding behind him. "You can’t claim her like some possession, Damon. She’s not your property."
I groaned, dragging a hand down my face. "And here we go again..."
Damon snarled, taking a step closer, his claws flexing. "She’s my mate."
Rhydian’s jaw tightened. "You think that word gives you ownership? She’s Fae-born, Damon. She belongs with..."
I threw my hands up. "ENOUGH!"
My voice echoed through the courtyard, sharp and loud enough to make even Theo wince dramatically.
The air around me rippled faintly with golden light but Damon didn’t even flinch. The glow flickers out the moment it brushes his skin.
’Of course it doesn’t work on him. Why would it? The universe clearly enjoys making me suffer.’
I marched straight up to them, shoving past Theo.
I stopped between them. Damon’s chest heaves, his breath hot, his scent wild, that heady mix of pine, musk, and fury. Rhydian smelled of earth after all rainfall, cold and sharp. The air crackles between them, thick with territorial energy.
"Do you two even realize how stupid you look right now?" I say, voice low but shaking with irritation. "You’ve destroyed half the city. You’ve scared everyone. And for what? To prove who I belonged to?"
Neither of them answered.
Damon’s eyes locked onto mine, his voice a low rumble. "He provoked me."
"Really?" I shoot back.
Rhydian actually had the nerve to smirk, but it vanished when I turned my glare on him. "And you. You couldn’t resist poking the wolf, could you?"
He looked away, his jaw tightening.
’Anyway, I can’t say I didn’t enjoy the fight, the two men who wronged me ended up teaching themselves a lesson.’
"Unbelievable," I muttered. "Do you both have a death wish, or just an inability to think?"
Theo let out a short laugh, whispering under his breath. "Maybe the first one."
I whipped my head around and glared at him. "Did I ask for your commentary?"
He lifted his hands in mock surrender, smirking. "No, Master."
Damon’s head snapped toward him instantly. He growled, his chest rumbling low, and dangerously. "What did you just call her?"
Theo’s grin faltered. "Uh..."
I quickly stepped between them again before Damon decided to add Theo’s name to his hit list. "He was being annoying. I made him say it."
Damon looked at me, his eyes narrowing, jaw flexing. "You made him?"
"Yes," I said flatly. "Do you plan to fight him too?"
He didn’t answer, he just kept staring at Theo like he was trying to decide which part of him to bite off first.
I crossed my arms across my chest. "Oh, for crying out loud. You’re all acting like rabid dogs."
"That’s offensive," Theo growled under his breath.
I shot him a glare. "And who said it is your turn to speak?"
His eyes narrowed at me. "That was rude, don’t speak to us like that. We are werewolves blessed by the moon goddess."
’More like a curse.’
I pinch the bridge of my nose, inhaling deeply. "I swear, you all are too much."
Damon’s hand brushes my arm, tentative but possessive. "I didn’t mean to make you mad, forgive me."
I lift my head slowly, narrowing my eyes. I was dumbfounded.
His lips twitch, as if my reaction was amusing to him.
Rhydian took a shaky breath. "I didn’t mean for it to go this far. I just..."
"...Wanted to assert dominance," I finished for him. "Congratulations. You both succeeded. You look like overgrown toddlers fighting for a toy."
Theo snorted. "That’s actually accurate."
I glare at him again. "Mr. Four eyes."
He glared back at me. "Miss. Panda eyes."
"Theo." One growl from Damon, made him look the other way.
"Mr. Four eyes take Rhydian to a guest room." My eyes locked onto Rhydian’s, and a look of displeasure flickered through his eyes.
"Rhydian, I’ll come see you after you are treated," I muttered, I turned to Damon, grabbing his hand. "You, come with me."
Without giving much time to think, I pulled him along as I headed back to our room.
The walk back was silent, and deafening to the ear.
When we arrived inside the room, I made him sit on the couch, while standing in front of him with my arms across my chest.
It was better for him to sit down, else he would tower over me if he stood, and then I’ll have to strain my neck to look at him. This way, it feels like he is submissive and I’m dominant... so much better.
Damon kept his eyes on me, his expression unreadable, but his fingers tightened around the edge of the couch.
His hair was tousled from the fight, strands falling across his forehead, the faintest trace of blood still marking his jawline. I wanted to wipe it away, but I folded my arms tighter instead.
"Do you have any idea how childish that was?" I asked, my tone calm, though inside, my pulse hadn’t stopped racing.
His gaze lifted slowly. "I couldn’t stand him looking at you that way."
"Looking at me?" I repeated. "He was trying to apologize."
Damon scoffed, looking away. "That’s not what it looked like to me, he even tried to hug you."
I murmured, half to myself. "He is a close friend, friends hug each other."
His head snapped toward me again, eyes softening. "When it comes to you, I don’t want anyone to touch you..." He rose to his feet, his eyes darkening. "Especially not him, I wanted to rip those hands off him... and not just him, anyone who dared to touch you will find their limbs flying midway... that’s how crazy you drive me."
The words caught me off guard. For a heartbeat, neither of us moved. The room felt smaller, quieter, like even the air was holding its breath.
"What? Don’t tell me you see me as your property and pet." I glared at him.
"No, never. Remember I’m the pet now." A playful grin formed on his lips. "As my master, I have to make sure you are untouchable, and..." He walked closer to me, every step he took sent shivers down my spine.
"... don’t let anyone call you master, it drives me crazy too."
