Seeing Wang Huilan entering the house, Mengyu immediately noticed a middle-aged woman charging at her with a broomstick, swinging to hit her. Mengyu reached out and grabbed the woman’s hand.
Her piercing gaze swept over the woman, "Why are you hitting people?"
The woman trembled under Mengyu’s intimidating stare, her body freezing in place: Such a terrifying gaze!
But she quickly regained her senses, struggling and shouting, "Who are you to meddle in my family’s affairs? Wang Jinbu, get over here and beat this girl to death for causing Ah Mei’s death!"
Wang Huilan’s father, Wang Jinbu, came out of the inner room with a wooden stick in hand and swung it fiercely towards Wang Huilan, "I’ll kill you for causing your sister’s death, you unfilial daughter!"
Upon hearing the whooshing sound of Wang Jinbu’s stick, Mengyu knew he was using full force. If he indeed struck Wang Huilan, it could genuinely kill her.
He really intended to kill his daughter; this was by no means a father’s way of disciplining his child!
Mengyu flung away the woman’s hand she was holding and pulled Huilan aside. The wooden stick in Wang Jinbu’s hand missed Huilan, instead striking the ground where she had been standing.
A "crack" sounded as the sturdy stick shockingly broke in two.
Seeing the stick broken, Wang Jinbu simply tossed it aside and aimed his fists towards Wang Huilan with a punch that came with a significant force, as one could tell from the wind it carried.
Wang Huilan could feel the killing aura from her father. After listening to that woman, he was truly intent on killing her!
She was overwhelmed by sorrow. Where had her father, who had once treasured her like a precious pearl, gone? Why, upon her return, did her father want her dead just because a woman had said, "Beat this girl to death for causing Ah Mei’s death"?
She even forgot to dodge, just standing there with a face full of sadness and despair.
Mengyu swiftly chopped at the nape of Wang Jinbu’s neck, knocking him unconscious.
The woman who had initially stood there watching the father and daughter fighting, upon seeing Wang Jinbu knocked out by Mengyu, immediately ran out shouting, "Everyone come quick! The daughter has brought a stranger to kill her father?"
It happened to be breakfast time, and when Wang Huilan returned home with Jiang Mengyu, quite a few villagers had seen them. Now, hearing that woman’s cries, many people gathered around.
Hearing the woman claim that Wang Huilan had brought a stranger to kill her father and seeing Wang Jinbu lying on a bench, everyone was instantly perplexed.
"What happened here?"
"Huilan brought someone to kill her father? That can’t be true, right?"
"Why can’t it be? Wasn’t it because she had a falling out with her father that she left home to work in another place?"
