Chapter 291 An Unexpected Auction

"I'd like to see if there are any new models. I'm running a bit low on cars now."

The boss understood Cao Baming's intention immediately. Having been in this business for a very long time, he could tell at a glance whether a visitor was rich or poor. Just from this one sentence, he knew the other party's purpose.

"You've come at the perfect time. We just received a large shipment last month. This entire batch is specially prepared for wealthy individuals like yourselves for collection. While I say that, they are by no means just for show. Their performance is top-notch, with each one boasting the world's most advanced configurations."

"Hearing you say that piques my interest. Please take me to see them then. Let's see if they're as good as you claim."

The boss hesitated for a moment. He was thinking about the VIP client who had scheduled an appointment for this very time. However, he couldn't possibly explain this to Cao Baming.

Compared to the VIP client, what was the probability that Cao Baming was richer? That probability was certainly not high.

"Alright, I'll take you there now. Allow me to lead the way!"

With that, the boss instructed Cao Baming to park the car in an open area under his guidance. Then, the two walked towards their destination.

Along the way, the car boss made a phone call, essentially informing a department manager to meet the VIP client in his stead. It was unavoidable. Since a bigger client had arrived, he couldn't have it both ways.

Even if the other party was unhappy, there was nothing to be done. After all, the rule of the world was survival of the fittest. When someone more formidable arrived, they naturally had to be prioritized.

With just a few simple words, the boss made his intentions clear. The department manager, being no fool, naturally understood the implied meaning behind the boss's words.

Although the boss spoke softly, Cao Baming's sharp perception and superior hearing picked up every word.

At this moment, he knew there was a competitor today, and it seemed the other party had quite a significant background.

This, however, only made Cao Baming's interest surge even more. He had been worried the car-buying process would be a bit dull today, but now it seemed heaven had arranged some excitement for him.

After a short two-minute walk, they arrived at the most luxurious VIP area in the entire complex. Inside a glass-enclosed space, an array of dazzling and spectacular models were parked.

Any one of these cars, if taken out individually, would cost tens of millions. Yet, an entire room was filled with them, with ample space in between.

The entire room was not set up like a typical car dealership or garage, crowded with merchandise. Instead, it resembled a gallery or an art exhibition hall. Each car had undergone special treatment, and the ambiance and lighting were meticulously designed by a professional decorator.

Upon entering this room, the atmosphere instantly felt vastly different from the outside.

A hint of satisfaction appeared on Cao Baming's face.

Before the boss could even begin his introduction, Cao Baming's gaze was immediately drawn to a bright red vintage sports car.

Although he couldn't see all the cars in the room at once, among those within his line of sight, this car was undoubtedly the most eye-catching and unique.

The boss, keenly aware of where Cao Baming's attention was directed, broke into a smile.

"Hahaha, distinguished customer, you truly have a discerning eye! This car is precisely the most expensive one in our entire dealership right now. Its price can even rival that limited edition Lamborghini you drove here."

"Oh? Is that so?" Cao Baming's eyes lit up with renewed interest.

"Indeed, indeed! Let me tell you, this car is extraordinary! It's a nostalgic super sports car specially produced by the manufacturer for their 100th-anniversary celebration. Although its exterior, design, interior, and even its engine model are all vintage, they have undergone special modifications. Its performance and configuration are absolutely the world's most advanced and latest in research and development technology."

"In other words, beneath this vintage exterior lies cutting-edge technology that is truly ahead of its time! Its existence is the epitome of understated luxury, perfectly matching your temperament, sir!"

Cao Baming nodded gently.

"Not bad. This car seems to have a connection with me. It feels like we have a telepathic bond. It seems reluctant to leave me. So, how about this? Let's buy this car first!"

A flicker of surprise, followed by immense joy, crossed the boss's face.

"You're this decisive? How long has it been since we last met? I'd almost forgotten how straightforward you are. Alright, this car's total value is twenty-two million. I don't need to ask about a down payment or installments, do I? I'm sure you don't need those."

"This car is indeed excellent. I'll buy it. Now, take me to see the others!"

The boss was just thinking that with Cao Baming so readily buying the car, he would have time to attend to the other major client. But upon hearing the subsequent words, he was taken aback and momentarily stunned.

"Oh, oh, alright, alright!"

By normal logic, after buying a car, one would leave. If someone wanted to continue looking, it was usually because the current option wasn't suitable. But for Cao Baming to buy one first and then say he wanted to continue looking – this was a first for the boss.

However, he certainly wouldn't refuse. After all, money was coming his way. He relied on one big deal a year for his livelihood; his regular income was negligible in comparison.

Following this, the two continued to browse the exhibition hall. The room was at least a thousand square meters in size, certainly enough to spend some time in.

As for the other matter, he would put it aside for now and let the department manager handle it.

After seeing the dazzling array of models, Cao Baming felt a surge of excitement, even wanting to buy half the room.

However, he reminded himself that he was saving money, not spending it, so being too extravagant wouldn't be wise.
