Chapter 145: Chapter 145(Luxury Car Extra Chapter)
After Alicia’s voice faded, Ethan slowly opened the system map. The interface shimmered before his eyes.
A new blue mark had appeared within the Azure Origin Dao Sect’s region—the very area where the ancient inheritance was hidden.
He tapped on the glowing symbol, and the map magnified, revealing terrain details with remarkable clarity. In the center of the region was a marked circle—his current location.
The land’s name gleamed faintly upon the map: Land of Peach Blossoms.
A small fishhook symbol shimmered atop an icon of tranquil waters nearby. Ethan blinked.
"A fishing spot? Here?"
He barely had time to entertain the thought before the system’s crisp tone echoed in his mind.
[Sir, a new fishing spot has been unlocked. First-time fishing in this location will yield a surprise prize!]
He looked around at the ethereal bloom of the inheritance realm, its rivers lined with faintly glowing petals drifting upon the gentle ripples.
For all the ancient traps and beasts he’d faced, this place felt almost serene now—like an entirely different world.
"Well then," he muttered, "since I don’t know when I’ll return here next, I might as well enjoy the moment."
He took out his small wooden bench and worn fishing bucket, placing them neatly beside the shimmering pool. With practiced ease, Ethan adjusted his line and cast his hook, the bait settling undisturbed into the glistening mirror of the lake.
Behind him, Ebon Azure—the lingering soul of the Blue Void Ancestor—hovered, arms crossed and brow furrowed. The old ancestor’s deep voice broke the silence.
"This last scroll is my proudest creation," he said with deep nostalgia.
"A sword technique forged from centuries of comprehension... every sweep of it once split mountains and divided seas."
His tone brimmed with intoxicated reminiscence. The air itself seemed to grow solemn under his memory.
But when he turned, expecting Ethan’s awe-struck attention, his composure faltered.
Ethan was nowhere near the scroll.
Instead, he sat quietly at the nearby pool, rod in hand, staring into the water with the seriousness of a monk in meditation.
"No... what exactly are you doing?" Ebon Azure asked flatly.
"Fishing," Ethan said without looking up. He added lightly, "Don’t worry. I’ll listen once I catch something."
Ebon Azure’s eyelid twitched. "Fishing. Now, of all times..."
He exhaled slowly. "I’ve seen geniuses in my endless years. None like this." He rubbed his temple wearily.
"Any one of my three relics could provoke a bloodstorm across Skyreach Territory, yet this boy chooses... leisure and fishing."
Moments later, the system chimed again—its voice brimming with cheer.
[Congratulations to the host for completing the fishing mission!]
[Reward obtained: Dragon Bird Blood Essence]
[Fishing bonus for first attempt in Land of Peach Blossoms: Supreme reward—Emperor Seal Technique!]
Ethan’s eyebrows rose. "Dragon Bird Blood Essence?"
He instantly recognized the name. The Dragon Bird ranked among the ten most ferocious beasts of ancient times, feared for its savagery and unmatched strength.
Its bloodline, though slightly below divine beasts, remained leagues above any ordinary spiritual creature.
And then there was the second reward. The Emperor Seal Technique.
A tremor coursed through Ethan’s frame as he read the description shimmering in golden text:
[Emperor Seal Technique: Inheritance technique containing the supreme power.]
His pupils dilated. "An inheritance technique?" he whispered.
A grin tugged at his lips. "This is... unbelievable!" The system had blessed him again. Another inheritance-type reward, much like the Divine Flame Body Forging Technique.
An inheritance technique wasn’t something that required enlightenment—it simply demanded dedication.
To learn it was to gain direct insight into ancient truths of power.
He clenched his fists with excitement. "According to legend, there is a supreme inheritance on top of the Inheritance Techniques. I wonder when I can get a reward of that level?" His anticipation surged.
Behind him, Ebon Azure coughed pointedly. "Boy, finished your fishing session yet?"
Ethan reeled in his line, satisfaction upon his face. "Pretty much done. My apologies, Senior. Fishing’s one of my few beloved hobbies—I couldn’t resist when I saw water."
Ebon Azure’s expression froze somewhere between exasperation and disbelief. "You are truly... an odd child."
He exhaled through his nose and returned to business. "Have you remembered what I said before?"
Ethan straightened, his demeanor turning serious instantly. "Yes. The Four Elephant Prison Formation requires the blood essence of four ancient spiritual beasts to activate."
"Good," Ebon Azure nodded approvingly. "But remember—those essences aren’t easily found. Still..."
He lifted a finger, releasing a small flick of light. A white jade bottle materialized, floating toward Ethan.
"I possess one—the Black Turtle’s blood essence. Acquired by sheer fortune in my youth. The rest, you must seek on your own."
Ethan accepted it with reverence, bowing. "Thank you, honored ancestor."
Ebon Azure’s tone softened. "Don’t thank me yet. Take this too."
He waved his arm. A radiant scroll drifted gently before Ethan, emanating vast sword intent.
"This is the Supreme Profound Sky Sword Technique—my life’s work. Within it lies the culmination of my centuries of sword comprehension. If mastered, it stands on equal footing with any inheritance technique."
His expression dimmed with regret. "Alas, on my path of cultivation, I failed to perfect it. Another step beyond, and it might have become a Supreme Inheritance Technique itself."
Ethan inhaled sharply. The air around him thickened with awe. "To create a sword art rivaling inheritance-level techniques... truly worthy of the legend of Blue Void Ancestor."
Ebon Azure smiled faintly, though his gaze turned grave once more. "The threshold to wield my art is not low. Without reaching the realm of Sword Intent, comprehension will be impossible."
"I witnessed your battle in the secret realm," he continued. "You’ve already achieved the Realm of Consciousness in the Divine Fire realm—and on top of that, you can fused scythe and sword intent alike. Unbelievable."
He studied Ethan’s calm face with deep satisfaction. "Your comprehension is greater than I ever held. Truly, of all the geniuses I’ve seen through the long river of years, your talent surpasses all. Even in the annals of tens of millennia, few could match you."
Ebon Azure’s eyes glinted with brilliance. "When I was young, I was called destined for supremacy. But you..." his voice trembled slightly with conviction. "You have the bearing of a Emperor."
Ethan’s heart skipped. "An emperor..."
Those words ignited a storm within him.
Beyond the Supreme realm lay a path spoken of only in myth—the Emperor Realm.
In all of Skyreach Territory’s endless history, tens of millennia had passed without a single Emperor’s emergence. The Supreme stood near the summit, but only one who transcended life’s mortal bindings could become a true Emperor—one who reigned over immortality and destiny itself.
He exhaled slowly, wrestling against the surge of ambition.
"Emperor destiny, huh? That sounds dangerously like poisoned praise." He managed a rueful smile.
Ebon Azure laughed heartily. "Modesty ill suits you, boy. The heavens rarely gift such potential twice."
Ethan inclined his head. "Old ancestor exaggerates. Compared to the true emperors of ancient times, I’m far too lacking. If I can reach the Nirvana realm, I’ll already be content."
"Hah! I don’t believe that." The ancestor’s laughter rumbled through the chamber before fading, replaced by solemn depth.
"If you want to truly unleash the power of Supreme profound sky sword technique, you must improve your understanding of the way of the sword to a level where the sword can transform the world!"
He raised his spectral hand toward Ethan, the air trembling with unseen energy. "In the intent of consciousness, the next stage after transforming the realm is transforming the world. Only a handful of cultivators have ever reached that state. Some in Mahayana, and in Nirvana for physical cultivation. Perhaps you, too, will grasp it."
Ethan bowed deeply, his palm closing around the glowing scroll. "This junior will strive with all his heart."
As the surrounding brilliance began to fade, he reflected quietly. This trip had borne more treasures than he could’ve imagined: the Blue Void Ancestor’s legacy, the phoenix egg resting safely in his possession, a fishing mission with an inheritance technique reward.
And beyond it all, his next stage of intent after the transformation of the realm is the transformation of the world.
That was what the Blue Void Ancestor had called it: transforming the world.
