Chapter 147: Chapter 134: Alien Race Traces (Part 2)
They first tear open the prey’s abdomen, devouring the fat and nutrient-rich entrails, before the other stronger Desert Wolves in the pack get their turn.
So Alya’s plan is entirely feasible.
Hunt a wild ox and inject it with the potion, it’s totally possible to lure that pack of wild wolves.
"But with our two teams, there are only two medical kits, not enough to gather the dosage needed for paralyzing them."
Rein frowned slightly, "Your mother said that the active ingredient in the pain-relief potion is Mandala, but the amount is very small and might not be effective."
"It’s okay, I’ll go back and ask the lord for support,"
Alya said, "It’s just as well that we should report these situations to the lord."
"Alright, then I’ll leave this to you."
Rein nodded in agreement.
The next day, Alya set off back to Frost Leaf Town.
She was good at hiding, skillfully weaving through the mountains and forests without alarming the wild deer and grouse in the mountains.
Similarly, another team traveling in the mountains also failed to notice Alya.
"Hmm?"
Alya looked at the team quietly advancing in the forest, her eyes filled with shock and confusion.
She had never seen a race like this.
Their heads were covered in white hair, with a pair of long white ears atop their heads.
Their upper bodies appeared humanoid with four limbs, but their lower bodies were covered with white paws.
Alya didn’t act rashly, hiding behind a rock, silently keeping an eye on this five-member team, watching their actions closely.
Not until their figures disappeared into the forest did Alya come out.
Alya did not pursue them.
She frowned, staring in the direction those strange people disappeared to.
Could they be the legendary Alien Race?
Alya pondered quietly in her heart.
She promptly turned around and swiftly hurried back to Frost Leaf Town.
Upon meeting Luo De, she first reported what she had seen in the forest.
Luo De immediately called Avril over and asked Alya to describe it again.
"Is Alya describing the Alien Race that ambushed Razor Plain?"
Luo De asked.
Avril slightly shook her head, "The Alien Race that attacked me was the War Lizard Tribe, also known as the Ice Lizardmen, said to be very brutal."
"Alright, I understand now."
Luo De let out a sigh of relief, assuming that the Alien Race had already wiped out Baron Blom and attacked.
According to Alya’s description, this Alien Race team seemed more like they came out from the Black Stone Mountain Range.
Though they weren’t those invaders, one mustn’t take the Alien Race lightly.
Luo De immediately ordered Durant to gather the soldiers and lead the remaining Hunting Team, with Alya guiding them to the place where the Alien Race appeared for a search.
At the same time, he reminded the Black Stone Mountain Range’s mining site to enhance their vigilance.
Of course, Luo De also heard Alya’s report on the wolf pack and agreed to the Hunting Team’s request.
He even crafted a special tranquilizer for them, specifically to set traps.
This potion, with its single effect, had a simple formula; Luo De directly used Mandala combined with Valerian to create the Snow Sleep Potion.
The process was very quick; after all, Luo De only needed to ensure that the Desert Wolves didn’t die from an overdose, with no other concerns required.
Once Luo De finished making the Snow Sleep Potion, Alya came back to retrieve the potion and reported the situation in passing.
Unfortunately, a search by a hundred and thirty soldiers of the nearby hills turned up nothing regarding that Alien Race team.
Durant found traces of the team’s outdoor living, but it was already on the outskirts of the Black Stone Mountain Range.
Luo De rejected Durant’s proposal to enter the Black Stone Mountain Range, instructing the Hunting Team to enhance patrols around and dispatched twenty more soldiers to the mine.
Without knowing what kind of Alien Race they were, or their combat capabilities in the mountains, Luo De couldn’t risk the soldiers.
Alya conveyed the orders to Durant, and then she returned to Rein’s camp.
With the potent Snow Sleep Potion in hand, the Hunting Team immediately began their operation.
As planned, Rein led the team to hunt a fresh wild deer, injecting it with the entire potion.
Without any surprises, the Hunting Team almost effortlessly ensnared the pack of ten wolves residing in the Desert Wolf territory.
As for what followed, it was completely handled by the Wolf Hoof Leader.
Rein watched curiously as the Wolf Hoof Leader approached the strong alpha wolf of the pack, uttering a string of incomprehensible words.
"Is that Wildman language?"
Rein turned to ask Wizard Usto.
Usto shook his head, his brows tightly knitted,
"I can’t understand it at all, and I feel that each time he speaks, it’s different. I don’t even believe it’s a language."
While the two were perplexed, they saw two other Wildmen from the Wolfhoof Tribe capture two Desert Wolves.
They brought the two Desert Wolves before the alpha wolf, pressing sharp blades against their throats.
Then, the Wolf Hoof Leader cut off a large piece of tender meat, placing it right in front of the alpha wolf.
Usto’s eyes lit up,
"I understand this! He’s threatening the alpha wolf, making it choose between food or the death of its companions."
Rein chuckled and nodded.
Anyone with a bit of brain could see that.
The alpha wolf stood up, letting out an angry growl from deep within its throat, its ferocious eyes filled with unyielding spirit.
What surprised everyone was that the Wolf Hoof Leader jumped into the cage, beckoning the alpha wolf as if inviting it to a showdown.
Of course, the alpha wolf did not refuse, growling lowly as it pounced towards the Wolf Hoof Leader.
What followed was an intense battle between man and beast.
