Chapter 1327: Chapter 1327: Big Brother’s Tenderness (Part 9)
Then, he held Jiaojiao in his arms and asked the same question, “Who are you going to sleep with tonight, sweetie?”
Recently, Jiaojiao had been sleeping with Xiu Xi, and the Ruan Family had tacitly accepted it, worried that they might not be able to keep her company.
But today was different. Everyone was sleeping in the same compartment, and the beds were just about a meter apart, so nothing should go wrong.
Jiaojiao was growing up fast and had experienced many things, so it had been a long time since she slept with the Ruanlin family. Hearing the question, she immediately said she wanted to sleep with her.
Upon hearing this, Ruanlin’s face beamed with smiles, but she still turned to ask Xiu Xi, “Xiaoxi, is it okay if Jiaojiao sleeps with me?”
Xiu Xi shook his head, but there was a hint of disappointment in his eyes.
There were six berths in the compartment, and the Ruan Family occupied five of them. There was still one vacant berth, so they spoke freely as a family, chatted for a while, and slowly went to sleep once the train started moving and the lights went off.
In the middle of the night, Jiaojiao woke up once to drink some milk, and Ruanlin Family took her to the restroom. The night passed like this.
When they woke up the next day, the train had just stopped at a station.
Shu Jiao and Ruan Jianguo quickly got off to buy some food.
Xiu Xi and Ruan Hao went to wash up.
Some people got on at this station, and their compartment’s vacant berth was occupied by a middle-aged man, who looked to be in his forties. He seemed gentle and refined but with a hint of melancholy between his eyebrows. It was as if he bore unresolved sorrows.
He didn’t appear to be good at interacting with others. When the Ruanlin Family was making goat’s milk for Jiaojiao, she kindly greeted him, but he merely nodded slightly without saying anything.
“Drink up, the temperature is just right,” the Ruanlin Family said, not minding at all while feeding the made-up goat’s milk to Jiaojiao. Seeing her drink joyfully with her small bottle, she smiled lovingly.
This caught the attention of the middle-aged man across from them. He seemed somewhat perplexed and asked the Ruanlin Family, “Ma’am, did you bring a cat on this trip?” And he seemed to think the cat was being pampered like a grandchild, which was quite puzzling.
“Haha, yes, it’s my granddaughter’s cat. She loves it and asked me to bring it along. I have to take good care of it. If she finds out I didn’t, she’d be upset with me,” the Ruanlin Family explained with a smile.
Seeing this, she casually asked, “Where are you heading to, big brother?”
“Beidu.”
“Oh, that’s great! We’re also heading to Beidu. It’s good to have company on the journey,” the Ruanlin Family said.
The middle-aged man smiled but didn’t say anything more, pulling out a book to read.
While drinking her milk, Jiaojiao glanced at the book cover but quickly lost interest and looked away.
Soon, Ruan Hao, who went to freshen up, and Ruan Jianguo, who had bought breakfast, came back.
Seeing the three of them, all striking with outstanding appearances and dispositions, the middle-aged man cast another look in their direction.
Ruan Jianguo carried a bunch of food, as the train attendant had mentioned that the stations where they would stop at noon were remote areas with nothing to buy, so he bought quite a lot, enough to take care of their lunch as well.
Seeing there was someone in their compartment’s vacant berth, he immediately greeted, “Brother, where are you off to?”
“Same as you, going to Beidu,” Ruanlin Family replied on behalf.
“Is that so? What a coincidence! These are all my family members. Our last name is Ruan. What’s your surname, big brother?”
“Just call me Feng.”
