Nan Mengyu thought it was Gu Dongxing and got up to open the door, only to find Wen Meiling standing outside.
Nan Mengyu had already been informed by Gu Dongxing that Wen Meiling, who came looking for him that day, was the one answering the phone at the regiment headquarters and had lied about Cheng Jiuhe being out on a mission with Gu Dongxing.
If she had met Cheng Jiuhe then, she wouldn’t have had to spend time going to the county Women’s Federation, and then having the Women’s Federation take her to Vice County Magistrate Wen to convince him to call the Public Security Bureaus along the route the target vehicle might pass.
Instead, she would have pursued in three groups immediately, and Huilan could have avoided being violated by Ah Sheng.
Therefore, Nan Mengyu utterly detested Wen Meiling.
Now seeing her daring to show up at her door, she immediately scowled and clenched her fists tightly, controlling herself from beating Wen Meiling to death.

Yet, she stepped aside, “You were wrong, where did you go wrong?”
Some of the families noticed the commotion and began looking over.
Wen Meiling: “I shouldn’t have, I shouldn’t have carelessly answered the call at the regiment’s headquarters, I shouldn’t have lied on the phone saying the Vice Commander Cheng was not at the headquarters.”
Nan Mengyu “Oh”ed and stopped speaking, nor did she ask her to rise. She just looked at that usually arrogant face, now begging in a low voice, feeling somewhat strange.
This isn’t Wen Meiling, Wen Meiling couldn’t do such a thing.
Wen Meiling also extremely reluctant, but her husband’s words echoed in her ears: “Go, apologize to Jiang Mengyu, kneel and apologize. If she doesn’t forgive you, keep kneeling until she agrees.”

Wen Meiling yelled angrily: “Please forgive me, everything was my fault, please don’t discipline Vice Factory Manager Yan.”
Nan Mengyu “Ah”ed, her face showing confusion: “Oh, you are asking for forgiveness, I forgive you. But, Vice Factory Manager Yan isn’t under my control, what power do I have to discipline him?”
