Chapter 414: Chapter 414: Irreconcilable Enmity
Rosalind Lynch felt both aggrieved and confused, her face and eyes were red, as she lowered her head and followed him out.
Once they were outside SQ Tower, Zeke Jennings finally couldn’t hold back anymore, and unleashed a huge outburst at Rosalind Lynch in the open space outside the company’s entrance.
Zeke was angry for two reasons, one was because Rosalind Lynch had a grudge against Owen Sinclair, yet she still begged him to bring her to see Owen, without revealing anything to him.
The other reason was that Owen Sinclair didn’t even give him a bit of face.
Of course, the former angered him more.
He was afraid that because of Rosalind Lynch, he would also become a target of Owen Sinclair.
Becoming a target of Owen Sinclair was equivalent to being targeted by half of the entertainment industry.
Whether or not there was a woman involved was insignificant, his career was truly the most important thing.
But Rosalind Lynch also felt wronged.
"What grudge? I didn’t even know him before, we were at most nodding acquaintances, how could we have a grudge? If I really had a grudge against him, how could I ask you to introduce me? Wouldn’t I be humiliating myself?"
Zeke heard Rosalind’s words and only felt they were excuses.
"You’re still not willing to tell me the truth?" Zeke asked with a dark expression.
"What I said is the truth, I really don’t know what I did to upset him."
"Fine, very well, you better not drag me down with you! Otherwise, I won’t let you off!"
After saying that, Zeke turned around, got into his car, and drove off, ignoring Rosalind Lynch.
Rosalind Lynch ran a few steps after him, shouting Zeke’s name.
But how could human speed compare to that of a four-wheeled vehicle?
In just a flash, Zeke’s car was out of sight.
"Bastard! Zeke, you’re a bastard!!"
For today’s interview, she gave herself to Zeke last night!
But Zeke, that bastard, turned his back and refused to acknowledge her!
At that moment, Rosalind Lynch had the urge to kill Zeke.
However, as if troubles never come singly, Rosalind Lynch discovered her purse was missing.
Without her purse, she didn’t even have money for a cab ride home.
She thought of the days when there was a personal driver to pick her up, and then looked at her current state, and couldn’t help but regret it.
Who was Zeke Jennings? Someone she could crush underfoot with a single step in the past, now dared to leave her on the street.
She wondered if it would have been better not to leave Westcroft back then.
She was beautiful, ten times more beautiful than Jillian Lynch.
Even if her father hated her for not persuading Warren Prescott to buy their family’s core technology, he wouldn’t actually kill her or kick her out.
In other words, as long as her face remained beautiful, she still held value for Gavin Lynch.
She could still enjoy a life of luxury.
A starved camel is still bigger than a horse, sure the Lynch Group was bankrupt, but selling just a few properties was better than following Zeke Jennings.
To put it even bluntly, who doesn’t sleep with someone for benefits?
Her biggest regret was impulsively losing her virginity to Zeke Jennings yesterday.
Thinking of Zeke’s disgusting face made Rosalind Lynch’s stomach churn in revulsion.
She couldn’t stand living like this, not for another day!
She wanted to go home!
But to go home, she first needed to find her purse.
Rosalind Lynch’s mind raced swiftly, and she quickly remembered leaving her purse in the practice room upstairs in Owen Sinclair’s company.
She had no choice but to brace herself and walk back.
The receptionist looked puzzled as she returned.
"Miss, is there anything else you need?"
Rosalind awkwardly explained her purpose, to which the receptionist responded, "I’ll give them a call upstairs and have them bring it down for you."
Rosalind quickly said, "No need to trouble them, I’ll just go up myself, I roughly know where it is."
This left the receptionist looking awkward.
"I’m really sorry, Miss. We can’t let anyone upstairs without an appointment or a call."
In other words, sending someone down with her purse wasn’t a courtesy to her, but rather they couldn’t allow Rosalind Lynch to go up.
Rosalind’s expression immediately darkened.
She was already at the brink of breaking down today, and now even a receptionist was "humiliating" her. How could she keep holding back her temper again and again?
Just as she was about to explode, she caught sight of Owen Sinclair walking out of the elevator with a smile on his face.
Her anger was replaced by curiosity.
When Owen saw her earlier, his expression was cold as frost, but now the ice had melted, and his face was radiant.
Who was Owen about to meet, to be this happy?
She pushed down her displeasure towards the receptionist and asked her to call someone to bring her purse down, then quietly observed Owen Sinclair.
Owen didn’t pay attention to the reception area but walked straight to the main entrance.
Yet he didn’t go outside, instead waiting inside at the door.
Rosalind Lynch grew even more curious as to who Owen was waiting for.
The next moment, Owen suddenly raised his hand in delight and waved vigorously outwards.
Following Owen’s line of sight, Rosalind saw a very familiar figure appear outside the door.
It was Ashley Shaw.
Or rather, it was actually Ashley Shaw!
Wasn’t she staying in the same room with another man? How was she involved with Owen Sinclair again?
Owen’s earlier smile wasn’t the slightest bit fake, it was genuine happiness.
Could it be that Ashley Shaw was also romantically involved with Owen Sinclair?
If that were true, did Owen know that Ashley Shaw had a man "hidden" in her hotel room?
Rosalind Lynch took out her phone and quickly snapped a photo of the two, unnoticed by the receptionist.
The photo didn’t reveal any incriminating details, but Owen’s happiness was clearly visible.
Rosalind quickly put away her phone, turning her back to the reception to avoid being seen by Ashley, though the cold look on her face startled the receptionist.
Rosalind was very angry, and also... very jealous.
Why couldn’t she, the true heiress, even handle Zeke, while Ashley Shaw had so many outstanding men flocking around her?
Moreover, seeing Ashley Shaw, she understood why Owen had treated her coldly today.
It must have been something Ashley Shaw said!
She and Ashley Shaw were irreconcilable!
But actually, if Rosalind just calmed down a bit, she’d realize that being rejected by Owen today was definitely not because Ashley said anything.
Because she and Zeke arrived on the spur of the moment, and not even Owen, let alone Ashley, knew they were coming.
Unless Ashley could predict the future, there was no way she could have known in advance that Rosalind would come, and told Owen to criticize her character.
But women are always emotional creatures, once emotions flare up, logic takes a backseat, emotions become primary.
Especially with someone like Rosalind Lynch, who’s always centered on herself, that’s all the more true.
How could she care about the logic in this?
...
At the entrance.
Ashley Shaw ran towards Owen Sinclair with a smile.
"Uncle Owen."
Despite having so much on her mind, she presented a light and easygoing demeanor, showing no sign of any troubles.
She knew Owen was attentive, so she rehearsed her "smile" facing the car window, making it appear sincere.
