Chapter 248 Lingering Farewell

This confusion would not be answered for now. If the person involved knew my secret, they certainly wouldn't tell me.

As things stood, I could only take it one step at a time.

I returned Sha Wuji's phone to him: "Big Brother, I had previously rallied everyone from the Northeast Demon tribes to come and help. It seems it's no longer necessary. Please inform them not to come and thank them for their good intentions on my behalf."

"Ah? You did?" Sha Wuji didn't know about my live interaction with the demons on the dark web and was a bit bewildered. However, he had extensive connections and was sure to know demons in the Northeast to relay my message.

"Director Lin," I bowed to Lin Chi and the other two, "Thank you for coming to my aid. Please thank the Spiritual Leaders of the General Bureau on my behalf. I've caused you trouble!"

The trio bowed back to me: "Take care!"

They didn't try to persuade me to stay; our relationship wasn't deep enough yet.

Turning to the two immortal crane demons, I said, "Thank you, esteemed immortals, for emerging from seclusion to help. I'll treat you to drinks another day!"

"Definitely!" Li Bing replied.

"Waiting for you!" Li Hong's eyes held a hint of tears. After all, they had fought together.

I then turned to the three Taoist priests: "Three Daoist Masters, thank you, thank you. If there's an opportunity, I'll play a few rounds with you!"

"Good!"

"Good!"

"Good!"

Their voices boomed like bells. I could almost hear the sounds of "Pong," "Ting," and "Hu" from a mahjong table!

Finally, I addressed the five from Fucheng: "Captain Sun, everyone, thank you. When I return to Fucheng, I'll treat you to Milan Pastries!"

"Alright."

"Take good care of yourself!"

"How about, this is for you?" a team member whispered, glancing at the Audi parked in the distance, and furtively handed me a handgun from his waist.

"No need, I appreciate the thought," I said with a smile. If firearms were useful against Nongyue, Huang Xi'er would have already shot her.

There were three more people approaching from behind, but I didn't need to bid them farewell; they were Nongyue's three subordinates of purple energy.

As they approached, Sha Wuji and the others visibly tensed. They were the ones truly relying on borrowed power!

But the three of them didn't even spare us a glance, chatting amongst themselves as if out for a stroll, passing by us and heading towards their master.

"Big Brother," I turned back to Sha Wuji, "Please tell Bingbing, Chen Lu, and the others that the team doesn't need to disband. When Yao Yao wakes up, have Yao Yao temporarily manage them. Oh, and Lu Qianxun is at Chen Lu's father's place in the provincial capital. Don't forget to pick her up, or have Yao Yao and the others go meet Qianxun."

"It seems that won't be necessary," Sha Wuji looked behind me. "She's here now."

"Huh?" I turned back in confusion. A white minivan was slowly approaching from the direction of the village entrance, which had been blown flat. A girl was leaning out of the sunroof, waving energetically at me.

My eyesight wasn't as good as a demon's, so I couldn't see clearly and had to activate my Qi-sensing ability.

Yes, it was undoubtedly Lu Qianxun. Her dense purple Qi color was comparable to Nongyue's, who was not far away. Alas, it was a pity that Lu Qianxun, despite possessing vast purple Qi, lacked combat skills. If she could be trained, she might even be able to contend with Nongyue.

Nongyue seemed not to possess the Qi-sensing technique and didn't notice anything special about the lively little girl. She watched as the Toyota drove past her and approached us.

Lu Qianxun climbed directly out of the sunroof, slid down the windshield, landed, and suddenly winced, clutching her bottom and frowning as she looked back: "It hurts so much, Daddy! What poked me?"

"That's called a windshield wiper," I explained.

"Hmph!" Lu Qianxun grabbed the wiper, snapped it in half, threw it on the ground, and stomped on it several times before she felt better.

"Why did you come over?" I genuinely liked Lu Qianxun. Seeing her cute and adorable appearance always lifted my mood. I pinched her cheek and asked.

"Chengfeng Daddy, why are you pinching my face! My bottom hurts!" Lu Qianxun said unhappily.
