Clang!
Bai Ye once again slashed out with his saber, clashing against the golden armored warrior's mace, producing a piercing screech!
In the next instant, the golden mace suddenly snapped into two pieces!
A vibrating serrated blade was entirely different from a non-vibrating one; their destructive power was on completely different levels.
After cleaving the golden mace, Bai Ye followed up with a strike to the golden armored warrior's chest. As the serrated blade swept across, the golden armored warrior's arm flew off, tumbling through the air.
Bai Ye pressed forward, but just as he was about to pursue, the silver armored warrior's dual sabers attacked, erupting in a flash of sword light before Bai Ye.
"Ningshuang, Ice Barrier!"
The Ningshuang Sword suddenly transformed into a sword light and landed before Bai Ye. Silvery-white frost mist materialized and spread outwards.
Crack, crack!
The sound of ice forming echoed, and immediately, a wall of ice rose from the ground, blocking Bai Ye's path.
The silver armored warrior's dual sabers struck the ice barrier, scattering countless frost flowers, but they could not pierce the ice wall. On the other side of the ice wall, Bai Ye revealed a ferocious grin and thrust his serrated blade forward.
Almost instantaneously, the serrated blade pierced the ice wall, then followed through to impale the silver armored warrior's abdomen,貫穿 (guànchuān - to pierce through) his midsection with a single blow.
"Die!"
Bai Ye roared, pulling his serrated blade sideways. He slashed through the silver armored warrior and the ice wall alike.
Boom!
The ice wall shattered, crashing to the ground and instantly turning to powder. As the ice wall collapsed, the silver armored warrior's body toppled backward, landing with a thud.
Bai Ye leaped up, stepping over the shattered ice on the ground, then brandishing his saber, he swiftly charged towards the golden armored warrior.
Clang!
A distance of one and a half meters!
The golden armored warrior swung his broken halberd, colliding with the serrated blade once more. The result was that the already broken golden halberd was instantly sliced shorter.
Bai Ye gritted his teeth and exerted more force. The serrated blade descended, plunging into the golden armored warrior's neck, and then slanted downwards, cleaving the golden armored warrior's body in two.
"You have killed the Golden and Silver Armored Warriors and obtained Yin Yang Qian Yuan Water."
Bai Ye plunged his serrated blade into the ground, using it to support his body as he gasped for breath. Then, he opened his palm, revealing a small white porcelain bottle.
Bai Ye helped those people depart not out of noble intentions, but because…
Forbidden Zone Quest 2: Extinguish the Nine Dragon Yin Yang Candles in the tomb chamber. Reward: Golden Chain Mail x1.
Among the three forbidden zone quests in the Tomb of King Huainan, Quest 3 involved dealing with King Huainan, which was straightforward. Quest 1 was also simple, requiring the defeat of fifteen tomb-guarding spirit monsters within the tomb. The only difficulty was that if too many people entered a particular path, there might not be enough spirit monsters to kill.
Quest 2, however, was somewhat troublesome. To extinguish the Nine Dragon Yin Yang Candles, one first needed to locate the tomb chamber containing them. Furthermore, ordinary methods were insufficient to extinguish them. Extinguishing the Nine Dragon Yin Yang Candles required Yin Yang Qian Yuan Water, which was in the possession of the Golden and Silver Armored Warriors.
Therefore, this Quest 2 was essentially a trap. Those who only aimed to pass through the main hall would miss the opportunity to complete Quest 2.
Moreover, if the stalemate continued and more people arrived, the Golden and Silver Armored Warriors would cease to be a threat. Most would likely gang up and kill them, but there was only one portion of Yin Yang Qian Yuan Water, and the Nine Dragon Yin Yang Candles could only be extinguished once. One could imagine the bloodshed that would ensue.
"As expected, I am truly a good person," Bai Ye mused, clicking his tongue twice. "How many people did I save!"
After surveying his surroundings, Bai Ye walked towards the side, rather than directly entering the passage.
The passage straight ahead led to King Huainan's tomb chamber. Bai Ye's current destination was the tomb chamber containing the Nine Dragon Yin Yang Candles.
Although his ultimate goal was to obtain the Five Spirit Plate, King Huainan was not easily dealt with. Therefore, Bai Ye was fine with letting these people find King Huainan's tomb chamber first. He could fully obtain the Golden Chain Mail and then rush over.
"After all, the Golden Chain Mail is quite a good item," Bai Ye muttered as he approached the side of the main hall and looked at the oil lamps on the wall. "I recall it's the seventh one?"
As Bai Ye spoke, he grabbed the seventh oil lamp and forcefully pulled it downwards. A sound of mechanical springs turning followed, and a section of the wall slowly slid inward, revealing a secret passage.
Bai Ye took the oil lamp and entered the secret passage. After about fifteen minutes, a tomb chamber appeared before him.
This was the tomb chamber King Huainan used to store burial objects. One could see rotten chests placed around the chamber, with countless gold and silver treasures scattered out, filling every corner.
However, these items were now akin to dirt in Bai Ye's eyes. Outside the world battlefield, gold and silver were coveted by all, applicable to every world. But on the world battlefield, these things were worthless; no amount of gold and silver could buy a life.
Bai Ye's target was hanging directly in front of the tomb chamber…
That lamp!
It was an ancient decorative lamp, also known as a flower lantern. It had a bamboo frame supporting nine sides, each covered with fine silk cloth. Furthermore, on each side, different images of true dragons were painted: some soaring through clouds, some churning the seas, some dwelling among mountains, and some roaming beyond the sea of clouds.
However, if it were merely a beautiful decorative lamp, it would not be so significant. One must remember that King Huainan was a prince who was fond of seeking immortality. Therefore, the Nine Dragon Yin Yang Candles were not ordinary burial goods but, like the Five Spirit Plate, were treasures collected by King Huainan.
So, the lamp itself was not important; what mattered was the Nine Dragon Yin Yang Candles placed inside the lamp!
Bai Ye took out a playing card and flicked it. Under the control of his paper god ability, the playing card spun rapidly and flew towards the decorative lamp.
Just as the spinning playing card was about to strike the decorative lamp, the Nine Dragon Yin Yang Candles within the lamp suddenly ignited.
As the flames flickered, dragon roars echoed within the tomb chamber. Following that, the nine small dragons painted on the lamp came alive, emerging from the lamp. Each was about ten feet long, their claws and teeth bared as they flew towards Bai Ye.
Bai Ye was prepared. Before the nine dragons could fly out, he had already darted to the side, maneuvering to approach the decorative lamp. Simultaneously, the Ningshuang Sword beside him transformed into a silver sword light and shot forward.
"Ningshuang, Sword Illusion Frost!"
Crack, crack!
The sword light of the Ningshuang Sword suddenly exploded, and a vast expanse of silvery-white frost spread outwards. The nine small dragons flying towards Bai Ye were instantly frozen over with a layer of frost, and their speed began to slow.
At this very moment…
Bai Ye crouched low, leaping out like a leopard.
