Chapter 311: The Sweatii Pirates
"Direct Hit!" A pirate shouted, looking through a telescope. They had launched over 200 cannonballs at Kai’s ship, and out of all of them, 50 managed to hit the ship.
"Good work. We don’t know if that was enough to kill them, but their ship should be destroyed now. First fleet, block the exit so they cant escape, second fleet, surround them, and third fleet, be ready for anything. They have a hero with them, so things could get tough."
The person who was speaking was the third in command of the entire Sweatii Pirates. After getting the information that the hero was close by, he ordered all of the Sweatii Pirates to regroup back at the base so they could launch a full-scale attack on him.
This is why Kai’s crew never encountered a Pirate after their chase. While they didn’t know that the stream they took would lead them to the back side of the Pirates’ base, even if they took another route, they still wouldn’t have run into them.
"We’ve completed what you asked us to do, Sir Karlmine. What’s your next order?"
Karlmine told them to wait until they got a clear visual. He wanted to make sure Kai’s crew was actually hurt and not waiting to catch them off guard.
Back on the ship, Kai held up his hands in defeat since the pirates actually did attack them. Barry looked at him as if he owed him money.
"What the heck is happening up here?" All of the girls, woken up by the explosions, walked onto the deck and looked around.
There was a lot of smoke that blocked everyone’s vision, preventing them from seeing what was going on except for Kai. He could see through the smoke.
"Hey, girls. Don’t worry, we’re just being attacked right now." Kai hugged his girls, who didn’t wake up when he did. They asked if he was alright, and he told them that he was.
It was comforting to hear them worry about him, even though he was the one who hurt them. Whether it was hypnosis or genuine, he didn’t care. The feeling was nice regardless.
"Why are we being attacked?" Amaya jumped onto the crow’s nest, but she wasn’t able to see anything because of the dust.
"We sort of, maybe, kind of, most definitely stumbled into the lair of the Sweatii Pirates."
Iris, Patty, and Cornelia turned to Kai and Barry with extreme fear in their eyes. Everyone in Eridani knows who the Sweatii Pirates were, and anyone would be stupid to mess with them.
"Y-You’re telling me that we messed with the Sweatii Pirates?" Cornelia recalled her pirate days and how her mentors told her to never get on their bad side. They were ruthless and cruel.
They also functioned as their own independent government, not because the King gave them that authority, but because they were so strong that the King couldn’t do anything about it.
"Are you out of your mind?!" Cornelia nearly fainted.
"Well, technically, I wanted to run away. It was these girls who attacked the pirates." Kai had no problem throwing his girls under the bus
"Excuse me? You were the one who killed Jarl and allowed that messenger to report back to these clowns!" Kyana was not about to take Kai’s bullshit.
"Then there’s only one thing we can do."
Kai nodded to his girls. "Group huddle!"
"Okay, so what’s the plan?" Kai asked all of them.
"The classic. Let’s take them out." Gwem had already shifted into her dragon form.
"I agree! Let’s kill all of them brutally! I want blood!"
Kai expected that reaction from Amaya, so did the rest of them.
"What if we make the ship invisible and sail past all of them and attack them from behind. They won’t even know what hit them!"
Kai actually thought that was pretty cool. "I’ll put that on the list, Sasha. Good suggestion.
"I got it. I got it. We’ll rain down a bunch of-"
Kai interrupted Kyana. "Anyway, Nadya, what do you think?"
"Hey! I wasn’t finished!"
"We can just do whatever. I don’t care."
"Cool. Cornelia?"
"Ummm. I want to leave. Is that an option?"
Amaya snorted. "Pussy."
"Says the cat."
"Husband! What if we act like we surrender?" Karumi was fitting in perfectly, coming up with great ideas without even being here for a long time.
"Lame."
"No way."
"Pass."
"Hold up, let her cook. Continue, Karumi."
"We should surrender, have them take us in, then we reveal that we actually didn’t surrender, and we kill them all."
Kai was sold. "We’re going with that plan! I freaking love it."
"Aw, come on! Mine was better, with the invisibility."
Sasha’s plan was great in Kai’s opinion, but the idea of acting weak just to catch their capturers off guard was freaking awesome to him. This also worked in their favor as it would allow them to meet with the captain of the Sweatii Pirates without raising any alarms.
"We’ll do your plan next time." He reassured her.
"Look alive, everyone, we’re about to surrender. Here’s the plan."
"We heard it," Barry spoke up before Kai continued.
"Yeah, you all were pretty loud."
"What? Nadya, why didn’t you tell me?"
She pointed at herself, wondering why he was calling her out. "Me? What did I do?"
"You were supposed to put up a barrier to prevent others from listening in on us!"
"You can do the same thing, Kai. Why are you getting on me about it?"
Kai couldn’t help himself. He busted out laughing and hugged Nadya tightly.
"I’m just messing with you, babe. I know we could be heard. That’s what makes it funny."
"We should hurry up." Iris pointed upward. "The dust is settling, and they will come soon."
"Okay, everyone, look alive. Time to put on your best performances!" Kai clapped his hands, and the ship disappeared, dunking all of them into the water.
He created an illusion that made them all look as if they were injured by the explosions, and he created a scene on the water to look as if their ship had been destroyed using his creation ability.
Now, all they needed to do was wait...and hope Kyana didn’t panic because it looked as if she did not know how to swim.
