Chapter 1470: Creating Arthur’s Companion

"A pet then... Doesn’t sound so bad..." Arthur said. "Sure!"
"Nice! Then, what do you want? Plants? Dinos? Other things? Oh, maybe the mosquitoes?" I asked.
"Honestly a big bulky thing wouldn’t fit my fighting style..." he said, as he hit another monster as it came to him. "I want some sort of specter that can shift its body, adapt to my fast movements and come along with me, protecting my back..."
"Oho! A ghost then!" I nodded. "Okay, your big sis is on the work! We’ll make a big, scary specter, super strong with many souls, hehehe!"
As I giggled, I raised my hands, darkness, nether, and nightmare power combined, swirling like a pitch-black sphere, as it began collecting dozens of Nightmare Beast Souls one after another.
"{Soul Binding Synthesis}!"
Using my Soul Binding Alchemy Skill and my Death Creation Skill, I combined the souls and then infected them with a "curse", turning them into a spectral, chimeric beast.
"No, too ugly for my brother... let’s see... Yes, take that form! Take these."
I fed the giant specter the souls of vampires I had stored, which made it transform into a more humanoid being, resembling a gigantic, multi-armed vampiric knight, covered with black armor made of shadows shaped like countless beasts.
"W-Woah! Isn’t this way too much for me?!" Arthur gasped. "Sister! This is going overboard already!"
"Hahah! What are you saying? This is just perfect for my baby brother!" I said. "You should be grateful your sister loves to spoil you! Alright, give him a name!"
"GRRRHHH!" The giant specter roared at him.
"E-Eh? A-A name... Uh... Igris?" Arthur muttered. "W-We used to have a knight guard that was named like that... He died protecting us."
"Igris! Ah... yes, I do remember him, he was a nice man, like an uncle to us," I nodded. "Alright, that’s your new name, you’ll be my brother’s familiar. Always protect him and obey him, okay? You’re carrying a great name, use it well."
FLUOSH!
The specter gained a name, and his appearance became more defined, less bulky, leaner and taller, but still powerful looking. His black armor gained some red colors here and there, with crimson flames surrounding his neck and shoulders, resembling a lion mane.

And he spoke?!
"He can talk?!" Arthur gasped.
"I-I didn’t know he would start yapping out of nowhere!" I said. "I made him out of so many monsters so I thought he would be dumber..."
"The blessing of a name carries with itself a great title, master, your memories of this knight have shaped me," Igris said. "Now, let us fight together, my young master. I shall be your shield and your blade!"
"W-Woah!" Arthur was surprised as Igris turned into darkness, shifting constantly as shadows and spectral, nightmare phantoms, blocking blows from incoming beasts as he manifested giant shields to defend him. "You’re kind of amazing! Sure!"
He seemed to have loved the familiar, nice!
Now he has got a better arsenal, more skills, a strong weapon and armor, and now his personal familiar to help him out.
Ideally, I would give him more, but one soul bound familiar for now is enough, his soul needs to get bigger to be able to become a "larger vessel" that can accept more familiars easily.
My soul is... well, very twisted, so I am the exception. The larger my soul became, the more and more Undead I could have.
"SHIEEEKKK!"
CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!
Suddenly, I heard Thorn’s roar, as I saw giant thorny vines tear to shreds a few giant Nightmaresaurs, giving me a nice bath of blood and guts...
"W-Well done Thorn! But be careful to not spill the innards on me!" I said, sighing.
"SHAAAH!"
Her vines and roots suddenly wrapped around my body, as she started licking all of the blood and eating the innards, leaving me squeaky clean.
"Oh wow! That was... unexpected! You’re a bit clingy, aren’t you? you’re such a good girl!"
I patted her long tentacle-like vines, she was quite happy to be loved.
See? Even the scariest, blood hungry monstrosity just needs some love!
Especially once they die and become Undead, it becomes much easier to give them love.
"G-Gyyuuh..."
As I talked with Thorn, I noticed Root by my side, glancing at Thorn close by, while she was also hunting more monsters.
"Root?"
"S-She’s... Thorn is amazing! She can hunt so much, and her vines are so long and slender... her roots are beautiful! And her spikes... her eyes!"
"Huh?"
Wait a second, what’s going on in here?!
"A-Ah! I’m sorry... I just don’t know what’s gotten into me, master... Gyuuhh..."
He was confused and nervous, even on his little spirit form, making him look even cuter.
"Hehehe, I didn’t think you had reached that age, my little sapling! It seems you’ve fallen in love with Thorn!"

"Yes! Love between plants is totally normal and valid! Don’t worry, I don’t discriminate and even more, I encourage it!"
"G-Gyuuhh?!"
"So, go talk to her! Show her you’re strong and big!"
"Y-Yes...! I will! Thorn!"
He quickly turned into his gigantic tree form, impressing Thorn immediately, who glanced at him with her various eyes.
"Hello! I-I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind a hunting partner! I-I... I am a plant like you after all! We should... L-Look for each other gyuuh!"
Hahaha! He was too cute while trying to talk with her...
Thorn is much simpler minded, I doubt she’ll be that judgmental for him to be so nervous.
"SHYAAAAH!"
She released a loud hiss, however, as she began touching his bark with her vines.
"Eeeeh?!"
He was shocked!
However...
SLAAAM!
Thorn hit Root out of nowhere, throwing him down into the ground with a loud thud.
"G-Gyuuh?!"
And then she looked back at him from above, as if trying to show she was the stronger here...
Wow, she’s bold!
Root is definitely stronger, who does she think she is?
"W-What’s happening, master?! I don’t get it!"
He tried to contact me through telepathy to act for some advice...
"I think she sees you as a rival, Root... She’s trying to establish dominance over you."
"Gyuuuhh?! T-That’s... is that romantic?"
"I don’t know, but you shouldn’t let her do that, show her who’s boss!"

He quickly fought back, pushing her gently away.
Well, his "gentle attack" ended being rather strong, making her roll down around the forest.
"SHYAAAAH!"
She rushed back to me to defend me, and then hit Root angrily, her vines being like countless whips.
"Ouch, ouch! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to throw you so far! You’re really pretty when you get angry though, gyuuuh!"
As he received his punishment for being mean to a lady, Root kept asking for advice.
"What do I do now?! She hates me!"
"Aw geez, I don’t know Root, I don’t know everything about plants dating and their love life! You’ll need to be nice but not too nice and... I don’t know."
"O-Okay then!"
Root quickly created a big red fruit from one of his branches and gave it to her.
"Please take this, it’s my tastiest, most nutritional fruit!"
She received it with her tentacle-like vines, glaring at him with her hundreds of eyes.
And then, using her jaws across her vines, she ate the fruit!
"Y-You like it?"
"GRRHHH..."
She let out a loud growl and then stopped bothering him or acting cocky or angry.
This is nice, it looks like it worked!
"Alright Thorn, please cooperate with Root and be nice with him whenever he’s nice with you, okay? Maybe in the future you should choose him as your mate to make more plant babies."
As I spoke to her, she looked back and seemed to be fine with it.
"SHYAAAH!"
She suddenly caressed Root’s body for a moment, and then the two started fighting together.
"Good girl, be nice with him, he’s definitely a good catch!"
"SHAAAH!"
While overseeing the battlefield and everything, time went flying, an hour passed and once we were done hunting Nightmare Beasts, my level...

After all, it was about time for the girls to wake up and join us, so I went to look for them using one of my Split Souls I left in the Academy.
