Chapter 317: The Beast? More like the Cub
The beast wasted no time and attacked Kai so fast with a kick that it generated enough wind to cut through stone
"Whoa! Are you sure this guy isn’t using mana? How the hell is he so strong?" Of course, Kai wouldn’t have an issue beating this guy, but he didn’t expect him to be so strong while being limited by the mana-neutalizing cuffs.
"You are a weak bug for me to squash."
"You could just say that you want to kill me."
The beast attacked once more, his body moving as if he were drunk with his wide and loose attacks. He didn’t attack as if he had power, but attacked as if he simply needed to attack.
It was weird fighting someone like this since Kai had never encountered anyone with this fighting style. When he thought the beast would sweep at his legs, the beast would instead re-angle his leg to kick at his face.
While Kai could see everything that was going on in slow motion, he still had to adjust and adapt to the fighting style. He also made sure to memorize the moves so he could incorporate them into his fighting style.
"Can all you do is dodge?!" The beast growled as he continued to attack Kai, only for his punches and kicks to miss.
"Ha, if you were so good, then you would have hit me by now. Don’t get upset since you aren’t able to land a hit, bitch!" Kai grabbed the Beast’s leg the punched the guy in the chest.
He made sure to hold back, not wanting to kill the guy in one blow. Still, the punch was enough to wind the beast, forcing him to gather more air into his lungs before they continued with their fight.
"What’s going on?"
"We want a fight!"
"Stop playing around!"
"I wanna see blood!"
"Kill each other!"
Sweatii was also not enjoying how the fight was going. He commended Kai for being able to dodge well as well as landing a blow on the beast, but he wanted blood, he wanted guts, and he wanted a real fight.
"While I have to acknowledge your ability to run away, Kai, this isn’t entertaining for my fellow brothers and sisters." Sweatti’s voice boomed across the arena.
"And? Why should I care about your entertainment?"
"There were people like you who stepped foot into this arena." Sweatii pointed to a wall across the arena. "That’s what became of them."
On the wall were the skulls of hundreds of people who fought in the arena and didn’t do what Sweatii demanded them to do.
"Oh no, skulls, I’m so scared. What will I do to not be placed on that wall?"
Everyone knew Kai was being sarcastic, but they didn’t let their anger take over, at least most of them didn’t.
"Your arrogance will be your downfall."
"The only thing that’s falling down is...I actually don’t have anything cool to say, so I’ll get back to you later." Kai cursed himself for not being quick with a rebuttal.
"Beast. I want him dead. And if you keep dodging, Kai, I’ll kill you myself."
"Do it, pussy!"
The sound of gasps echoed through the arena. Heads turned to face their Pirate to see what his reaction would be. Even the beast was shocked by Kai’s response and commended Kai for having balls, but those balls would get him killed.
"Heh, heheh, is that a challenge?"
"Are you scared?"
"I’M NOT SCARED OF ANYONE!" The shift in Sweatii’s demeanor caught everyone off guard. He was always a Pirate who ruled by strength, but he wasn’t quick to snap like this.
"Ahem. If you beat the beast, which you wont, I’ll gladly face off against you, bug. But until then, fight to the death."
The beast lunged at Kai, winding his arm back for a punch, but when his fist was about to collide with Kai’s face, his wrist was grabbed, and then his arm was bent irregularly.
"Arghhh! Fuck! My arm!"
"More than just your arm is gonna be broken!" Still holding the broken arm, Kai yanked the beast toward him, clobering the man in the chest, shattering his chest bone.
As he was tumbling away, Kai appeared behind him, kicking the beast in the back, knocking him in the opposite direction.
In the blink of an eye, Kai was already in front of the beast, grabbed his face, and slammed him into the ground so hard that he bounced up, so Kai then stomped on him to make sure he didn’t bounce again.
"Oughhhh! Nnghhh!" Groaning in pain, the beast was broken all over. Blood poured down his face, and his limbs were not in their proper spots. Kai’s foot also made it hard to breathe as the pressure kept getting harder and harder.
"Oh wow! Why don’t you look at this, Sweatii! It seems like I’m the victor!" Kai crushed the beast’s chest, killing him in the process.
"Now get your sweaty ass down here!" Instant regret formed on Kai’s face.
’Fuck! That sounded a lot better in my head!’
Sweatii was furious. The beast was one of their best fighters, one of their strongest fighters, but Kai made him look like a joke. His anger was so apparent that his face turned red.
"Fine! You want a fight? I’ll give you one!" Sweatii lept out of the stands and into the battle area with a loud boom.
He stared Kai in the face and released his ferocious aura and equipped armor.
"Ready to die, you weak ant?"
Kai held up his hand, telling the sweaty bastard to wait. "Hold on a second, we have to wait for the signal."
"Huh? What signal?"
BOOOOOOOOM
The entire area started cracking as an explosion destroyed its foundation. People started panicking as they ran to safety, trampling over others in the process. They screamed at the top of their lungs, and some of them were even crushed by falling debris from the arena caving in on its own weight.
"That signal." A maniacal grin formed on Kai’s face, making Sweatii question who the real demon was.
