Chapter 314: Fight or Die
Finding the arena wasn’t hard. Kai simply had to make his way to the loudest place in the fort. Actually, the second loudest place in the fort. When Kai walked into the loudest place, he saw multiple men getting sucked off by goats.
"Awkward." He closed the doors and started looking around.
He didn’t even need to look around like he was doing. Simply using his X-ray vision and looking upward would have given him his answer. It took him way too long to even think about doing that.
"What the hell. I should have done that sooner." He flew through the ceiling, phasing through the layers until he was inside the arena. Since he was in the fighting section, he quickly teleported to the stands so he could get a better look at everything.
"YEAHHHH!"
"KILL HIM!"
"COME ON! YOU BETTER NOT LOSE!"
"I BET TEN GOLD ON YOU! I’LL KILL YOU IF YOU DIE!"
"Psst, hey, who’s fighting?" Kai asked one of the pirates.
"Huh? You serious? You don’t know who’s fighting?"
Kai looked down at the contestants, then back at the pirate. "Nope."
"Come on, Karlnut? The reigning champion? The prisoner who keeps beating his opponents and is able to stay alive because of that?"
"Ohhhh! Karlnut, yeah. I’ve heard of him before. You see, I’m new, so I still don’t know everything. It’s my first time seeing him as well."
"That makes sense. I bet ten gold on his opponent. He’s said to be able to crush any person he comes across, so if he wins, I get a big payout!"
’Gambling, huh?’
Kai watched the battle go on. Karlnut was a built man who looked to be in his thirties. He was clearly skilled and would be a threat if he could use mana.
His opponent, who was said to be called the ’Hippo,’ was a large man who looked like a sumo wrestler. Each step he took made cracks in the ground, and his attacks, while slow, were deadly.
Even for his size, he moved pretty fast.
The hippo charged at Karlnut, missing the graple, and was left trying to stop his momentum.
Karlnut had jumped out of the way and grabbed onto the hippo’s clothes, climbing onto his body, then elbowed the man in the head multiple times.
"Arghh! You little shit!" The hippo grabbed Karlnut, slamming him onto the ground.
The impact made a loud sound and cracked a few ribs in Karlnut.
"Hippo, Smash!" He clashed his hands together and slammed them down onto the ground, creating a large crater.
Karlnut managed to roll out of the way, even with his broken ribs, and regained his footing, but when he went to stand, he could barely do so.
He had landed on his leg when the hippo slammed him to the ground, causing his muscles to tear. His adrenaline was the only thing keeping him from screaming in pain.
"Dammit! My leg." He cursed.
"Haha! Do you need a doctor to look at that leg? Here, let me help. You wont need it if I RIP IT OFF!"
Upon seeing the hippo charge at him again, Karlnut tried to move out of the way, but he stumbled to the ground. Fear crept up his spine as he thought today would be the end of his win streak and his life.
But then, a soothing sensation blanketed his body like a warm cup of tea, and he felt his body mend itself. Quickly, he jumped out of the way to avoid the hippo.
’Hey, don’t be alarmed that a random person is talking in your head. You wont be able to beat the hippo because his muscles are too thick and he has a lot of meat on his bones. You need to strike at the soft spots of his body.’ Kai said in Karlnut’s head.
He liked the way he fought and thought he could become a good asset to Cornelia’s pirate empire. Normally, he would stay away from a person named Carl, but not all of them were bad.
’What should I do?’ Karlnut asked the voice in his head.
’Let him charge at you again. At the last moment, right before he grabs you, palm strike him in the nose. He’ll grab his face and stubble backward. During that time, kick the bitch in the nuts. No matter how hard we train, a man’s balls will always be his weak point.’
Karlnut flinched, but he understood.
’After that, the hippo will fall to his knees, and that’s when you need to nuckle strike his temple as hard as you can.’
’Temple?’
’The part of his head where the forehead meets the side of the head, then move a tiny bit down, right above the eye line.’
Karlnut nodded. ’Got it.’
"So you managed to move, huh? No matter. Let’s see how long you can stand on that leg!" The hippo charged once again, fully expecting to kill Karlnut this time.
Waiting for the right moment, Karlnut calmed his breathing and took a stance. The hippo thought he was crazy and welcomed the standoff.
The moment before he would be grabbed by the large hands of the hippo, Karlnut ducked out of the way, causing the hippo to stumble forward, then he palm struck him in the nose, breaking it.
"ARGGHHHH!!!!"
"Yeahh!!!"
"Nooooo!!!!"
Karlnut moved quickly, kicking the hippo as hard as he could in the nuts.
"Ooooo!!"
"Ouch!"
"Fuck, I wasn’t even the one who got kicked, but even I can feel that."
The hippo lost his breath, falling to his knees as he clutched his balls.
Finally, Karlnut kuckle punched the hippo in the temple as hard as he could, killing the man instantly.
"FOR THE 40TH TIME IN A ROW, I’M YOUR CHAMPION!" Karlnut stood on top of the hippo and raised his hands in the air as he celebrated his victory and another day of living.
"Okay, that was intense. This is some gladiator-type shit!" Kai felt so cool helping Karlnut. It reminded him of a movie he watched where a billionaire martial artist did the same thing.
"Fuck! My money! Noooo! I should have played it safe! Fuckk! My wife is going to kill me!"
Kai felt kind of bad. Karlnut was going to lose if he didn’t help him. Still, he needed the guy, so he had no choice. Well, he didn’t need him, but having him around would be pretty cool.
’Hmm? Oh shit, the Sweatii is at the cell now.’ Kai returned to his clone and watched as Sweatii stood above them with his angry, glowing eyes.
