Chapter 353. More Shameless

Chapter 353: Chapter 353. More Shameless

The whole of the Astral Empire was talking about one thing — the Society Wars happening today.

Various eyes were completely glued to various holographic screens.

In a military zone at the front lines of the empire, four individuals were seated around a table.

"You look so relaxed, Jackson."

Bianca couldn’t help but comment. She was worried about Kailen.

Kailen was strong for his rank, but the Society Wars was something else entirely.

Although during their time in the academy, Kailen’s parents had led the Darkhaven Society to victory, she had caught wind of the fact that this Society Wars would be extremely different from that one — through a few networks.

She didn’t know how different it would be, but she knew it would be very dangerous.

Also, their nephew had several society leaders ganging up on him.

This was not something to joke and laugh about.

"Do you think that kid will jump into something he’s not certain he can deal with?"

Jackson merely shrugged, eyes returning back to the betting website.

Yes, he was gonna place serious bets on the Sword Tribunal Society winning the Society Wars.

Bianca, on hearing his words, couldn’t help but relax.

From the short interaction with the kid, and the feats he had accomplished, there was one thing she had gleaned was common about him — he always had an ace up his sleeve, and was unpredictable.

He had the knack for pulling off the impossible.

Also, the kid was not stupid enough to venture into something he didn’t have any confidence in — not only surviving, but emerging victorious from.

Compared to her, the gentlemen had not been in the least bit worried.

Cyco grinned and shook his head, staring at Jackson with a helpless expression.

"You still haven’t changed. Still an addict gambler, huh?"

"See who’s talking."

Nuel retorted from the side, earning a shameless grin from Cyco, who ignored him.

A day prior, he had seen this fellow placing bets on the Sword Tribunal Society winning the Society Wars, and now he was here acting like a hypocrite, judging someone else for gambling.

"For the first time, I want to gamble," Bianca said.

She wanted to place a bet on Kailen?

Didn’t she stop gambling after losing a large amount of universe coins several years ago?

"What? You said I should have faith in the kid, so why are you all staring at me like you just saw a stranger?"

The three gentlemen looked at each other, then replied.

"Nothing really."

"Carry on."

"Fair point."

They were just surprised she had suddenly decided to engage in gambling after how much she lost from it some time ago.

There was no other reason for their reactions — simply surprise.

Just then, the picture of a senile old man with a shameless grin appeared on Jackson’s holographic screen.

"Senile old man. He probably heard I broke through."

Jackson accepted the video call with a smile, eyes revealing happiness that he could finally return the calls of his loved ones since he had accomplished his goal of breaking into the Galactic Level.

From the background, Jackson could see that Old Ha was currently in some sort of noisy place with a lot of flashing lights, jumping people from different races, and electric music playing in the background.

There was a beautiful lady with bashful cheeks, sipping some cocktail, clutching Old Ha’s hands seductively.

He gave the old man a weird look the moment he figured out what was going on here.

"Old man, what is an old foggy like you doing in the club? Can your late wife even rest in peace with you going on a hunt for young ladies all the time?"

Jackson said, with righteous spittle flying all over.

Had the screen not been holographic, the spittle would have even soiled it.

Contrary to what he wanted, the beautiful lady didn’t even get angry or feel weirded out and leave like Jackson expected.

Instead, she blew the vampire some sort of kiss — one that Old Ha felt gratified about.

"Heh." Old Ha scoffed at the stupid expression on Jackson’s face.

"Brat, I figured you’d start picking my calls now that you’ve broken through the Galactic Level."

He staggered slightly after downing some alcohol, then made a gesture as if he was tapping Jackson’s forehead.

"I suppose you are feeling more shameless than you usually do, huh? Thinking you are now stronger than me."

Jackson merely rolled his eyes — but then realization dawned on him.

"You broke through too. He sent you elixirs too?"

Jackson had received a talent-enhancing elixir from Kailen through Bianca and the two gentlemen when they came to the frontlines.

He didn’t know that Kailen had done the same for Old Ha.

It seemed he had really found a fine disciple.

"Hmph. Of course he did," Old Ha replied jokingly.

"I will let your disrespect slide because you found a fine disciple who has proven more useful than you ever will. The kid sent me some elixir that helped me break through with a solid foundation."

The lady clutched Old Ha’s hands more, on hearing that this mysterious middle-aged looking man was actually a Galactic Level lifeform.

She looked at Jackson in the video call, then looked at Old Ha again — and that was when realization dawned on her that she was currently flirting with the President of the Alchemy Association of the Empire, and the man in the call was Jackson Bloodfallen — his famed disciple, slaying Vimodials heroically at the Frontline.

She was about to ask for an autograph, when someone whispered—

"It’s about to begin."

"Damn it, I couldn’t place a bet!"

The two locked eyes from the opposite ends of the call for a moment before Old Ha commented,

"I see your friends in the background.Greet them for me. I need to enjoy the moments of my grand disciple making his grand opening before the empire with this beauty here, so... "

With that, Old Ha ended the call before Jackson could even respond.

Jackson merely chuckled, then returned to the others — whose eyes were completely fixed on their screens.

"Who was that?" Nuel asked.

"Old Ha," Jackson replied.

"Oh, should have let us say hi to him," Bianca added.

"Nah. He’s busy clubbing." Jackson chuckled.

"That old man is the coolest old dude I’ve ever met," Cyco, the quiet introvert, said.

Everyone looked at him with some sort of weird look.

Cyco raised his hands up slightly.

"What?"
