Chapter 606: Chapter 606: Personal Injury Accident
A few days later.
Huo Tingdong and Lin Qi brought the four little ones to their new home.
The villa’s design style is modern and luxurious, with large floor-to-ceiling glass windows and exquisite interior decoration. There is also a sunlit greenhouse and garden at the back of the villa, and a pool planned in a farther place.
“Wow, it’s so big and bright here,” Han’s eyes lit up as soon as he entered the door.
Momo, standing next to him, didn’t speak. He was assessing the new home, feeling satisfied, but couldn’t help but think of the previous home.
However, compared to this one, the previous home was really too small.
The living room of this house is three times bigger than the previous one!
“Yes,” Lin Qi smiled and ruffled Han’s hair, “There’s even a special room for you to store your toys, and Momo has his own big study room.”
Upon hearing that Momo has a big study room, Han’s radar suddenly activated in his mind.
He tugged at Lin Qi’s clothes, “I want to go see Momo’s study room.”
Lin Qi was surprised, “Don’t you want to check out the toy room first?”
She thought Han would be interested in the toy room.
Han shook his head, “I want to see the big study room first.”
Lin Qi looked at the other three children, “Do you all want to see the big study room too?”
Zhouzhou nodded, and Yinyin said obediently, “I want to go with Zhouzhou and see it too.”
It was only Momo, the person in question, who didn’t speak.
“What’s wrong? Don’t you like the new home?” Lin Qi noticed Momo’s absent-mindedness and was a bit worried.
After all, they’re changing living environments. Of course, she hoped the children could quickly adapt and like it. If not, she would explain the reasons for moving and the benefits of the new home to them.
That’s beneficial for the children’s growth.
Momo was silent for a while before saying, “It’s not that I don’t like it; I want to check it out too.”
Lin Qi finally relaxed, “Great, let’s go see Momo’s big study room then!”
Han was the first to run forward, filled with curiosity about the new home. He even loved the carvings on the stairs, touching them over and over, clearly showing his fondness for the new house.
Yinyin, being a girl, was naturally attracted to shiny things, and because it was convenient for viewing, Lin Qi had turned on all the lights. She liked it here too. Seeing Yinyin like it, Zhouzhou liked it too, staying close to Lin Qi on either side.
Only Momo alternated between checking out the new home and occasionally lowering his head in thought.
Huo Tingdong walked behind him.
Father and son walked side by side, and he asked, “What are you thinking about?”
“I’m thinking about the difference between this home and the previous one.”
“What’s the difference?”
Momo was silent for a long time, then seriously said—
“Here, it’s bigger.”
Huo Tingdong:…
Momo furrowed his brow, originally trying to say something, when suddenly they heard Han’s exclamation. He raised his head and looked towards the sound.
In the center of the fifty square meters large room, there was a coffee table and a soft sofa. Besides the side facing the sofa being a massive floor-to-ceiling glass window, the other three sides were lined with bookshelves, each six meters tall, connected by a large platform.
The platform had glass stairs on both sides, and there was even a small built-in mechanical arm. Books could be easily taken or retrieved by pressing a button on the panel beside the bookshelf.
Now.
These bookshelves were still empty.
They were waiting for their owner to fill them with books.
Momo’s eyes suddenly sparkled.
This was a study room that no one could refuse.
Suddenly, Han ran over, “Momo, I also want to put my books here in the future!”
“No, you can’t.”
“Why?” Han pouted.
“Because this is my study room.”
“No way, I want to put them here.”
Momo raised his brow, deliberately teasing him, “Beg me.”
Han ‘humphed’, turned, and hugged one of the bookshelves. Though the bookshelf was tall and he was small, he couldn’t hold it, but he stubbornly held onto it, as if determined to live and die with the shelf.
He shouted, “This is mine now.”
Momo, “I already said no.”
“I want it!”
Seeing the children play and joke around, clearly pleased with the new home, Lin Qi’s eyes were covered with a layer of smile.
Just then, Huo Tingdong’s phone rang, and he left the study room to take a call before quickly returning.
Lin Qi asked, “Got a social engagement?”
“No, just a commercial change.”
“Is everything alright?”
“Li Yufei negotiated a project, it’s nothing.”
Turns out it was Li Yufei.
Lin Qi nodded, “She’s always been impressive.”
Huo Tingdong murmured an indifferent ‘mm’, leaning down to embrace her.
He, now, only wished to accompany his wife and children, not very concerned about commercial matters.
…
Night fell, with a drizzling rain.
Li Yufei left the dinner meeting, and tiredly sat in the car.
With two consecutive days of high-load running around, she was a bit exhausted.
Outside, car shadows kept sweeping by.
She drove and gazed at the traffic lights, feeling somewhat lost.
Du Shaoheng’s illness kept haunting her mind, even during meetings she couldn’t help but space out. Now, in the silence, no matter how strong her self-control, her thoughts were overflowing.
The green light appeared, she stepped on the gas, but forgot to signal, and in a daze, she sensed a figure crossing in front. She quickly braked, but it was too late, the car’s license plate grazed the person’s coat, and they fell heavily in front of her car.
Accompanied by a piercing brake sound, she slightly leaned forward, realizing she’d scraped a pedestrian. She sighed, unbuckled her seatbelt, and opened an umbrella as she got out of the car.
The young man lying in front of the car slowly raised his head, his wispy dark hair partially covering his eyes, not hindering him from seeing clearly.
He glanced at her expensive clothes and watch, a hint of pain flashed in his eyes.
Li Yufei walked to his side, examined him briefly, and noticed him clutching his arm tightly, clearly injured.
She stepped aside, calmly intending to dial a phone.
The young man’s cold voice came, “Why don’t you apologize.”
Li Yufei couldn’t help but be surprised.
She turned back, glancing again.
The young man clasped his broken arm, arduously stood up, and licked his dry lips, “Hit someone and doesn’t know basic courtesy?”
Li Yufei was slightly taken aback, after a while, she said, “I’m sorry.”
The young man looked at her indifferent posture, snorted coldly, “That’s the attitude?”
Li Yufei said, “Don’t move around, I’ll call an ambulance.”
Before she could dial the number, a cold and damp hand suddenly grasped her wrist.
Li Yufei frowned and instinctively tried to shake it off, but wasn’t successful.
Under the streetlight, she saw the young man’s appearance clearly.
His features were extremely handsome, with a heroic pair of swordlike brows, a thin scar from the corner of the forehead to the end of the brow, making him look more defiant and unruly, and the ice-blue diamond on his left ear gleamed coldly, just like the temperature of his skin.
“You send me to the hospital.”
