Chapter 310: That’s a lot of ships
After having a good rest with all of his girls, even Cornelia, Kai teleported out of bed to avoid waking any of them up. He stretched his body, feeling refreshed, and went to the deck.
There, he saw Barry looking over the side, clearly thinking about something. Kai approached him and slapped the guy on the back.
"What’s up, Barry. Slept well?"
"Hey, and yeah."
"I wanna apologize for beating you up, cutting off your arm, and taking out your eye."
Barry shrugged. "It’s okay. You were mind-controlled, so it wasn’t your fault. When I was mind-controlled, you helped me out, so it was only right that I repay the favor. Though I can’t say I was that helpful."
"Well, you kept fighting when it was pointless, so that means something."
Barry smiled. "Thanks."
"Is there anyone you like? Patty or Iris, maybe?"
"Huh? Heck no! Haha, where did you get that idea from?" Barry was taken off guard by Kai’s question, but he understood why Kai would think he liked one of them. But the truth was that he only saw them as friends, nothing more.
"Really? I thought you were interested in at least Patty."
"Nope. She’s just a good friend."
’What the fuck? So I wasn’t cucking him? Bummer. I even got the two of them pregnant to truly rub it in.’
"There is someone I like, though."
Kai’s ear expanded like a cartoon character to hear what Barry was going to say.
"Back at home, there is this girl. I promised that I would propose to her after I beat the demon king. She’s the one I love."
Kai made a mental note to meet this girl after they kill the demon king. Why? Because Kai was a huge dick, that’s why. And he was proud.
---
"He said he met Narwhal and that he was looking for a man named Nemean. Honey, this is more dangerous than we thought." Cassie immediately informed Leo of what Kai had told her, and she was not in a good mood.
"Nemean? I haven’t heard that name in a long time."
"It’s been over a billion years." Cassie nodded.
"Well, if Narwhal is looking for Nemean, then that means he currently doesn’t know the state of the infinite verse right now."
Cassise didn’t care about that. "What he knows doesn’t matter; it’s what he’s trying to do! He thought Kai had the blood of Nemean!"
Leo looked at Cassie, wondering why she didn’t tell him this right away. "Did he find out?"
"No, he didn’t. Thankfully, Kai is mortal, so he wont be producing that energy. But the fact that he felt traces of it means he has his eyes on the planet our little Kai is on. This also means he might sense Kai’s children."
Leo shook his head. "After that incident with Kai being mind-controlled, I protected all of his women. They shouldn’t be able to feel Nemean’s blood from them anymore. As for Narwhal, it’s clear that he’s trying to free Aion."
Cassie had come to the same conclusion. "We need to visit the followers of Nemean."
Leo made a portal to travel to the places where people still worship Nemean, but before he stepped in, he stopped.
"What? What’s wrong?" Cassie asked, wondering why he didn’t enter the portal.
"They’re dead. I could only sense it now. Why?" Nothing could escape Leo’s sight, but for some reason, he couldn’t even see that the followers of Nemean were dead until he set his sights on them.
"How? You can see everything. Stop limiting yourself and just peer into time. See what happened, what is happening, and what will happen."
Doing as his wife commanded, Leo looked in all directions of time, but the past, present, and future were all fuzzy. He could get the gist of what happened, but he couldn’t directly see what happened. It was as if something was blocking his vision.
He told Cassie this, but she was confused. Nothing could stop him from seeing things unless it was Progenitor energy, and even then, he could still see things, but it was only fuzzy.
"The Lion Locket."
Cassie scrunched her brows. "The trinket you made for Aion?"
"Yes. It was something I made for him that would prevent me from seeing what he was doing. He said he liked his privacy, and I respected it. However, it was lost after he declared war on me. Or at least I thought it was. That Locket is the only thing that can truly block out my power of divine sight."
"This is a problem. Let’s investigate things further."
Leo agreed, then disappeared.
---
"Okay, so I understand why the pirates didn’t follow us. The river led us to their backyard. However, unless I’m seeing things, that’s a lot of fucking ships!"
"See, Kai! See! This is why I didn’t want to mess with them! Just look at that fleet! We’re fucking dead! Their leader is super freaking strong!"
The river led to the back side of a pirate base. These pirates were the same ones who chased Kai and his crew while putting out wanted posters of them. Even the ship that was following them was in sight off in the distance.
"Damn, how many ships are there?" Barry was freaking out. Even though he was the hero, he was still scared of messing with the wrong people without being prepared.
"I’m counting at least 1,000. And it looks like they are aiming their cannons at us. Haha! Barry, hold on, they are about to attack. I have to wake up the others."
"No! We need to get out of here. I finally remember who those flags belong to. They’re the Sweatii Pirates! They are known for their ruthlessness!"
"Dude, stop being a little bitch. We’re here now, so let’s deal with these clowns. You’re he hero! Do you know how much merit you’ll get from taking out all of them? A fuck ton! And if we take out their boss, then that’s even better. Besides, they’re not gonna attack us on sig-"
BOOOOOOOOOOOM
