Chapter 151: _ Lies And Truth
Sierra continues without stuttering, her doe eyes huge and glistening. "She said she wanted to film a little video for her boyfriend. She claims she met him in the pack. I didn’t ask questions. I thought it was harmless."
Ginny nods solemnly, as though she were the innocent witness to the whole saintly exchange.
"But then," Sierra presses a hand to her heart, pausing as if the memory pains her deeply, "I found out this so-called boyfriend was trying to blackmail her with that very video. Turns out she made some personal adult videos for him."
Between hers and Corvin’s eyes, Heidi isn’t sure which bulges higher. Heidi can’t comprehend the absolute lie spilling from the mouth of this obnoxious, filthy, and despicable bitch.
She borrowed her phone to make a video? Really?
Sierra goes on. "And Heidi, she came running to me, begging me to delete it from my phone so she could claim it was photoshopped. That it wasn’t her. That it was all edited."
Corvin’s brow lifts. The room fills up with tension. Heidi feels every eye prick her skin like needles. She is so caught off guard that she doesn’t even know what to say and remains motionless.
Sierra’s tone grows righteous. "When I refused—because I respect the truth, Master Corvin, and besides, my mother already knew about it... Heidi snapped. She went feral. She attacked us, beat us, and even broke my phone in her rage."
Oh, NO! Heidi’s mouth set in a hard line, fighting every fiber in her wanting to smash Sierra’s head in at that moment. However, she knows she has to control her temper. She can’t afford a mistake here right now. It’ll cost her. Definitely.
Maribel groans softly as if her ribs ache in memory. Ginny lets out a fragile whimper. Ivy, catching on, rubs her own jaw and mutters, "She was ruthless."
The four of them form a symphony of victimhood.
And Heidi... Heidi’s blood boils so hot she can almost hear it sizzling. Her wolf snarls: "They paint you a liar. They paint you filth. Rip their tongues out."
’Shut up’, she thinks desperately, but her claws itch at her sides.
She wants to laugh. She wants to scream. She wants to point out that she has never, not once in her life, borrowed Sierra’s phone. That the idea of her filming a boyfriend video, when she barely survives each day at the Castells’ without getting shredded, sounds like the worst bad joke.
Instead, she bites down on her tongue so hard she tastes her own blood.
Corvin steeples his fingers. "This... is your claim?" His tone is skeptical, but not dismissive.
It’s as if even he knows none of these spoiled brats can be nice enough to borrow a Moon Blessed their phone, but then, their parents are donors of the school, so they must be pampered even here.
Whatever they say, no matter how many lies it is, goes.
"Yes, Master Corvin." Sierra nods earnestly, wincing as though moving hurts her. "We didn’t want to involve anyone. But when she started tearing at our clothes, clawing, breaking things—we feared for our safety."
Heidi’s wolf laughs bitterly in her chest. "You see? They make their court. They sing their lies. And you stand here mute. Do you enjoy chains, little wolf?"
Her fists clench. The bruises across her knuckles throb.
She imagines for one blissful moment what it would feel like to rake Sierra’s perfect little tragic face right across Corvin’s as oak desk, scatter her lies with blood and teeth. But no—that’s exactly what they want. They want her to snap and prove them right.
Corvin’s eyes flick back to Heidi, sharp as razors. "You deny this?"
She doesn’t respond straight away.
Heidi lifts her chin and sighs deeply. "I deny all of it. Every single word she just spat out is a lie."
Gasps flutter from the girls, perfectly timed. Ginny clutches Sierra’s arm as though scandalized by Heidi’s audacity.
"Really?" Sierra lets her lip quiver, playing the role of the betrayed saint. "You’d stand here, after everything, and still deny it? Even when we all saw you?"
"You didn’t see me borrow your phone because I never did!" Heidi snaps before she can leash herself. Her claws glint in the low light as they slip half out. "You’ve been harassing me since the second I stepped foot in your house and in this school. You corner me, you set me up, you harass me, you attack me, you try to break me down. Today I fought back. That’s the truth.
Her wolf howls. "Yes, girl! Spill it. Burn their lies."
But Corvin’s face is blank. His eyes flick between the girls and Heidi like a pendulum measuring lies and half-truths.
Sierra, seeing her performance slipping, raises her voice. "You’re calling me a liar? In front of Master Corvin? After you clawed me, broke my phone, and nearly stripped us in public?"
The crowd’s whispers still seem to echo in Heidi’s skull. They’ll eat this up. They’ll believe Sierra’s version because it’s glossed, rehearsed, and she is the Delta’s daughter.
Heidi’s wolf growls again. "No one will save you unless you fight, Heidi!"
She’s got four powerful mates. At least, one of them should make himself useful and get her out of this mess, right? But Heidi knows better than to count on those jerks, and one wrong move in this office could seal her fate for good.
She steadies her breath. Her heart beats so loud it might crack her ribs, but her voice, when she speaks again, doesn’t shake.
"She’s twisting it. Everything they’ve said is twisted." She glares at Sierra, fire sparking behind her bruised eyes. "I don’t need to invent a boyfriend to explain why I fought. I fought because you and your little pack of dolls pushed me one time too many. You gave me a feminine wash, told me to use it, and to scrub my pussy well. Then, you planted your phone to film me in the process."
She turns to Master Corvin, eyes glossy with angry tears. "Sierra and her friends have been blackmailing me with the video ever since, sir. A situation she set up and manipulated."
Sierra scoffs, hand fluttering to her chest like she’s been wounded. "You see, Master Corvin? She has no shame, adopting such language in your presence!"
Corvin leans forward now, elbows braced on the desk, chin resting on his knuckles. His gaze goes straight through Heidi.
"That’s enough." He finally finalizes.
The room stills. Even the clock seems to pause mid-tick.
Corvin’s eyes flick to Sierra and her crew before going back to Heidi. "You’ve both told your stories. Now, I want evidence to back up each party’s claims. This is a serious case, and I hope you all understand the gravity of it. Blackmailing? The making of an adult-rated video?"
Corvin’s fists crash down on the desk like a thunderclap, papers lifting in the shockwave. "I swear to you, the one with the least evidence will take the fall. I’m going to show you why your dignity as she-wolves is important as students of this school and members of this pack!"
