Chapter 95: Chapter 95 Chased out.
Grandma Rachel stood up and tried to speak, but Xylander silenced her with a simple raise of his palm.
"I wanted us to just eat before I left for business today. But Maxine just proved there’s a greater need—I must purge this house of demons like her." Xylander pronounced firmly, unflinching, making Rachel tremble.
He wouldn’t!! That was his sister. Why would he call his own sister a demon? Surely, he wouldn’t go further than this.
But predicting Xylander had always been a hopeless task. It was better to shut up than keep trying. Maxine, on the other hand, didn’t need anyone to tell her that her end had come.
Boldly insulting her brother’s groom? How stupid.
"I thought Daniel was just being sexily nasty when he said Maxine’s brain was rusted. But he was dead right—imagine behaving like a deranged animal in front of your family."
Consumed with shame, Maxine stood shakily to her feet, moving slowly and painfully because of the bleeding nose Alex had mercilessly given her.
"It wasn’t intentional, Xylander. I was consumed with hate, that’s all." Maxine begged.
But Xylander shook his head, looking at her with venom that shattered her world instantly.
"Too late, Max. Try explaining when you’re locked in the dark room. You would’ve been carried straight to the psychiatric hospital, but not now. After one month in the dark room, then your next destination will be the mental ward." Xylander intoned coldly.
Rachel immediately stood up against it, others rising with her—but Xyle didn’t care to stop them. He was tired of them anyway.
"You were consumed with hate? What a miserable lie. You’re just evil. Tell me why you would plot with an outsider to harm my groom, my happiness, and even loosen the fan in his room?" Xylander accused, listing it all, and everyone around the table froze in shock.
Draven rose in anger, ready to slap the girl, but Alex dragged him back. Rachel stood frozen.
"Maxine couldn’t do that! She can’t harm a soul—she’s the sweetest girl ever. Someone is trying to frame her, maybe that person is your whore of a husband." Rachel didn’t finish before Xylander grabbed her arm.
"Goodbye, woman. From now on, you cease to be important to me." Xylander spat, shoving her away from the table. She stumbled and fell into Alex’s waiting arms.
Relishing his pheromones, Alex spoke to the woman.
"Kneel. Crawl beside me when following me." He commanded, and Rachel dropped to her knees.
She was horrified that Xyle would allow Alex to do such. Her inability to resist made her eyes bulge.
An enigma... Before she could grasp what was happening, her brain seemed to shut down, and she collapsed, crawling side by side with Alexander.
Alex stayed in front until they reached the elevator. Rachel, still crawling, entered as well.
"Bark like a dog!!!" Alex commanded carelessly, and the old woman obeyed, barking like a real dog.
Maxine clutched her face in horror. Noo!! Her life, her dignity. This couldn’t be happening.
"You love me, right? Remember what our parents said—we should protect each other. I was just protecting you. Don’t abandon those who love you because of this nobody, this person who doesn’t care about your well-being!" Maxine pleaded, trying to blackmail Xylander with their mother’s final request.
She thought it would work. Instead, it became her greatest mistake.
"Wow, that was sweet of you, Max. So you do care about me so much." Xylander cooed, clutching his chest in mock joy, wiping away an imaginary tear.
"But as much as you care, I don’t. And thank you—for making me realize family is nothing but nonsense. A fake identity I created to fool myself into happiness."
"My real family is with Daniel. And you, Maxine, are hereby disowned by me. Bye-bye." Xylander waved casually.
Right before everyone’s eyes, guards entered and began dragging Maxine away.
"Don’t touch me, you fools! Don’t you dare! I am the real heiress—the one and only!" Maxine screamed, but her words were ignored. She was seized like cabbage in a sack, yanked by the hair, and dragged toward the end of the hall while everyone watched as though she were a freak show.
"Xylander! You will pay! I promise you—you will pay. I might be gone now, but Daniel will die. Not by my hands, but by someone else who will eliminate him permanently!" Maxine’s ominous words hung in the air as she was locked inside the dark cell.
Draven couldn’t speak. All of it flashed through his mind like a movie, but this wasn’t fiction—this was real.
"Why am I the only one scared for Daniel? That crazy bitch just threatened him!" Draven cried out, but Alex, who had just returned, stopped behind him and whispered:
"We are here for him. You might not be capable, but I and Xylander can protect him. Maybe you should go back to your studies instead of sticking around in a messier situation." Alex spoke as though he wanted to shield Draven from their dark world—though the opposite was true.
"You won’t get rid of me that easily, Alex. You’re stuck with me, buddy. This journey of friendship will be a long one—so I recommend something strong." Draven cooed, patting Alex’s shoulder.
Alex instantly brushed the hand off, furious at his audacity.
"As if..." he muttered, walking away.
Other family members, like the unfortunate Diane and her husband with their two children, were dragged out as well. Their properties bundled and tossed after them, taken as quickly as they had arrived.
Finally, with everyone gone, the house regained its calm and order.
Xylander smiled, satisfied. Yes—this was what he wanted. A peaceful life with his husband.
"So... who’s ready for a honeymoon?" Xylander announced cheerfully. Alex smiled faintly for him, Draven too, though at the corner of the table, someone was still chewing on a huge turkey leg.
"A whole turkey leg?! Isn’t that too much?" Draven exclaimed in horror. Alex was already exhausted by all the pregnancy antics, and now this.
Now that Xylander had raised the issue of a honeymoon, it was bound to be a complete nightmare.
"Your company—what will you tell them? Won’t they be furious?" Alex asked, secretly hoping to cancel the honeymoon. He remembered Xyle had given Daniel ninety-nine days to fall in love, but surely this wasn’t the moment for pregnancy drama.
"Someone else is taking over in my absence. Everything is settled. And you, Alex, will follow Draven—if you’re interested." Xylander added.
Draven brightened at the mention of his name.
Alex froze. Draven?? Now? What was Xylander planning—was this a threesome or something worse?
"Any secret plans you’re not telling me, Xyle?" Alex wondered aloud. But Xylander just shrugged.
"Stick around and you’ll be filled in." Xylander knew Draven was still new to their circle, but having him there could help—especially since he had marked Daniel first. That was a discussion for their vacation.
"Well, Daniel, hubby—what do you think?" Xylander smiled.
The two men behind him had forgotten Daniel had earlier said he wasn’t interested in the honeymoon. It was only later they realized he had never agreed.
"What do I think?!?" Daniel dropped the turkey bone. The three men froze instantly.
The bone looked so rickety, so deformed, so torn apart.
Poor bone.
"The only thing I know that will truly fulfill me right now... is an albino roasted turkey."
And the three men’s mouths fell open, jaws hanging by the grace of God.
