While looking at the cars, the boss's phone suddenly rang, its ding-dong chime echoing through the room.
This was the second time, and the boss's expression shifted, showing impatience.
"Hello, didn't I tell you to handle that client yourself? Don't tell me you can't even manage this? Should I reasonably suspect your capabilities are lacking?"
On the other end of the line was the department manager. He was silent for two seconds but still seemed helpless.
"Boss, it's like this, this client absolutely refuses to talk to me, insists on seeing you, and said that if he doesn't see you, he won't buy the car, and your dealership might as well shut down. Judging by his demeanor, he might actually have the means..."
"That arrogant? He better be a billionaire, not just all talk."
"Oh, and he said he'll give you five minutes, no more, or he'll consider it a breach of contract, and then the next day he'll..."
"Enough, I want to see how capable he is. I've seen plenty of show-offs!"
Cao Baiming, standing not far away, heard this entire conversation clearly, not just the boss's words, but also those of the department manager on the other end of the phone.
He noticed the boss seemed to have specifically found a corner to speak in a low voice, likely not wanting Cao Baiming to overhear their conversation. But it was rather comical, as the entire showroom was like a giant speaker, amplifying any sounds within.
Coupled with the phone's volume turned up to maximum, it would have been exceptionally difficult for Cao Baiming, with his hearing ability, *not* to hear them.
Understanding the situation, he became even more convinced that someone was supposed to come look at cars at the same time today, and the boss's failure to greet him must have caused him to become anxious.
While the boss was still hesitating, Cao Baiming spoke up.
"Let's go see him. I'm bored anyway."
The boss's heart skipped a beat. Truthfully, more than that other person, he was more afraid of offending the one in front of him.
"But you haven't finished looking. This isn't right. He's not important, just making noise."
Just then, footsteps were heard from outside the room, followed by the sound of the showroom's glass door opening. Both men instinctively turned their heads in the direction of the sound. As expected, the department manager had brought the important client through the main entrance.
It would be more accurate to say that the department manager was following the important client like a subservient dog, head lowered.
However, this turned out to be convenient. There was no need to debate whether to find him or not, as the other party had come to them.
A faint smile played on Cao Baiming's lips. It seemed some interesting events were about to unfold here.
The boss's expression was extremely grim. This was the exact scenario he least wanted to see. If the two important clients got into an argument and both became enraged, losing two big deals would be the least of his worries. If they decided to retaliate later, his limited capabilities would offer no defense.
The business he was in probably seemed like child's play to these two individuals!
From a distance, Cao Baiming saw the man's appearance. He was tall and thin, wearing a shiny patent leather coat and shoes polished to a mirror-like sheen.
The man's face appeared very young, and he had a trendy haircut. Judging by his demeanor and actions, he looked to be in his early twenties.
So, a second-generation rich kid!
He wondered whose son it was, to be so arrogant. His family must all be like this.
Cao Baiming had seen countless people like him; he was used to it. He stood there silently, calmly looking at the cars. The lighting in the showroom was relatively dim, and the other party didn't recognize him.
This rich kid went straight for the boss. The closer he got, the faster he walked. To everyone's surprise, as soon as he opened his mouth, he grabbed the boss by the collar.
Cao Baiming watched from the side. At this moment, the rich kid hadn't noticed him at all. His entire attention was focused on the boss.
"Do you know what you did wrong? You promised to show me cars yesterday, didn't you? Why break your promise? Who do you think you are? Since I was born, you're the first person to treat me like this, understand?"
The boss's polite smile vanished instantly. The department manager, standing nearby, was at a loss and gently tugged at the rich kid's arm, trying to dissuade him.
However, he didn't dare to pull too hard.
After a moment of thought, the boss removed the rich kid's hand from his arm. He could feel that the young man didn't have much strength, but his anger had been ignited.
"I personally explained the situation to you this morning. Something new came up, and I really couldn't get away."
"This isn't your home. If you want to throw a childish tantrum, go home and do it."
The rich kid flew into a rage upon hearing this.
"Fine, you said that. I'll make a call right now, and with just one call, your dealership can be shut down tomorrow!"
"Still want to sell cars? Ridiculous!"
At this moment, the boss started to feel a bit panicked. He wasn't sure how powerful the rich kid's background was, but it sounded serious.
The momentary anger had led to this situation, and he was already making a call!
What should he do now? What should he do?
The department manager next to him was also stunned, completely bewildered. He knew he hadn't managed to control the rich kid today and had pushed him too far. This kind of incident was like a landmine; one might only step on it once in a lifetime!
Because once was enough to be ruined, where would a second chance come from?
During the tense seconds while the call was being dialed, both the boss and the manager calmed down.
Just then, the boss suddenly apologized, wanting him to hang up the phone.
As expected, the boss was the first to back down!
Cao Baiming watched from the side, thoroughly enjoying it, like watching a live-action TV drama.
However, as per convention, it was logically consistent. After all, rich kids never lost these kinds of arguments, no matter where they came from.
Their arrogant, condescending attitude meant they would never back down!
