Chapter 600: Chapter 600: A Child’s Innocent Affection
Han’s little face suddenly flushed: “You…”
Xixi said, “Doctor Huo, do you have a house?”
Han shook his head.
Xixi said, “Then do you have a car?”
Han shook his head again.
According to the playing house script, he’s a 25-year-old man, without a house or a car, running a clinic, and still single!
Xixi crossed her arms: “I see! No wonder you haven’t been able to get a wife until now!”
Han also sighed: “Yeah! Nowadays, a man without a house or a car can’t easily get a wife!”
Xixi suddenly gave a cheeky smile: “Do you want to get married?”
Han nodded: “I do.”
Xixi: “Then you’ve met the right person today! Would you like to be with me?”
Han: “But I don’t have a house or a car.”
Xixi: “But you’re cute. I especially like cute boys.”
Han froze again, unable to discern whether Xixi was speaking from the script or seriously.
Han asked, “Are you willing to marry me?”
Xixi nodded: “I am. But if I marry you and live with you, you can’t let me suffer, alright? No house is okay, no car is okay, but you must cherish and take care of me for a lifetime!”
Han suddenly smiled: “Alright. You be my wife, and I’ll take care of you for a lifetime.”
Over to the side, Junjun and Momo unexpectedly ate a mouthful of dog food.
Momo suddenly pulled Junjun to one side and asked suspiciously, “Is Xixi serious about what she said? Or is it the script you gave her?”
Junjun: “That wasn’t in the script I taught her.”
Momo: “Could it be that Xixi really likes Han?”
Junjun: “I don’t know.”
Momo looked at him skeptically: “You’re her brother, you don’t know who your sister likes?”
Junjun looked at Momo: “I’m her brother, not a worm in her gut.”
After a pause, he recalled: “However, Xixi has indeed told me more than once that Han is very cute, she seems to really like Han quite a bit.”
At school, Xixi particularly loves to tease Han.
Han is a little rascal in the class.
Let’s not forget, Han used to be a silent jar, not fond of talking or interacting, like a mute during classes, shutting himself in his own world, whether it’s the teacher or classmates.
Han now is totally different from his former self.
Classmates all like him because he’s just too cute.
Xixi feels the same.
Momo touched his chin: “Junjun, be careful, your sister is being wooed away.”
Junjun glanced at him sideways, saying nothing.
Even though he’s roughly the same age, at the same phase as them.
But Junjun’s mindset is even more mature than Momo’s.
Momo is smart, exceptionally talented, while Junjun is worldly-wise, having experienced many people and things which makes him mature earlier than Momo.
To him, Xixi genuinely likes Han, but her fondness for Han is just the simple liking between kids.
…
At night.
Li Yufei parked the car at the private club.
She opened the car door and made a phone call casually.
“Hello?”
On the other end, the housekeeper smiled and said, “Miss, what can I do for you?”
Li Yufei asked, “Has Junjun come home yet?”
The housekeeper said, “The young master just called to say he’s having dinner at the Huo Family’s. I’ve just sent the driver to pick him up.”
Li Yufei: “Send me a text when he gets home.”
The housekeeper said, “Alright.”
She put away her phone and entered the club.
Today, there’s a three-party acquisition negotiation.
Since it’s involving the interests of three parties, Li Yufei knows that tonight will be a tough negotiation, and she will definitely get home late.
President’s suite.
Li Yufei formally enters the fray.
At the wine table, it’s nothing more than those hypocritical exchanges, a few executives sitting together, first toasting each other, talking extensively, and not until several drinks later do they officially get to the topic.
Amidst the toasts, the business is discussed, the deal settled.
A few executives still from time to time bring up Li Yufei’s divorce as a joke on the table, though it’s always polite banter, Li Yufei has already gotten used to such scenes of fame and fortune, but somehow, what were once harmless jokes, today, felt unexplainably frustrating, she couldn’t help but retort a few words.
For a while, the atmosphere was subtly awkward.
Li Yufei picked up her wine glass, lightly tapped the base on the table: “Not in a good mood today, if I’ve offended anyone in my words, I hope you can bear with it. For this drink, I’ll punish myself.”
After saying it, she downed the wine in one go.
Unnoticed, halfway through the wine.
Outside the window, night had already fallen.
Li Yufei drank up the wine in her glass and stood up.
Seeing this, everyone exchanged glances, knowing she was leaving, they followed suit and stood up together.
Tonight, she was the main character at the wine table.
Her intention to leave signified the end of the banquet.
As the Li Family’s CEO, Li Yufei has always been decisive and resolute; in midst of poor financial conditions, the fate of these companies entirely hinge upon her words.
Although tonight’s negotiation wasn’t very smooth, at least, Li Yufei gave a couple of concessions, which didn’t make them look too bad.
Li Yufei had just stood up when someone approached, took her coat, and politely intended to help her put it on.
Li Yufei glanced sideways, taking the coat herself: “For such trivial matters, don’t bother, President Shen.”
She walked to the door, and several executives immediately scrambled to open the door for her.
She gracefully strode out, with a group of suit-clad men trailing behind her like stars cluster around the moon.
The elevator doors opened.
Li Yufei was about to enter the elevator when she unexpectedly bumped into Du Ruo.
“Yufei?”
Du Ruo was a bit surprised to see her.
Li Yufei’s gaze also shifted slightly: “Ruo.”
Even after breaking up with Du Shaoheng years ago, she has remained polite to Du Ruo.
Du Ruo smiled, “What a coincidence, you’re doing business here tonight?”
Li Yufei said, “Yes.”
Du Ruo glanced at those behind her: “Is it all done now?”
Li Yufei turned around, eyed the executives lightly and said, “I have some matters, you handle the rest yourselves!”
“Alright, President Li.”
The crowd dispersed.
Li Yufei smiled slightly at Du Ruo: “Ruo, it’s been a while, didn’t expect to run into you here.”
Du Ruo asked, “Are you free? Can I invite you for a cup of coffee?”
Li Yufei raised her wrist, glancing at the time: “There’s time for a cup of coffee.”
Du Ruo nodded, and Li Yufei walked into the elevator.
This club combines business, entertainment, leisure and is a high-end venue.
Downstairs is the coffee shop.
Du Ruo and Li Yufei entered the cafe, sitting in a booth.
They ordered two cups of coffee, a bit of dessert, followed by a brief silence.
