Chapter 787: Chapter 787: Boss, Lend Me Some Golden Light

Elysia Xander’s disdainful gaze was too obvious. Scarlett Jennings glanced over and slightly curled her fingers.

The Demon Thunder, which had finished striking someone and was about to dissipate, suddenly split a strand that crept across the ground, coincidentally darting straight towards Elysia Xander.

Before Elysia Xander could react, the wandering lightning struck her fully, causing her to convulse and collapse to the ground.

Faced with Elysia Xander’s furious glare, Scarlett Jennings remained calm, muttering,

"This Demon Thunder is a bit hard to control; I need more practice."

Elysia Xander: ...

You did it on purpose!

Yet, she could not articulate any more words.

Scarlett Jennings, with assistance from the system, spent some effort to deal with another person. Then she turned to check on Magnolia Hearne, whose battle was evidently more intense than hers.

Magnolia Hearne had several wounds, even a trickle of blood at the corner of her mouth.

However, Addison clearly hadn’t gained much advantage either. While Magnolia Hearne’s clothes were just torn, Addison’s cloak was shredded by Magnolia Hearne’s Hurricane Talisman.

This incident allowed Scarlett Jennings and her companions to clearly see Addison’s true form.

Underneath her cloak, her body revealed several dark, gaping holes.

These were places Scarlett Jennings had once struck with lightning when she awakened her Demon Energy. The holes were pitch-black inside, as if filled with Black Mist.

Even though it wasn’t the first time seeing such a scene, Magnolia Hearne couldn’t help cursing, "Monster!"

After a pause, she added, as if still unappeased,

"You Ghost Fogs are all monsters! Instead of being decent people, you turn yourselves into this ghostly visage!"

Addison, seeing her true form exposed, was not embarrassed. Instead, she sneered coldly at her,

"Mind your own business."

"I have no interest in you! I’m just waiting for you to die one day so I can collect your corpse!"

After cursing, Magnolia Hearne lifted her hand and quickly pointed a Talisman in the air,

"Six Jia Yin Yang, Heaven and Earth co-exist, Five Stars Subdue Colors, Light Illuminates the Mystic Darkness, Where I Am, All Gods Bow, Hasten like a Decree!"

The Spirit Talisman transformed into a stream of Evil-suppressing Gang Qi, pressing firmly towards Addison.

The Black Mist around Addison transformed into a fierce beast, blocking the Gang Qi relentlessly.

The two sides struggled against each other, neither yielding an inch.

Scarlett Jennings seized the opportunity, sending a Demon Charm infused with demonic power straight at Addison.

The Spirit Talisman transformed into a Demon Form, pressing towards Addison’s Black Mist in tandem with Magnolia Hearne’s Gang Qi.

The beast within the Black Mist was instantly torn apart by the Demon Form.

Meanwhile, the Gang Qi directly targeted Addison’s face. As Addison retreated several steps, realizing she couldn’t avoid it, she gritted her teeth and thrust her hand into the hole where the Black Mist gathered in her chest.

Scarlett Jennings watched as, with Addison’s movement, the Black Mist inside what was once a pitch-black body started to turn red, as if soaked with blood.

Upon seeing this, Magnolia Hearne’s expression turned grave. Without hesitation, she pulled back quickly with Scarlett Jennings, Samuel Chalmers, and the little turtle, quickly erecting a Barrier.

The next moment, Addison drew her hand out of the hole in her body. Accompanied by her motion, red Blood Mist gushed out, enveloping her and quickly surging towards Scarlett Jennings and the others.

This was Scarlett Jennings’s first time seeing such Blood Mist, yet her intuition told her it was more troublesome than Black Mist.

Indeed, when the Blood Mist struck Magnolia Hearne’s Barrier, it didn’t dissipate. Instead, it circled the Barrier as if waiting for an opportunity to move.

At this moment, caught in place, Elysia Xander and Diana Craig, not covered by the Barrier, were quickly enveloped by the surging Blood Mist.

The ice that had trapped Diana Craig crawled onto the Blood Mist, slowly turning red. Just as the Blood Mist was about to invade Diana Craig’s body, Addison raised a hand, encapsulating Diana Craig in Black Mist and tossing her behind her.

Elysia Xander watched in surprise, thinking Addison would also take her away like Diana Craig. However, Addison simply stopped after rescuing Diana Craig.

Stunned, Elysia Xander was soon enveloped by the Blood Mist.

Her body seemed to rust from the inside out, feeling her internal organs torn open, the pain overwhelming her, causing her to scream miserably,

"Ah... Save me..."

Though just struck by lightning recently, which only caused momentary numbness, the Blood Mist that seemed to penetrate her whole being was slowly consuming her life force.

Yet, Addison remained unmoved.

Diana Craig was the Array Starter she intended to take with her, but Elysia Xander... a traitor of the Mystical Sect, now a tool of no further use, wasn’t worth her effort.

Scarlett Jennings watched Elysia Xander’s skin ooze mold-like red spots, taken aback,

"What is this thing?"

Magnolia Hearne’s eyes flashed coldly, "It’s Blood Mist formed after absorbing a plague, Addison’s unique killing move."

Every person’s Black Mist in the Ghost Fog is formed by absorbing something unique.

They all look like Black Mist, but the substance within differs completely.

Addison’s Ghost Fog is the most troublesome Magnolia Hearne has ever encountered, and the one she least wishes to face.

Because once Addison releases Blood Mist, although a Barrier can block it, the floating Blood Mist remains a walking plague.

Once infected, within less than an hour, one will perish from the plague.

It’s virtually an absolute viral body.

"A plague?" Scarlett Jennings looked at Magnolia Hearne, "Will the Plague Extinguishing Spell work on her?"

Magnolia Hearne was taken aback, looking at her daughter, blinking.

She had tried using the Plague Extinguishing Spell to disperse the residual Blood Mist after Addison released it.

But never had she used it directly on Addison herself.

"It’s worth a try."

The mother and daughter shared a glance, reaching a consensus.

Before making her move, Scarlett Jennings suddenly turned and stretched out her hand towards Samuel Chalmers, "Samuel Chalmers, lend me some Golden Light."

Samuel Chalmers’s Golden Light had purifying abilities that could prove useful against such viral entities.

Magnolia Hearne hadn’t understood what borrowing Golden Light entailed, until she saw Scarlett Jennings scoop up a handful from Samuel Chalmers’s extended hand.

She focused her attention just in time to see Scarlett scoop a handful of Golden Light from Samuel’s hand.

The pure and meritorious Golden Light danced in Scarlett’s palm.

Half of it she quickly grasped within her palm, while the other half she naturally slapped onto herself.

Magnolia Hearne was dumbfounded.

Is Golden Light something that can be plucked like that?

Before she could react, she felt something permeating her whole being.

Magnolia Hearne sensed a sudden surge in her mind, her previously drained Spiritual Power instantly replenished.

In that moment, she realized where the little turtle’s sudden energy burst had originated from.

However, she had no time to ponder deeply, as the Barrier was weakening under the Blood Mist’s corrosion.

Scarlett Jennings and Magnolia Hearne seized the opportunity.

As the Barrier dissipated, the two moved simultaneously, forming mantras and chanting in unison,

"Primordial Green Talisman Order, Cave Abyss Punishment... Weapons of billions, true spirits emerging, wind blades testing the body, a thousand deaths no regrets...

Extinguish!"
