DMadLord

Chapter 560: Familiar Event.

It would be one thing if she didn't know that Arthur was in danger. She couldn't be blamed for that.

But if she knew that Arthur was in danger, she had to help him. This is her job as a caretaker and there would be no excuse if she did something else instead of helping him.

So far from being able to kill him, she also can't let him die while she is aware of it. This feeling of being constrained gnawed on her mind and made her speed up to get away from Arthur as fast as possible.

Thunder Drake watched her go and shook his head in amusement. Then he returned his attention to watching Arthur.

He too was amazed by what Arthur had done. But he had been desensitized to something like that after watching Sword Flash do it many times.

Sword Flash had also advanced to the fifth mortal coil with his own enlightenment and technique. So he is seeing Arthur do something he had seen before.

Of course, seeing it twice doesn't diminish its impressive nature. Any time something like this happens, it is a matter that has to be taken seriously.

When Sword Flash had done it, he had done so after taking a lot of preparations. Even then, Sword Flash was prepared to die during the attempt.

So it is a life-and-death matter. There is nothing that can be more serious than that.

What's more, as bad and dangerous as it is, most people can't even initiate it. Despite being so dangerous, only the best of the best can attempt it, so it is worthy of admiration.

And Thunder Drake does feel immense admiration of Sword Flash. To him, Sword Flash is both his hero and senior brother.

As he thought of this, he sighed to himself and said inwardly, "I wonder how he is doing now. I hope he is fine."

He is worried about Sword Flash's evaluation by the Ethera tree. He is worried just as much as the time Sword Flash tried to break through to the fifth mortal coil on his own. Like both times, Sword Flash had done a lot of preparations and was even ready to die.

Arthur's current situation reminded him that Sword Flash might not be so lucky the second time around and might not return. This made him very worried.

As he was thinking, Arthur stirred from where he lay on the ground. His eyes opened, and he groaned.

He groaned because the light of the sun was too bright and because his brain was pounding in his skull as if something was in his head hitting his brain with a stick. Or a hammer.

When he realized that he was lying on the ground, he pushed himself up with his divine sense. He checked his surroundings with his divine sense and saw that he was on an unfamiliar piece of land floating in the air.

This strange situation surprised him. He can't remember being in a place like this ever before.

So he asked with a voice that made him sound drunk, "Where am I? What was I doing?"

He wasn't really asking anyone that question. The question was more to himself since there was no one around him.

A voice came from his side, saying, "Give your mind some time to recover?"

This voice came from nowhere. It scared Arthur and caused him to jump away in fright.

When he looked over, he saw that the source of the voice was a humanoid being made of lightning. He hadn't noticed this person at all despite doing a complete sweep of his environment with his divine sense.

Patriarch Thunder Drake explained, "Don't be afraid. I have only cloaked myself with a spiritual shield. So you can't see me with your divine sense. You will need to use your eyes to see me."

Arthur understood what the patriarch said, but he only became more confused because he couldn't figure out for the life of him why the patriarch would be around him.

He is not even sure that the patriarch exists right now. This whole thing seems like an illusion or a hallucination to him. After all, since he can't see it with his divine sense, it probably doesn't exist, and it is only his eyes that are playing tricks on him.

The possibility that he is hallucinating is very high, but he couldn't think more about it because his mind ached whenever he tried to put more than two thoughts together.

Intensive thinking only made the pounding in his skull become severe. So he groaned and muttered to himself, "Did I get drunk?"

The patriarch replied, "No, you didn't. What you did was to try to chase the truth. Your mind came upon a higher truth, and you tried to pursue that truth to its end and use it to liberate your soul from your body."

Arthur looked over dumbfounded. He thought about what the patriarch said for a while. It took a long while, but it eventually led to a dead end because he couldn't think too much about anything.

The good news is that his mind is now using all of his available mental power to recover his memories. So he now remembered what happened up till the point that he was trying to convince Roar to let go of his fears. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ novel{f}

What he remembered made him shake his head and say, "That can't be it. I was only trying to tell my dog to broaden his horizons and think higher. I don't think…"

He couldn't continue to speak because the more he spoke, the more he remembered that holographic glyph in his mind that he was trying to solidify with all the knowledge that he knew.

This made him realize that what the patriarch said might be true. Even so, he had never heard of such a thing before.

He understood every individual word of what the patriarch had said, but he couldn't understand everything when put together.
