"No, I can accept you as my mother. In fact, after telling me the truth, I can genuinely feel a connection between us." He wasn’t lying. Kai felt as if his soul was connected to Cassie after she visited him last time.
He assumed that because she revealed the truth to him, his being was now trying to become a deity once more. He had felt the same way with Leo when he revealed himself to his father, but he chalked it up to their long friendship.

Kai nodded. "Maybe it does, but I want to live the way I want for now. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely want to regain my divine status, but I’m okay with waiting."
"But I can take you to our realm now!"

Cassie hesitated. That was something she was not able to do. Only Leo was able to do such a thing; everything in existence was simply a small part of his power.
"Don’t worry, I’m not asking this to make you feel bad or anything, but I was just wondering if you could. I’ll join you eventually anyway, what’s a few thousand more years to an eternal being like you?"
Cassie grabbed Kai’s hand. "You don’t understand, my sweet. I have been deprived of your existence for a billion years! Cassie thought about it. She did plan on visiting Kai often, but she didn’t like being in a world filled with mortals. For Kai, though, she might make the exception. But she didn’t care for Kai’s children since they would be mortals.
Kai wasn’t bothered by her lack of interest in his children.
He left the mansion and headed out into the city to get something to eat. He wanted to try the local cuisine and take his girls out later.

"Why would I eat your mortal food?"

Cassie folded instantly. "Fine, I shall try this mortal food. It better be to my liking or I will destroy this planet."
Kai busted out laughing, not knowing if she was joking or not. "Ha, maybe we shouldn’t eat out then."

"Hmm, what are you talking about?" Kai took a step back, walking backward as he looked over his mother’s shoulder to see what she was talking about.
There were eleven posters on a board that said ’High Priority,’ and it was pictures of Kai and his crew.
