Chapter 199: Claudia Having a Bad Mood?!
"I told you, don’t be too cocky..." Sheva sighed helplessly as Claudia was in a pretty sour mood. "The first game doesn’t mean anything; everything could happen in the later stage of the tournament, you know that, right?"
"I know, I know! Stop nagging at me!" Claudia pouted indignantly at Sheva’s words
"Ia..." Anna narrowed her eyes dangerously, not liking the rudeness that the little girl showed to the one who was concerned about her.
"I know, I know! I cannot be rude to her, right?!" Now, Claudia was being petulant here. Still seeing that she avoided everyone’s gaze, Sheva knew that the little girl felt guilty about her childishness here.
Well, not that he could blame her, as the girl was in a very good mood earlier in the day after winning the game against Anna, just to be beaten black and blue by the two veterans in the group. Irene and Medina sure didn’t show any mercy when they were paired against her.
"Oh, well... Should Anna lose deliberately in the next—"
"Don’t you dare finish that sentence!" Claudia suddenly snapped when she heard about what Sheva was about to insinuate here. The girl glared fiercely at Sheva, looking at him as if the boy had just offended her entire family. "The one who will win this tournament is going to be either me or Big Sis, so don’t you dare suggest that she lose deliberately like that!" She slammed the table they were currently sitting in, walking away in anger while also leaving both Sheva and Anna dumbfounded there.
"Sorry about her..." In the end, Anna couldn’t help but sigh helplessly. "I love Ia to death, but her teenage temper sometimes could be a bit too much to handle." It seemed that this was not the first time the big sister received Claudia’s rage.
"Eh, don’t worry about it. The joke I throw also seems to be inappropriate and not well-received. No wonder she is angry..." Sheva shrugged nonchalantly, not taking the scene that had unfolded in front of him earlier to heart. "Anyway, while the ideal state is to be calm and composed, getting angry is still better than being too depressed. At least, anger could still be a good motivation here."
Anna was stunned at how easily Sheva could shrug this off. After a while, she finally sighed one more time, muttering lowly, "You sure are being too nice to Ia and me, you know?"
Meanwhile, after walking away from her big sister, Claudia also fell into depression. She knew that Anna and Sheva meant well, and the girl was also conscious enough to know she was being a brat here. She also shouldn’t be that furious over Sheva’s poor joke. Yeah, it was a bad one, but not enough to trigger her anger. Still... The anger bubbling inside her teenage heart was too much for her to handle, and the next thing the girl knew, she snapped.
"Oh, God... What am I doing..." She covered her face in... Shame? Anger? Claudia herself didn’t know what to feel right now. "This is so embarrassing..."
"Ia? What’s wrong?" Suddenly, someone greeted her, and when she turned around, the girl could see Bagas, the one who was responsible for the media and also Sheva’s best friend, walking in her direction. He brought a bag full of snacks, and after seeing Claudia in a bad mood, the fat boy couldn’t help but offer, "Want some?"
Claudia had half of her mind to refuse the offer. Unfortunately, before the girl could say anything, her stomach betrayed her first, as it growled pretty loudly. There was an awkward silence between those two, with Claudia’s face flushing in embarrassment.
’Oh, God... This is definitely the worst day of my life...’ She wanted to cry on the spot.
Fortunately, with his experience of handling his girlfriend, Bagas didn’t laugh at her, just standing still and offering his snack to the girl. "Here, take this. Also, it might not be enough to fill up your stomach, but I have a chocolate bread if you want. Eat it, you will need to refill your energy after such a long day."
Just within a second, Claudia was already struggling to keep all the food that Bagas put in her hand. Still, she was touched by the gesture here, and somehow, the girl became too emotional, started crying on the spot. Claudia didn’t know what she did to deserve having Sheva and Bagas in her life like this. They were definitely the kindest friends / big brother figures that she could’ve hoped for in her life, not just for her, but also for Anna as well.
"So, what is bothering you?" Bagas couldn’t help but ask as he saw the girl enjoying the snack here.
Claudia paused for a moment, seeming to think whether she would tell him what was going on or not. However, she felt like her mood was getting better after eating something, so the girl let the story out of her mouth pretty easily. She also didn’t expect that telling someone about this matter would be a huge relief for her heart.
"...What do you think, Brother Bagas? Should I apologize?" Even though Claudia knew she would have to do that later, the girl still wanted to hear Bagas’s opinion. To her surprise, though, Bagas shook his head pretty quickly.
"To your sister? Yes. But to Sheva? I don’t think you need to do that." Said the fat boy. At Claudia’s confused gaze, he added, "Don’t worry about him. Although Sheva has a vicious mouth, he is always reasonable. He would understand your current mood, and based on your story, he likely is going to be the first one to apologize. That is how he is."
"Is that so..."
"Well, if you still feel guilty, you can apologize to him later. I am sure Sheva will appreciate it." Bagas added again. "However, you know one thing that he would appreciate more here?"
"What?" Claudia asked in confusion.
"It is to see you thriving in this tournament." He tapped her forehead with his finger playfully. "You might not notice it, but Sheva really cares about you and your sister. Seeing you both getting better will always make his eyes light up in delight. So, adjust your state, and try to get a good result, okay? If not for yourself, at least, try to make him proud, so I am sure he will appreciate it."
