Chapter 307: I can be mind controlled?
"What the fuck?" Kai was in a void, similar to the one he was in when he died, and Leo revealed to him that he was his father. This time, however, everything was black. In the distance, there was a person walking toward him, but it was too dark to see what he looked like.
"It seems that my harpies have found you." The scarred man said as he looked Kai up and down. "Hmmm, you’re a lot weaker than I expected."
"Bitch, who the fuck are you?" Kai couldn’t even see the man’s face, and his voice wasn’t one Kai recognized.
"Oh, right, you may not remember me, but you’ll remember once I show you THIS!" The darkness around the man vanished, and Kai was able to see his ugly, disgusting face.
"Ew! Oh my god! That’s so fucking gross! You’re ugly as fuck! Dude! Why would you show me something like that?" Kai wished he could throw up, but he was in his spirit form.
The scarred man was confused. He was sure that Kai was one of the followers of Nemean and would recognize his face. The reaction from Kai was the exact opposite of what he expected.
"W-What do you mean? Do you not remember me?"
"Dude, put that shit away! My god, your face is fucking disgusting!"
"STOP TALKING ABOUT MY FACE!" The man screamed in anger. That was a sore spot for him.
The way the man’s contorted, scarred, burned, and mauled face looked was just the worst. He stopped talking about it, but the sight was stuck in his brain, and he wanted to dig it out.
"Do you seriously not recognize me? Does the name ’Narwhal’ ring a bell?"
Kai furrowed his brows. "You mean the whale?"
"Whale? Space whale?"
"There are space whales?"
Narwhal didn’t know what to make of Kai. His energy was also different from what he expected. His harpies told him that they found the energy of Nemean, but now up close, Narwhal could tell that Kai did not, in fact, have the energy of Nemean.
"Okay, fine. Do you know a person named Nemean?"
"Who the fuck names their child Nemean?" Kai responded
’Oh my gosh, this guy is totally clueless.’ Narwhal face-palmed his ugly face and just gave up. He had no idea why his radar was saying that Kai had the power of Nemean, but he clearly needed to fix them since they weren’t picking up on the energy signatures correctly.
"Can I go now? I was having an adventure with my friends, and you kind of interrupted that."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Just leave. Damn, and here I thought we had the right guy." Narwhal started walking away, and the darkness faded with each step he took. He didn’t think it was necessary to tell Kai that his friends would be dead because of him.

"H-How is he so strong?!" Barry was bleeding on the ground, his arm torn off, and his eye gouged out. He was barely holding on, barely any power left in his body, and he continued to battle Kai alongside everyone else.
Speaking of them, they weren’t doing any better either. All of them were beaten, bloody, and had more than a few broken bones.
Iris and Patty were out of commission, Nadya was barely holding on with healing everyone, Gwen, Amaya, Sasha, and Karumi were trying their best to hold Kai back, but it was a losing battle. Kyana tried everything she could to hit a vital spot to knock Kai out, but nothing worked.
"Kai! Please! Snap out of it!" Gwen clawed his face, but her hand broke on his face, so she breathed fire into his face, but again, nothing happened. He grabbed his arm, snapping it in half, and punched her so hard that if it wasn’t for Kai making all of his girls immortal, she would have died.
"Gwen’s out, Nadya!" Kyana fired an arrow directly into Kai’s eye at full power, and it vanished before it could even reach his face.
The flickering of space caught her off guard as Kai had teleported behind her, but she couldn’t react in time before Kai nearly ’killed’ her. It was thanks to Nadya that Kyana didn’t suffer any serious injuries, but she was still knocked out by Kai’s brutal punch to the gut.
"Dammit! Kyana’s down!"
Amaya, Karumi, and Sasha were all that was left. Nadya was too busy healing the others to help them out, and Barry could barely stand on his own.
"I’m sorry, my love, but I can’t let you harm anyone else!" Karumi’s massive form towered over Kai as she began charging up her most powerful attack. "Nadya, put up your most powerful barrier!"
Nadya did as she was told, and everyone besides Kai and Karumi was protected by her barrier.
Karumi’s tails curled over her head, and a ball of energy was formed over her mouth. The sky rumbled like a storm as her power continued to rise, and she even drew power from the spirit world to increase her strength.
"Forgive me." She fired the attack, and a cataclysmic explosion rocked the area, changing the weather and causing massive tremors.
Because of how powerful Kai’s boat was, it didn’t get harmed one bit, but just like the boat, Kai was perfectly fine, standing as if nothing had attacked him.
"N-No way! Even that didn’t work?" Karumi didn’t have anything else in her arsenal that was more powerful than the attack she just launched at Kai, and knew it was over after she saw it didn’t work against him.
Kai raised his index and middle fingers together, a disgustingly powerful form of energy being created out of nothing on them. It was pure destruction. Right as he was about to destroy everything, Kai suddenly passed out and dropped to the floor.
"This was unexpected." Leo and Cassie appeared in front of Kai, checking to see what was wrong with him.
Leo healed all of his companions, then made Kai float in the air as he examined his son.
"S-Sir Leo!" Sasha shouted. "Please help him! Something is wrong with Kai. He would never attack us! I-I think he’s under some kind of mind control!"
"Leo, are you going to allow this mortal to speak to you this way?"
"Save it, Cassie, we’re here for Kai. And yes, Sasha, I will help my son."
"Hmm?" Cassie noticed a white substance on Kai’s fingers and took a look at it.
"Birdpoop? No, this is primordial decay! Leo, what the hell is primordial decay doing on some backwater planet such as this?" Cassie became furious and nearly destroyed the planet during her fit of rage.
"I don’t know. This should be impossible." He checked the infinite verse, peering into the places where his vision was fuzzy and saw nothing. "I need to check a place out."
Leo touched Kai’s forehead, returning him back to normal before leaving.
