Chapter 449 - 447: Mrs. Mo’s Attack

Chapter 449: Chapter 447: Mrs. Mo’s Attack

This pulse is really weak and chaotic. If I’m not mistaken, it should be late stage of a serious illness. After calling Mrs. Mo a few times, Chen Tianlong finally brought her back to consciousness.

"Cough cough cough...."

Although Mrs. Mo was awake, she kept coughing. Chen Tianlong quickly pulled out a silver needle and pricked a few spots on her chest, which immediately eased her discomfort.

"Mom, are you okay? Xiaojing was scared to death." Mo Jing threw herself into her mother’s arms, tears flowing freely.

"I’m fine." Mrs. Mo forced a smile and stroked Mo Jing’s little head, deeply worried about her daughter.

"Mom, I have a brother now, just made one." Mo Jing said excitedly.

"Huh? This... what’s going on?" Mrs. Mo was startled, looking up at Chen Tianlong.

Chen Tianlong smiled bitterly, "I thought Xiaojing was joking, so I casually agreed."

"Young man, please acknowledge my daughter. She... she’s pitiful and hasn’t had a good day since she was born. I hope you can treat her like your own sister. Xiaojing is very sensible." At first, Chen Tianlong thought Mrs. Mo might be angry but was surprised when she eagerly handed her daughter over to him.

Chen Tianlong felt overwhelmed, realizing he might have taken on a big responsibility by accepting a sister, feeling quite troubled.

Seeing Chen Tianlong silent, Lin Wushuang hurriedly nudged him. Startled by the push, he responded, "Aha, um... no problem. If there’s any trouble in the future, feel free to find me. I’m at the Li Family Mansion. Do you have a phone? Let me save my number for you."

"Yes, yes," Mrs. Mo, quite delighted, handed over her phone, thrilled that Mo Jing had found someone to rely on. She knew Lin Wushuang; she was a good girl, and the young man seemed to be her boyfriend. Mo Jing having such a brother seemed reassuring, so she handed over her phone: "Here."

Chen Tianlong took Mrs. Mo’s phone, saved his number in it, and said with a smile, "My name is Chen Tianlong. From now on, Xiaojing is my sister. If there’s anything you need, feel free to call me."

"Thank you!"

Mrs. Mo felt relieved. If Chen Tianlong genuinely cared for her daughter, she wouldn’t have to worry about her daughter being lonely even if she were to pass away.

Before leaving, Chen Tianlong wrote a prescription for Mrs. Mo, asking her to get the ingredients and take the medicine as directed. Actually, Chen Tianlong wanted to help Mrs. Mo free herself from pain.

However, Mrs. Mo’s condition, involving asthma related to the respiratory system, was indeed tricky.

"Brother, when can we meet again." Mo Jing sounded a bit reluctant.

"Haha, I’m at the Lin Family Mansion. Whenever Xiaojing is free, you can come."

Chen Tianlong was indifferent; after all, Mo Jing was in primary school and would only be free on weekends, coincidentally when Lu Xiaoyu would return, so they could hang out together.

"Mm-hmm." Mo Jing smiled sweetly, clearly very happy: "Big Brother, Sister-in-law, we’re going home. Mom isn’t feeling well tonight."

"Ah?"

Upon hearing her being called Sister-in-law, Lin Wushuang was momentarily stunned and then blushed: "Um...."

"Cough cough, alright, little sister, we’ll be leaving now."

Chen Tianlong quickly coughed, interrupting Lin Wushuang. How could this girl be so easily exposed? Wasn’t she supposed to work overtime these months? Plus, once he brought Zhang Jingyun over, she’d justifiably be Sister-in-law. It was only a matter of time.

"Oh, goodbye, Xiaojing." Bidding farewell to Mo Jing, the two returned to the Li Family Mansion. It was already past eleven at night; they exchanged smiles and returned to their rooms to shower.

A quiet night.

Early the next morning, just as Chen Tianlong was about to get up, his phone rang. Initially, he thought it was Lin Wushuang urging him to get up, but it turned out to be an unfamiliar number, and a landline at that.

Chen Tianlong frowned. He didn’t plan to answer but felt a sudden urge to do so. So he picked up the call.

"Hello, who are you looking for?"

Not knowing who it was, Chen Tianlong cautiously asked.

"Is this Brother Chen Tianlong? I’m Mo Jing! We met at the barbecue stand." A cute voice came from the other end, though it quickly sounded off.

"Little sister Xiaojing, is that you?" Initially, Chen Tianlong was a bit dazed, not knowing who it was. He thought it might be a mischievous kid calling the wrong number. But when he heard the words "barbecue stand," with his excellent memory, last night’s scene instantly came to mind.

"Boo-hoo... Brother, my mom she... she suddenly fell ill. She’s in the hospital now, and the doctor says she can’t survive the day, boo-hoo..."

Mo Jing cried uncontrollably, making Chen Tianlong’s heart ache.

Last time Chen Tianlong had already checked her mother’s pulse and knew she didn’t have much time left, which is why he agreed to make Mo Jing his sister. Now, it proved to be correct.

Although Chen Tianlong was undoubtedly a Divine Doctor, he wasn’t unwilling to help. Some illnesses were beyond his ability—late-stage cancer was something even he couldn’t save.

"Xiaojing, which hospital are you in? I’ll come right over." Chen Tianlong asked directly without saying much.

"South Sea City First People’s Hospital."

Mo Jing remained calm as her mother had told her not to despair no matter what happened and to follow Chen Tianlong in the future.

Mo Jing was an understanding child. To prevent her mother from dying with regret, she promised her mother, holding back her pain.

"Okay, Xiaojing, I’ll be right there."

Without delay, Chen Tianlong ended the call, got dressed, grabbed two buns from the kitchen, and rushed to the First People’s Hospital.

As for work, Chen Tianlong just called Lin Wushuang, explaining it was about Mo Jing, and she readily agreed.

Currently, Chen Tianlong wasn’t just her assistant; he had another role as vice president. Technically, he didn’t need Lin Wushuang’s approval for leave, but he still respected her by keeping his position as her assistant.

When he arrived at the First People’s Hospital, outside the operating room, he saw a little girl about ten years old sitting with her head down on a chair.

Chen Tianlong immediately recognized Mo Jing and hurried over, saying, "Xiaojing!"

Upon hearing him, Mo Jing looked up. Her tear-stained eyes melted anyone’s heart; her sweet face, angelic looks, made Chen Tianlong hug her tightly.

"Brother, you finally came. Mom she... she..."

Just as Mo Jing was speaking, the door of the operating room opened, and out came a group of doctors, each looking gloomy and shaking their heads.
