Chapter 600: 492 Towering Above the Fairies_2

Unfortunately, some people just can’t stand to see Lancelot like this.

"You’ve been enchanted by that kind of guy too?" Woodworth scoffed, "It seems that his charm is indeed great. Both His Majesty and you have been completely deceived."

Lancelot immediately turned his gaze toward Woodworth.

Then, the Dragon Maiden simply said,

"At least, he is stronger than you."

This simple sentence not only blocked Woodworth but also enraged him.

"What a joke! How could he possibly be stronger than me?" Woodworth growled, "Do you know who I am? I am the leader of the Tusk Clan, the inheritor of the Duke’s name, Arlene!"

"So what?" Lancelot said with a cold face, "Aren’t you the one who messed up twice and couldn’t manage to capture him?"

"You...!"

Woodworth was instantly stung by the remark, unable to help stepping toward Lancelot.

Just as Woodworth, furious, was about to approach Lancelot, a sword burning with fierce flames was placed on his neck.

"Enough, Woodworth," Gawain, holding a great sword, stood behind Woodworth and, while pressing the blade against his neck, said coldly, "Mind the occasion. This isn’t Oxford, nor is it a desolate wilderness where you can misbehave. On a day like today, if you dare to cause trouble, I won’t mind eliminating you before the wedding starts."

"Gawain!"

Woodworth’s face twisted in rage.

At that moment, Tristan also spoke up.

"You might as well shut up now, you cur." Tristan, with a very bad mood, glanced at Woodworth and said coldly, "I’m very annoyed right now and wouldn’t mind pulling a few people aside to vent my frustration. If you keep barking like a wild dog, I won’t need Gawain to make a move; I’ll let you try my harp strings first."

"Damn brat!" Woodworth cursed out, "Aren’t you the Emperor’s adopted daughter? Don’t you hate elves the most? How can you just sit by and watch His Majesty marry a dangerous thief?"

Normally, you would have started causing trouble by now, wouldn’t you?"

"What’s different today? Have you changed? Can someone like you change?"

Woodworth’s words, mixed with anger and sarcasm, made Tristan blatantly gawk.

Woodworth actually wasn’t wrong.

Under normal circumstances, Tristan would have already started causing trouble, at the very least capturing a few people to kill, severing their ankles, chopping off their limbs, using their blood and screams to embellish the wedding and add to the festivity.

For this cruel Elf Knight, even a whim would be enough reason to attack the annoying elves around her, not to mention her current foul mood.

Given Tristan’s mood at the moment, even if she went on a killing spree and slaughtered all the elves present, it would not be surprising.

But today, even though her mood was very bad and her emotions low, Tristan dared not act recklessly.

There was no helping it.

"...Do you think I want this?" Tristan bit her lip, speaking in a faint voice, "But, it’s Mother’s command."

Mother greatly values this wedding, values that human, and Tristan had deeply realized this.

Therefore, Tristan knew very well that if she dared to cause trouble today, Mother would definitely be angry.

The thought of Mother getting angry filled Tristan’s heart with terror and fear, causing her to involuntarily touch her cheek.

Though the damage from Morgan’s slap had long healed, Tristan could still feel a faint pain on her cheek.

That slap had not just hit Tristan’s face but also struck deep into her heart.

So, Tristan was truly scared, scared of angering Mother again.

And her reaction piqued Spurgen’s interest, prompting him to speak.

"It seems our prophesied child is quite special, not only a queen but also deeply impressive to all of you, for better or worse,"

This truly sparked Spurgen’s curiosity.

Among the fairies present, only he had yet to meet Reiger and was unaware of what the prophesied child was like.

As for the leaders of the three great clans of the Winged King Mirror, not even a shadow showed up; they never attended the wedding.

The Royal Clan and the Mirror Clan were in such situations where they couldn’t attend the wedding, which was understandable.

The leader of the Tusk Clan, Mourine, had explicitly refused to attend, even though the queen had ordered that all diplomatic officials must be present. Still, she ignored the command and kept to herself in Gloucester, not daring to step out of her territory.

But that was also understandable, given the situation Mourine was in; it made her wary of the queen and not leaving her territory.

Because Mourine didn’t come, among the fairy knights and clan leaders present, indeed only Spurgen had not seen Reiger. Even Aurora, who had seen Reiger fighting from a distance in the battle at Salisbury, could barely claim to understand Reiger, unlike Spurgen who had no impression of him.

"I’m severely lacking information; may I inquire further?" Spurgen said with a smiling face, "Even if I have to pay a fee for the information."

Tristan and Woodworth faced Spurgen’s seemingly malicious demeanor with cold indifference, not bothering with him at all; Gawain and Lancelot also ignored him, just staring in the direction of the Jade Throne, deep in thought.

Only Aurora, kindly responding to Spurgen’s questions, shared the information she knew with the clan leader of the Earth Clan, claiming she wouldn’t charge a fee, appearing as an ingeniously kind-hearted lady, which made Spurgen nod repeatedly as he listened.

The rest of the fairies were similar, some curious about Reiger’s information, some merely joining the excitement, while others had their eyes swiftly moving around, clearly scheming something sinister.

This scene, if seen by humans, would surely make them lament the capricious and malevolent nature of fairies.

Reiger certainly wouldn’t approve, nor would he want to be gawked at by these creatures as if he were a monkey.

But as time passed, the moment to officially start the wedding finally arrived.

"Silence!"

Accompanied by a loud shout, the entire Jade Throne Hall suddenly quieted down.

Two fairy soldiers, each part horse and clad in bronze armor, stood one on each side of the steps leading to the Jade Throne, and in unison, they sang.

"Kneel,"

"Offer,"

"Bow down,"

"Fairies who have come to participate in the great ruler’s wedding, be silent from now on,"

"This is Her Majesty the Queen’s presence."

"This is the Royal Jade Throne’s presence."

"Our most exalted Queen and her consort, His Highness the Prince, will arrive, so lower your heads,"

Amid the song, neither unpleasant nor particularly pleasing to hear, two figures strikingly appeared before the grand Jade Throne.

The owners of the shadows were, of course, Reiger and Morgan.

Both were dressed differently from usual. Though not in wedding dresses and suits like those in the human world, they wore lavishly extravagant robes.

Reiger’s attire was predominantly white, accentuated with touches of red and blue, setting him off as a prince of a nation.

Morgan’s outfit was predominantly black, complemented by touches of white and gray, making her look very much like a queen in full regalia.

The simultaneous appearance of the two caused all the fairies present to kneel instantly.

"We see the Queen!"

"We see the Prince!"

The respectful and strong voices echoed in the Jade Throne Hall, lingering for a long time.
