Chapter 392: Chapter 392: Unreasonable and Unruly
Ashley Shaw and Ariana Grant were customers, so she had to suppress her displeasure and politely greet them.
But if the clothes were sold to someone else, those two would no longer be her customers.
Ashley Shaw and Ariana Grant had already vented their frustration from being mocked by the sales assistant and intended to leave things be after this cup of tea.
Earlier, Ashley Shaw subconsciously glanced at the doorway, and she vaguely felt that the girl in the middle looked familiar. However, upon reflection, she was certain she hadn’t met her before and quickly looked away.
As a result, she didn’t notice the three girls were sizing them up.
Nor did she expect that the clothes they had "bought" had already been snatched away.
"Come with me later to pick a gift for Uncle Owen," Ashley Shaw said.
Ariana Grant replied, "Then I’ll choose one too."
"No, let’s just give him one gift together. Besides, I’ll pay for this outfit myself. When you start working, you can buy me something even pricier."
"How can this be okay? We’ve already agreed that I’ll pay. I’m not short of this kind of money."
"I know you have money, but you’re giving me such an expensive gift, how can I reciprocate?"
"Who said you have to reciprocate?"
"If you insist on buying it for me, then I have to give you something in return. Do you like their bags? I can pick one out for you."
"No, even if I wanted a bag, it wouldn’t be from this place. This store, this brand—never again!"
Were it not for Ashley Shaw fitting their style so well and wanting to fight back, she would’ve left when the sales assistant started giving them attitude.
But the clothes were for Ashley Shaw, not the sales assistant. So, she swallowed her pride to buy them.
Ashley Shaw still wanted to persuade her, but Ariana Grant cut her off, "If you’re being this precise, then for my lawsuit about the house, I’ll also be precise with you. The house lawsuit is largely thanks to you. When Aunt Sutton helps me sell the house, I’ll give you half the money."
Ashley Shaw was startled and quickly said, "Forget it, I’ll still take this outfit."
Ariana Grant chuckled with an expression that said "That’s more like it."
While they were discussing what gift to get for Owen Sinclair later, the short-haired sales assistant approached them.
Ashley Shaw put away her smile and asked, "Is it wrapped?"
The short-haired sales assistant wore a smile, but it was clearly mocking.
"I’m terribly sorry. We just realized that the coat you chose has already been reserved by another customer. However, don’t worry; we’ve ordered a new one. In about an hour or two, your clothes should be delivered."
Both women froze in disbelief.
As the short-haired sales assistant continued: "If you’re in a hurry, you can leave now."
Ashley Shaw immediately realized that the sales assistant was lying.
The coat they wanted wasn’t reserved; it was intercepted midway.
As for who snatched it... Ashley Shaw looked up and saw the three girls from earlier staring at them.
Ashley Shaw understood that this was the sales assistant’s personal agenda, clearly meant to upset them.
Ariana Grant also caught on by now.
She wasn’t as patient as Ashley Shaw and spoke up to clarify everything.
The short-haired sales assistant continued smiling: "If that’s what you think, there’s nothing I can do about it."
This infuriating level is akin to when a boyfriend asks, "Is it really worth arguing over this small matter?" during a fight.
Even Ashley Shaw’s face turned sour.
"You just said the coat we chose has already been reserved?"
"That’s right," the short-haired sales assistant said, unfazed.
Ashley Shaw smiled gently, "As far as I know, once an item is reserved, you inspect the packaging and mail it to the customer immediately. It wouldn’t be displayed on the counter."
The short-haired sales assistant’s face darkened.
She thought these two were first-timers in a luxury store and didn’t know the rules, but it turned out...
But having already lied, she could only brace herself and stick to it.
"Like I said, we accidentally forgot, and this item was reserved just minutes before you entered."
Ashley Shaw remained composed, "Oh? Is that so? Then show me the reservation invoice. If they reserved the coat I’ve chosen, I can apologize and wait here patiently for the new order."
Of course, the short-haired sales assistant couldn’t produce the reservation invoice, turning pale.
Ashley Shaw "good-naturedly" said, "If there’s no reservation invoice, I’m fine with seeing the chat record of her making the reservation with you."
The sales assistant still couldn’t provide anything, only awkwardly uttering, "That lady said if you give her this coat, she’ll compensate you for your lost time."
Ashley Shaw sneered, "Are you admitting my clothes weren’t reserved by anyone then?"
"Do you really have to make a fuss? Customer."
Ariana Grant retorted angrily, "Who’s making a fuss? We haven’t received any courtesy from you since we walked in. You said this coat was for us, and now you want us to give it to someone else, making us wait an extra one or two hours. I haven’t seen a service attitude like yours! Is this how an international brand treats customers?"
"You, you..." The short-haired sales assistant was immediately speechless and couldn’t argue back.
Noelle York approached.
"Ladies."
She wore a smile.
It’s said one shouldn’t hit a smiling face, so Ashley Shaw and Ariana Grant didn’t use their attitude towards the sales assistant on Noelle York, simply asking, "What’s the matter?"
Noelle York said, "It’s like this: I accidentally stained this outfit while eating, but I’m going to meet someone very important soon, so I came to buy the same set."
"So?"
"So, I’m asking you both to let me have the outfit. As she mentioned earlier, I will compensate you for your time lost."
Ashley Shaw and Ariana Grant felt somewhat sympathetic at this point.
Since the other person was in a hurry, they could just concede. She was polite, and they weren’t fighting over clothes, just about pride.
Anyway, they had made dinner plans with Owen Sinclair, and they could wait for an hour or two.
But before they could speak, Noelle York added, "I see it wasn’t easy for you to buy this outfit, was it? How about this: if you let me have it, I’ll cover your bill for the clothes."
Then, a girl beside Noelle York chirped in: "Why are you hesitating? You’re getting a good deal here; hurry up and say thanks."
"Exactly," another girl added, "People like you, what are you buying Chanel for? There’s a budget chain clothing store downstairs, perfect for you."
"Enough, you two, say less," Noelle York pretended to scold, then smiled at Ashley Shaw and Ariana Grant, "Excuse my friends; they’re straightforward. Don’t mind them."
These words appeared friendly, but in reality, she aligned herself with her friends.
She presumed they were "poor" people who couldn’t afford Chanel but insisted on buying it.
Therefore, they weren’t qualified to fight with her and should immediately hand over the clothes and say "thank you."
