The warrior took a deep breath and after a moment's thought, felt he should continue speaking.
No matter what, his own life was important, and besides...
The warrior glanced down at the equipment he had removed.
He had intentionally removed his gear to lower Bai Ye's guard. This was partly to reduce the tension of their current standoff, and partly to prevent Bai Ye from discovering his little trick. Though the gear was off, his communication device was still active.
That's right, the warrior had called for backup!
So, all he needed to do was stall for a bit until others arrived.
In that case, sharing some intel wouldn't hurt. After all, if he ended up killing Bai Ye, what would be the point of knowing the intel?
"You must have seen the data on this restricted zone, haven't you?" the warrior said. "Right?"
Bai Ye nodded, emphasizing again, "But I'm not asking about the restricted zone itself. I want to know what happened in this area?"
The warrior replied, "That's what I'm talking about. I think the situation in this area has changed due to our arrival, but it's not directly related to us. Well, you can think of it this way: if this were a story, the plot has been altered because of it."
Bai Ye pondered for a moment, then shook his head, "I don't understand."
The warrior explained, "I don't know if you've noticed, but the World Battlefield is comprised of many different zones, and these zones actually exist within various worlds, or once existed within various different worlds."
Bai Ye interrupted, "I know that."
The warrior nodded. "Kelt, Cat Face, and Scar. To me, they are real people who lived about three hundred years ago. They were exceptionally talented young elites back then, especially Kelt and Scar, who were considered to be potential elite Predators. But unexpectedly, they didn't even complete their coming-of-age ceremony. And this restricted zone is the story of their unfulfilled coming-of-age ceremony..."
"Regarding their coming-of-age ceremony and the underground pyramid ruins..." Bai Ye interrupted. "I have a general idea, so you can skip this part."
The warrior shrugged and continued, "Then there's our appearance. My companions and I are all Chosen Ones. According to the restricted zone data, the Predator commander dispatched a large number of Predators back to their homeland to search for Kelt, Cat Face, and Scar, and to confirm if a new Alien Queen had been born. This is both correct and incorrect."
Bai Ye asked, puzzled, "What do you mean, both correct and incorrect?"
The warrior explained, "The incorrect part is that we are Chosen Ones, unlucky souls forcefully sent into the World Battlefield. How could we possibly be dispatched by the Predator commander? Moreover, does the Predator commander even have the ability to send Predators into the World Battlefield?"
Indeed, he couldn't. The selection process for the World Battlefield seemed to have no logic; it merely plucked a group of people from various worlds and threw them in.
In the early days, there were indeed some who wanted to enter the World Battlefield voluntarily, especially from combat-oriented civilizations that considered themselves powerful. They had researched it, but none succeeded.
The World Battlefield was not a place one could leave at will, nor was it a place one could enter at will.
Bai Ye said, "Then, what is the correct part?"
The warrior replied, "We do need to search for traces of Kelt, Cat Face, and Scar, and confirm if a new Alien Queen has been born. If an Alien Queen has been born, we need to kill her. If not, we need to destroy the Alien egg sacs to prevent any Queen embryos from hatching."
Bai Ye's brow furrowed in thought, then he said, "Your restricted zone mission is different from ours, isn't it?"
The warrior's heart leaped, because Bai Ye was right.
Although he was sharing information, the warrior had intentionally avoided some key points, or rather, he had intentionally used vague, ambiguous language to share intel with Bai Ye. The reason, of course, was that the other Predators hadn't arrived yet, and the warrior needed to continue stalling.
But to the warrior's surprise, Bai Ye had guessed it so quickly.
Of course, the warrior didn't know that Bai Ye wasn't guessing; it was because in his past life, Bai Ye had experienced something similar. Initially, lacking information, Bai Ye couldn't deduce anything, but after the warrior spoke, Bai Ye had a pretty good grasp of things.
It seemed this restricted zone was divided into factions. As Chosen Ones, the warrior and his fellow Predators naturally fell into the Predator faction, and their restricted zone missions belonged to the Predator missions. This restricted zone was likely designed to select members for the Human faction, hence the reward for the second restricted zone mission was a distress signal beacon.
As for the Alien mission...
Bai Ye wasn't entirely sure about this yet, but the line of thinking was there. Perhaps there were even Chosen Ones from the Alien race?
As soon as Bai Ye thought this, he dismissed it as fanciful. It was possible for Predators to be Chosen Ones, as they were intelligent beings. Aliens, on the other hand, were more akin to beasts. Calling them intelligent beings was a stretch, even though they had their own reproductive systems, it was hard to form a world from them.
Bai Ye considered for a moment, "So, your mission should be to hunt Aliens and humans, and are there any missions related to entering the pyramid ruins, or any rewards?"
The warrior nodded helplessly, "Yes, there are missions to hunt Aliens and humans. As for rewards, we need to find an electronic map. This is a structural diagram of the pyramid obtained by the scientific expedition team scanning the ruins from the outside with their instruments. Based on the life signature scans indicated on it, we can determine where the Alien egg sacs are located."
Bai Ye said, "Then, what are your thoughts on the sudden appearance of beast tamers in the glaciers? Hmm, do you know what beast tamers are?"
"Of course. I've been in the World Battlefield for a long time and have encountered people from many Beast Tamer worlds. In fact, the glaciers weren't the first area I arrived in after entering the World Battlefield," the warrior said. "Those beast tamers were just a coincidence."
Bai Ye asked, "A coincidence?"
The warrior explained, "This is intelligence I've gathered from some beast tamers. The fundamental reason for the massive appearance of beast tamers in the glaciers is a beast tamer named Regias. This beast tamer is very famous and powerful in a certain Beast Tamer world, known as a legendary beast tamer, and is called the Ice God Pillar."
Bai Ye nodded, "I already know this. The problem is, what is the connection between Regias, the Aliens, and you Predators?"
...
