Chapter 636: 504 Great Person_3
Otherwise, Human History wouldn’t have gotten involved.
Thinking of this, Reiger suddenly reached out his hand and mussed up Altoria’s hair.
"Hey! What are you doing!?"
Altoria’s expression lightened, and she began to dance around, her usual demeanor restored.
"Nothing much, just breaking up those meaningless thoughts," Reiger said, ignoring Altoria’s struggle and continued, "If you can’t figure something out, there’s no point dwelling on it. Just focus on what needs to be done right now."
"What needs to be done right now?"
Altoria stopped struggling.
"Let’s go." Reiger said to her, "First, let’s see what the chieftain of the Wind Clan has to say."
Altoria lowered her head, deep in thought.
"Mm!"
A moment later, the fairy girl lifted her eyes, as if she had gathered her spirits, and nodded firmly.
Only then did Reiger crack a slight smile, and he walked out of the room with Altoria.
...
The Great Hall of the Ash tree, lord’s room.
When Reiger and Altoria once again arrived there, this time Koral, who was guarding the entrance, did not stop them, but merely glanced at them and let them pass.
Reiger and Altoria entered the lord’s room together and encountered two people there.
One of them, of course, was Aurora.
And the other person had been met by Reiger the day before.
"Yo, I’ve been waiting for you guys for a long time, you know?"
With a smile that seemed to sparkle, Fairy King Alberon greeted the two as they entered.
This king, who had only met Reiger the day before, was now sitting with Aurora, apparently in the middle of a conversation.
"Huh?"
Seeing Alberon, Altoria froze.
Then, an expression of disbelief appeared on the fairy girl’s face.
"...Merlin?"
She addressed Alberon in such a way.
"Merlin?" Alberon was also taken aback for a moment, pointing to his own face and asked in surprise, "Are you calling me?"
"He’s Alberon, the King of the Forest of Autumn," Aurora interjected from the side, introducing him to Altoria, "He’s quite famous in many cities, especially Salisbury. If you’ve been on a journey, you should have heard of him, right?"
The so-called Forest of Autumn was a secluded fairy forest.
It was home to weak fairies not needed by the Fairy Country, and Alberon originated from there, proclaiming himself the king of that place.
Because all fairies in Fairy Country cherish excitement and interesting things, Alberon used to be active in various cities, sometimes singing aloud, causing commotions, telling fairy tales, or reciting ballads, trying all sorts of means to survive.
Thus, Alberon became a widely known Fairy King who owed debts in many places, and his fame gradually spread across Britannia.
Aurora thought that Reiger and Altoria should be aware of Alberon’s existence.
Unfortunately, leaving Reiger aside, Altoria was definitely unaware of the tales about Alberon.
Being a country fairy, gossip from the big cities was quite distant for her, and even if someone in Tintagel Village had heard of him, they wouldn’t necessarily tell Altoria, who was merely seen as a tool to be sold.
Therefore, Altoria indeed did not know of Alberon’s existence.
Yet, Altoria was staring intently at Alberon, as if trying to see through something.
"That... "
Alberon felt a bit embarrassed being stared at by Altoria.
"Although I am indeed quite popular, don’t look at me like that; I have a lover, you know? So, could you stop staring at me?"
The lover Alberon referred to was a fictional character that appeared in "A Midsummer Night’s Dream."
In that story, Fairy King Alberon has a queen named Titania.
Though this character was fictional, whenever people spoke of Fairy King Alberon’s lover, they immediately thought of this queen.
Alberon himself understood that his lover was a construct of fiction, and his words were merely to alleviate the awkwardness.
Altoria frowned deeply, and after staring intently at Alberon for a while, she eventually muttered.
"...Not Merlin?"
Perhaps only Reiger could hear this comment?
But Reiger gave no response, nor did he join the conversation.
"Sorry, it seems I mistook you for someone else," Altoria apologized to Alberon but still sneakily glanced at him, as though she was confirming something.
"Well, I don’t particularly dislike such dramatic turns of events," Alberon spread his hands and said with an indifferent smile, "An interesting encounter is a prelude to a fascinating story. I’ll look forward to remembering this moment in the future."
"You always have a way of speaking so eloquently, Alberon," Aurora chimed in with a smile, adding, "If it weren’t for the situation, I’d love to hear a story from you right here and now."
"There will be plenty of chances to hear stories later," Alberon replied with a smile at Aurora, adding, "Once we defeat Morgan, I’ll definitely turn this exciting experience into a story to be told throughout all of Britannia."
"I look forward to it," Aurora nodded, then turned to Reiger and Altoria, continuing, "But before that, let’s hear your decision."
"Will you accept our assistance and join forces against Queen Morgan?"
"I personally think that this is beneficial for both sides and there’s no reason to refuse," Aurora said.
Reiger looked toward Altoria.
He wanted to hear what Altoria was thinking now.
