Chapter 317: 313, why didn’t you say a word to me about coming here to work?

Wesley Foley was taken aback and looked at Felix Shaw with confusion. "You know each other?"

A hint of discomfort arose in his heart, for being "known" by such a promiscuous man seemed hardly a good thing.

Leaning against the back of the chair, Felix Shaw’s hands were crossed, his thumbs chasing each other unconsciously. His lips curved slightly, and his gaze at Titus Zane had an inescapable intensity.

In contrast, Nathan Moore appeared quite composed, pinching the teacup to his lips to take a small sip. However, his eyes flickered dodgily, as if unable to find a suitable resting place.

Titus Zane felt a sense of sorrow when looking at the two men opposite her, especially towards the one who was sipping tea.

He had come from so far just to cause trouble for her, and she couldn’t guess what he was up to.

Nevertheless, on the surface, she maintained a calm smile. She was already prepared for the worst—if Felix Shaw disclosed the relationships between them, then she could only "confide" her "miserable" experiences to Wesley Foley.

She knew this was risky, and Wesley might not pursue her as he did now. Still, Titus Zane believed her "miserable" experiences could better arouse a man’s compassion.

As each harbored their different thoughts, Felix Shaw began to speak leisurely, his peach blossom eyes fixated on Titus Zane.

"We’re from the same town. Although not very familiar with each other, we’ve had some interactions."

Wesley turned his gaze to Titus Zane, "So, you’re also from T city?"

Her ID card showed she was a citizen of the United States, and even her name was in English, so he had always believed she grew up abroad.

Titus Zane lowered her gaze, picked up the teacup in front of her, and smiled, "Yes, I was born in T city, but didn’t grow up here."

Watching the bittersweet smile on the lips of the woman beside him, unable to hide the desolation deep in his heart, even with his emotions contained, Wesley Foley suddenly stretched out an arm, placing it on Titus Zane’s shoulder, and gently patted it.

Nathan Moore continued sipping his tea but abruptly lifted his gaze at Wesley’s action. His eyes landed on Wesley’s hand, his pupils narrowing suddenly in a glare, his fingers tightening unconsciously around the teacup.

"Cough cough!" Felix Shaw coughed deliberately, and when Wesley turned his gaze back, Felix casually slung an arm aside, adopting a nonchalant and confident demeanor.

"This is my second brother, from T city..."

He had just started the introduction when a flash of mischief shone through Felix Shaw’s peach blossom eyes. He spread his hands in a casual manner and, diverting his gaze slightly, said, "Second brother, you’d better say it yourself, ’the bell ringer must untie the bell.’"

Wesley Foley was befuddled by Felix Shaw’s nonsensical words, although Felix was known to be flirtatious, he hadn’t seen him act so unreliable before.

While Wesley was still puzzled, he saw the man opposite put down his teacup and straighten his posture, reaching out with a hand in a gentlemanly and cordial manner.

"Hello, my name is Nathan Moore."

The low, polite voice made Wesley’s reaction somewhat slow, but he still shook hands with Nathan. If his memory served him correctly, the woman by his side seemed to be whispering this very name last night.

However, before he could react further, the hand Nathan Moore lightly held in his fingers was already withdrawn, his gaze returning to Titus Zane, his dark eyes warm.

"To come here to work and not even tell me about it,"

Though the words seemed reproachful, as they came from Nathan Moore’s mouth, his concern could not be concealed by his chiding tone.

Titus Zane was sipping her tea, head bowed, and Nathan’s sudden behavior took her aback. As she paused, cup at her lips, she lifted her eyes to him, to see Nathan Moore’s brow furrowed with reproof.

"Do you know how worried everyone at home has been?"
