Chapter 110: Into The Woods.

Within moments, Emira had been carried into the woods and just as she felt all the blood rushing into her face, Prince Zen bent at the waist and tossed her unceremoniously onto the hammock strung between two trees. The ropes moved under her weight and as she tried to straighten, the man pushed her over and climbed onto the hammock, making it dip sharply as if swayed backward and forward.

In the next minute, he pressed his face into the crook of her neck, and Emira stilled. She tried to wriggle away from him but the hammock offered her no purchase. In the next minute, he bit her shoulder lightly and ordered,"Stop moving, little fire, unless you really do want to get fucked..."

Emira stilled. So, for now, he was not going to... have his way with her?

She felt him move then, as he inhaled forcefully and could not help herself. She threaded her fingers through his hair and caressed his head gently.

He shuddered and she wondered what was going on. For something to have provoked him like this...

Before she could think deeper, however, he kissed her neck, just on top of her scar and blew on it gently. She shivered.

"Being an Omega is a blessing. To always be able to welcome your Alpha’s touch... is a power that only Omega’s hold, Emira. The ways of the Moonville Pack are foolish and ancient. You think it is your body that reacts to my touch... but the truth is, the more you react to my touch, and release those pheromones, the more you have me under your control... Our animal instincts are stronger than our human ones, Emira. And in the animal world, this is your power. Don’t be ashamed of using it. Don’t be ashamed of your arousal."

Emira stilled as she heard the whispered words. Not just because of what he said... but from the realisation that he had heard Lyra’s words and understood her own hurt.

But she was not yet ready for this talk, so she decided to shift the topic, " I thought you brought me here to fuc* me?

He smiled at her words and she felt the smile against her skin as he answered without opening his eyes. "Hmm. Disappointed, are you?"

Emira hurriedly shook her head. "No no. I am not disappointed at all. I thank you for not having your wicked way with me."

Zen smiled then and turned his head slowly, letting his hand trace the side of her hips as he said, "You’re being thankful too soon. We’ve just come here, there’s still a long time for me to have my way with you, little fire. I like getting burnt a bit..."

Emira stilled for a moment... Why was the Prince behaving oddly today? She felt unsure whether to believe his teasing words or take them as another threat.

Before she could think more, he moved again. She stiffened as his body slid lower and then his head was resting heavily against her breast. The suddenness of the movement robbed her of breath. She felt the warmth of his cheek pressing through the thin fabric and her own heart started to race.

Her lips parted in shock. "Wh–what are you doing?" she whispered, her hands frozen at her sides.

He didn’t answer immediately. Instead, his other hand moved with slow, deliberate confidence, caressing the curve of her other breast, his thumb brushing lightly as if testing her. Emira’s heart leapt into her throat, and for a wild second she thought he was about to make good on his earlier threat.

But his touch lacked the urgency she had expected. Instead, it felt... distracted. Lazy. His lips parted against her chest, and in a low, almost drowsy voice he muttered, "Hmph... need to put more flesh on you... too small like this..."

Her eyes widened. Was he talking about her? Stunned, she found herself unable to come up with a reply. And by the time she found her voice again and was about to snap at him, she suddenly realised he had fallen asleep. On top of her. With his head on one breast and his hand on the other. She was stunned. This was unbelievable...

Tentatively, her hands came up to caress his head. This sensation of being held, without any desire... was almost comforting. It reminded her of the gentle way he had held her during the heat as well. She’d thought he had done that to comfort her but now... it seemed he liked to hold onto someone too when sleeping...

But as her hands caressed his hair, she could not help but ponder his words. Their animal instincts were stronger. But she didn’t even have an animal...

At the thought, she heard a low scratch of protest in her mind and scoffed. "You think you can convince me you’re really a wolf? If you are, then why not come out?"

Her ’wolf’ ignored her words and simply closed its eyes, letting her know that she was not going to do anything due to her provocation. But in fact, she only felt bitter inside.

Because she really did not believe that she had a wolf. As far as she was concerned, she’d just developed an inner voice to fool herself into believing that she had a wolf.

Just then, Prince Zen stirred and Emira hurriedly tried to calm her emotions. But he simply nuzzled close to her and asked sleepily," What are you thinking? Your scent just turned sour..."

Emira giggled. As if their scent could change. Unknown to her, what Prince Zen had said was real. While the scent could not change in essence, it could be coloured with what the other person was feeling... It was his sensitivity to scents that made him a good hunter.

"I’m just thinking, I don’t even have a wolf." Emira said softly, not wanting to break this peaceful atmosphere with a lie."

She felt him smile against her and say," Of course you have a wolf. She is golden and beautiful. The most beautiful wolf I have seen."

Emira stilled at the words and hurriedly looked down while her wolf seemed to be gloating in her mind... What did he mean by that?

But as she stared at the top of his head and his still closed eyes, she told herself to calm down. He’d probably said the words just to pacify her and give her hope...
