Chapter 91: Chapter 91 The Damn pills.

Everything happened so fast, his head spun and his eyes rolled as if any moment the sockets could fall onto the floor.

Daniel couldn’t believe what he heard—pregnant? Him? Carrying a child in his stomach—how??

Even with the pills he took it still happened. In what universe could this be true? He wasn’t going to believe this scam; the lady was lying.

"You’re not checking it well. I can’t be pregnant." Daniel spoke out loudly. Even Draven, who had been feigning unconsciousness, sat up to get a clearer idea of what was happening, since he didn’t understand why Daniel was suddenly raising his voice.

Xylander’s face didn’t change. He simply watched with that eerie calm—no smile, no frown, just stillness. Alexander’s jaw slackened repeatedly.

He tried to picture Daniel with a baby in his arms, but it just didn’t add up. How? He and Xyle had only met three or four days ago—he couldn’t even remember precisely. Their marriage only happened two days ago, so how could pregnancy be possible?

"Congratulations everyone—especially you, Daniel. You get to nurture your first baby," Ruth announced, not reading too much into the silence that enveloped the room.

"Who are you congratulating? Don’t do that. This lady isn’t even real—she’s fake! I knew it, I just knew it, because how am I supposed to be pregnant if I’m on medication? That’s impossible!" Daniel continued rambling. He raked a hand through his hair. His revenge, his plans to run out of this marriage—they’d all prove difficult now.

Oh gosh, not like this. Those damn pills. Whoever gave him those useless pills should count themselves lucky they weren’t around.

"With all due respect to this house, I won’t speak carelessly. But as a professional, I’ll say it clearly—you are pregnant. It isn’t impossible. Since you’re an Omega, why the shock?" Ruth’s words burned hot against Daniel’s cheeks.

Yes, Xylander didn’t know he was an Omega, but Draven had already told him back in the car. Still, Xyle wasn’t saying anything now. Was he right?

No, Xylander wouldn’t lie to him. Definitely not.

"That’s fine, Daniel. I know you’re an Omega, and I don’t mind. We can sort things out and find out whose baby it is," Xylander finally said, stepping closer with steady eyes.

Daniel rubbed his face. The fuck??

Whose baby it is? Why was he saying it like Daniel was some slut sleeping around and got pregnant? Gosh, his emotions were everywhere.

"Just breathe, man. Your hormones will be acting up—you might crave sex, food, or worse, have heightened anger, anxiety, or sorrow. So your husband has to take care of you." This time Ruth was speaking to Xylander.

Xylander stepped closer, wanting to comfort Daniel, but Daniel kept moving back, retreating until he was far off.

"Why didn’t you tell me you knew? You made me look like a fool," Daniel snapped. His voice carried anger, maybe even pain.

The news was driving him insane. He never received good parental care—how could he ever be a good dad? Especially in a terrible society like theirs, where male Omegas were treated like dirt.

And what if he gave birth to a male Omega? His child’s life would be hell. He didn’t want that for his baby. Still, it was his burden, his chance to change the mindset of those useless people who thought masculinity was tied to being an Alpha. Such a mindset was embarrassing.

"Dan, my lovely hubby, I didn’t mean to. I just didn’t want you to feel pressured, so I thought you’d tell me on your own. Please don’t distance yourself from me," Xylander pleaded, still trying to draw nearer.

"Let’s take care of you in this vulnerable time. Name what you want—vacation, money, flowers. It’s all yours. Please, just... let me hug you." Xylander’s words poured out in desperation.

Draven just gaped, his chest aching as he listened to Xyle drown Daniel in love while he stood on the sidelines. He wasn’t used to this. And the pregnancy—who did it belong to? They had slept together before, without protection.

"My love won’t change because you were declared pregnant. And even if the baby isn’t mine, I won’t hate you. Don’t hate me for this small misunderstanding," Xylander persisted, moving forward until he finally reached Daniel.

Daniel no longer avoided him. He just wanted to sleep—moving around was draining his energy.

"Okay, I’ve heard you. But that doesn’t mean you’re forgiven. Just carry me to my room. I need to sleep," Daniel muttered. Without protest, Xylander lifted him in his arms bridal-style and carried him upstairs.

Draven seemed like he wanted to speak. He stretched his hand out but froze, staring at Xylander and Daniel’s retreating figures.

"You’re the one, right? The father of the baby?" Alex asked bluntly. Draven felt awkward. He stalled, trying to avoid the trap.

"I don’t know. It might be Xylander—who knows?" Draven tried to deflect.

Alexander shook his head firmly.

"Nope. It’s not his. Three days can’t result in a baby—unless it’s some miracle. So, young man, it’s yours, isn’t it?" Alex pressed, eyes narrowing.

Among them all, Alex was the only one who never fully accepted Draven’s presence. To him, Draven was an intruder, someone trying to steal Daniel from right under Xylander’s nose. His friend just didn’t see it.

"I’m serious, Alex, I don’t know. I’m not some secret shaman who can predict things into reality. It might be me—or not," Draven explained. His careful tone made Alex finally twitch his face and turn away.

Draven sighed in relief. A narrow escape. Then his phone rang. He groaned in annoyance.

Charles McCall. What the heck... His friend’s picture flashed on the screen.

The moment he picked up, a harsh scolding came through.

"What the hell, Draven? Why did you run off? Are you hiding from someone? And why haven’t you called to ask how I am doing?" Charles demanded.

"You just disappeared without warning, and now you’re in a stranger’s house? What are you not telling me, Draven? If you don’t explain, I’ll come there tomorrow morning—and nothing will take me back without you." Charles’s voice was edged with steel.

Draven’s eyes widened. Charles showing up here would ruin everything. He wanted to keep up this "sickly" act until Daniel gave him full attention, but that wasn’t happening right now.

"No, Charles, please don’t!" he begged.

"Then fill me in. What’s your mission right now?" Charles pressed stubbornly.

Draven looked around, making sure no one was listening. Luckily Alex was still talking with Ruth.

"So... you might know I met Daniel. And that’s not all—I think I marked him. He might also be carrying my child. I want him to fall completely and hopelessly in love with me," Draven confessed.

Charles was stunned. Daniel? The married one? Pregnant? And with Draven’s child?

Fear filled his heart instantly.

"What about the husband? Won’t he realize his spouse is pregnant with another man’s child? This is absurd! Do you want to die so badly?" Charles snapped.

"This guy isn’t worth it. Don’t throw your life away. Just come back, or I’ll involve your parents," Charles threatened harshly.

Draven only smiled.

"Daniel is worth more than you know—things I can’t even describe. So do as you wish. Drag my parents from Paris if you want; they won’t care. They never do. And as for the calls—stop disturbing me. I’ve already told you what I’m doing." Draven ended the call.

By then Ruth had left. Alone, he started for the staircase—but froze. A figure was watching him.

It was a woman. Her expression was pure rage, laced with dark intent.

The hell...

Why was she staring at him like that? Heart racing, Draven quickly ascended the stairs. That look was too creepy—unnatural, even.
