Chapter 318: People explode, by the way
Around 2 minutes before the explosion, Kai’s crew was waiting patiently for the signal. They could hear the faint cheering from the arena that came from above and wondered if Kai was purposely getting beaten or if he was dominating the match.
"Ugh, when is this person coming?!" Amaya was tired of waiting and wanted to leave now. All of them were strong enough to break out, but they needed to wait for the signal before they could do anything.
"Be patient, Amaya, Kai wont let us down." Though Gwen said that, she was also getting restless and wanted to leave that cramped cell.
"You bitches are so impatient. My husband is the greatest, and if he says we wait, then we wait. This is why you all aren’t having his kids first, and I’ll be the main wife." Karumi made sure to assert her dominance over the other girls in Kai’s harem to have them know their place.
"Excuse me? I’ll have you know that Kai loves me the best!" Kyana was not going to let what Karumi said slide.
Nadya rolled her eyes. "Here we go again."
Fortunately, before they could start arguing, a man, not just any man, but the pirate who placed them in the cell, appeared.
"Oh, look, it’s that guy. What’s his name again? Oh yeah, Pirate!"
"Yes, Amaya, his name is Pirate."
Pirate...I mean, the pirate had no idea what he was doing there. He was just working like he normally did, then suddenly, he made his way to the cells. He had no idea why he came here, but here he was.
"U-Uh, you prisoners better be quiet!" He had no idea what to say, so he just said that.
Sasha gave him a weird look. "Is he the signal?"
Nadya shrugged. "Dunno."
"He has an X on his head." Barry pointed out.
"You don’t say."
Gwen closely looked at the man and noticed that his eye was twitching. Then, his face started to contort as if his insides were boiling.
"Uhh, guys, think this guy is the signal!"
Amaya looked the guy up and down. "How? He doesn’t even have a bomb on him."
"I think he IS the bomb!"
Sasha outright disagreed instantly. "Nah, he’s not cool at all."
"No! I mean, he’s going to blow up!"
"Ohh!"
Nadya quickly formed a barrier around everyone, Patty doing the same as well. Then, Sasha activated her shield to protect them all even further.
The pirate’s body started contorting like crazy until the point where his body erupted into a massive explosion of raw energy that ripped a hole in the entire pirate base and shattered the foundation of the arena above them.
"That was one disgusting signal."
"Freedom!" Amaya wasted no time and started slaughtering pirates with X’s on their heads.
Gwen stepped forward. "Follow the cat!"
"Yeahh!"
All of them started wreaking havoc.
---
"What did you do?" Sweatii demanded to know.
"There are a lot of things that I’ve done. Please be more specific."
"Don’t give me that shit! What the fuck did you do to my base?!"
"Ohhh, that. I just blew someone up. You know, that’s kind of becoming a thing I do pretty often. Would you like to know how it feels?"
"Fucking monkey." A whip of demonic energy wrapped around Kai’s arm. Sweatii yanked it toward him, pulling Kai in his direction. Winding back his fist, he attempted to strike Kai in the face, but he easily maneuvered over the demon’s fist and landed behind him.
"Safe! 10/10 scores. Clap it up for me!" Kai bowed to the fleeing crowd.
"Killing you will feel really good." Sweatii cracked his neck and then started walking towards Kai slowly.
"Will it? I’m sure your father will be sad when I arrive at his doorstep with your head as a present."
"Hahaha! My father is the most powerful person there is. Even that weak bitch of a goddess is scared of him. And once I’m done with you, I’ll find that stupid hero and kill him with my bare hands."
While Sweatii was talking, Kai was writing something down in a notepad.
"What are you doing?"
"Keeping track," Kai responded.
"Keeping track of what?"
"I’m keeping track of the number of times you said classic villain lines. You people really don’t like to change things up. I mean, if it’s not broke, then don’t fix it, but it’s getting kind of old at this point, don’t you think?"
Sweatii didn’t even respond and went right in for the attack. His claws tore through the air, leaving crimson trails of demonic energy. Kai barely dodged, the force of the swing blasting chunks of earth from the ground.
"You run well for a monkey, I’ll give you that!" Sweatii snarled, his jagged teeth gleaming with malice.
Kai grinned, cracking his neck. "Run? Nah, just warming up. Don’t wanna embarrass you too fast, you know?"
That made the demon’s veins pulse with rage. He roared, summoning a black firestorm that swallowed Kai whole. The explosion rocked the arena, scorching the ground into glass. When the smoke cleared, Kai lay sprawled on the dirt, clothes torn, skin smoking.
Sweatii laughed, a low, guttural sound. "Pathetic! You call that strength?"
Kai coughed, pushing himself up slowly. "Ow. Okay, that one actually stung a little." He brushed himself off, squinting up at the demon. "You always this grumpy, or did you just skip breakfast? Oh, wait, I get it. You’re probably upset that you didn’t get to nut in those girls you had in your room earlier. No wonder you’re so cranky. You have blueballs."
Sweatii’s eyes flared blood-red. "Mock me again, and I’ll tear your soul apart!"
He lunged, claws aimed for Kai’s heart, but this time, Kai caught his wrist mid-swing. The shock in Sweatii’s face was instant. Kai’s grin widened. "Alright, enough foreplay."
With a flick of his arm, he hurled Sweatii across the field like a rag doll. The demon smashed through the stands, leaving a crater when he landed. Before Sweatii could rise, Kai appeared above him, knee driving straight into his gut, the impact shaking the ground.
