The mobile phone battery was punctured by a samurai sword. I didn't know if Chen Ke had clearly heard our location. If GPS positioning wasn't possible, there was still a move: Yao Yao could use her Qi sensing technique to search for me. The chicken farm was about 7 or 8 kilometers from Jianjiang Building, well within the range of her Qi sensing. Although my red Qi was hard to detect, she could certainly recognize the fox demon's blue Qi, let alone the presence of three purple Qi streams here.
This meant that even if the fox demon and I were defeated and captured, it wouldn't matter. If we could just stall for a while, Yao Yao would be able to catch up eventually. As long as we didn't stray too far, she could still track us.
This Qi sensing technique was truly incredibly useful!
However, at this moment, I couldn't feel optimistic. Forced out of the car by female ninjas, it seemed they knew I wasn't very strong. So, they only sent one person to escort me and make me squat on the ground, while the other two, carrying samurai swords, rushed towards the fox demon not far away!
The fox demon had already transformed into a large fox. It was a bit strange. Its original form was a brown fox, but when it grew to a massive size, over two meters tall, its fur changed color and seemed to be enveloped by a layer of fluorescence. It clearly wasn't a normal animal.
It was just one big fox, not a clone. Why had its aura changed from "one demon" to "nine demons"?
I used my Qi sensing technique again and saw that there were indeed nine demons, with eighteen soaring blue Qi streams, shaped like a broom.
Soon, I discovered the trick: it wasn't that the fox had become nine, but its tail had split into nine. No wonder it looked so fluffy; it was nine large tails bundled together. The tips of the tails could clearly be seen to be multiple, and each tail tip was glinting coldly. As I looked closer, I saw that each one was holding a dagger!
Suddenly enlightened, I realized why the fox demon had ordered nine daggers from Jinqiangmen when I was ordering weapons for the Eight Demons. I had thought she wanted them as throwing knives, which was why she bought so many. I never expected them to be for hanging on her nine tails!
As the two female ninjas approached with their swords, the fox demon suddenly unfurled its nine tails. The shape resembled a peacock spreading its tail feathers, and the movement was a bit like a cat turning its head to see a cucumber, both magnificent and terrifying.
"Kyukyubikko!" one of the female ninjas exclaimed.
"Hehehe, you recognize this immortal?"
Good heavens, I was startled! Kun Kun, in its white fox form, could actually speak human language!
But her mouth didn't move. It might have been a ventriloquist-like technique, and her voice wasn't her human voice; it was low and cunning, neither male nor female.
One female ninja turned and said something in rapid fire to the ninja beside me. My ninja nodded, brought me over to the car door, and, like a magician, produced a thin, white plastic zip tie from herself, binding my wrists together. She then took another one and attached the zip tie around my wrists to a sturdy hook on the open car door. This hook was responsible for locking the car door, and without a gap, it was impossible to break free.
After securing me, the ninja stepped forward, and the three of them formed a triangular formation with their samurai swords, surrounding the fox demon.
During this time, there had already been several exchanges, all of which were standard pre-battle probes, attempts to intimidate each other, and exchanges of sarcastic remarks.
It seemed that this "martial custom" of pre-battle dialogue was quite popular in both ancient and modern times, and across different cultures. In the Hollywood movies I watched, the pre-battle dialogues between the protagonists and antagonists seemed even more extensive than those in *Yanxia*.
After finishing their pointless chatter, both sides began to engage. The fox demon was the one being surrounded, and its combat objective wasn't merely to escape. If it wanted to escape, it would have had opportunities long ago. It had to protect me. Fighting one against three meant that defeating its opponents first would be the greatest protection for me.
The female ninjas launched probing attacks. The fox demon's nine tails could not only stand erect but also extend to about five or six meters, becoming "tentacles" that, wielding small daggers, skillfully parried the attacks of the three ninjas from different directions. The white fox itself stood there, not even needing to move, appearing perfectly composed and certain of victory. However, even I, a low-level fighter, could tell that the fox demon was only defending passively and not actively attacking. Only when a ninja attacked would one of its tails lash out to block the opponent's weapon.
Why was this?
