Chapter 654: Chapter 654: Holding a Grudge
Han Ye was dumbfounded with his mouth wide open, but couldn’t say a word.
Li Yufei took out her phone and made a call to the HR department.
The call was just connected.
Li Yufei looked at Han Ye: “Employee ID?”
Han Ye reported his employee ID.
Li Yufei spoke into the phone: “Employee ID AD9802, Han Ye, temporarily reassigned to the Security Department for three days.”
After finishing, she hung up the phone and said to Han Ye: “Report to the Security Department tomorrow. Three days. If you don’t perform well, you’ll stay there until your performance is satisfactory.”
Han Ye: “No way…”
Li Yufei shot him a cold glare.
Han Ye didn’t dare to speak again.
Li Yufei turned around, glanced ambiguously at Rong Ling, and then walked away.
Once Li Yufei left, the atmosphere turned awkwardly silent.
Rong Ling lifted his head, glanced at Han Ye, smirked slightly, but said nothing. He fixed the pager on his shoulder and walked out of the booth.
Han Ye stared intently at Rong Ling’s back, silently clenching his fists.
…
The next day.
Despite his reluctance.
Han Ye mustered up the courage to report to the Security Department.
It was said that the HR department issued an evaluation document to the Security Room, which was directly handed to Rong Ling.
The document listed various work tasks, each with a score.
Rong Ling needed to score Han Ye based on his performance. If the score was unsatisfactory, Han Ye would have to remain in the security position until his performance improved.
In the end, Han Ye was late on his first day.
Rong Ling had just clocked in when Han Ye finally showed up.
How could he possibly be on time?
Clocking in required changing into a uniform and face recognition, and there were colleagues from various departments at the clock-in point. Han Ye was socially adept at the company, knowing many colleagues. If they saw him clocking in wearing a security uniform, his embarrassment would reach Siberia!
So he deliberately arrived over ten minutes late, waiting until the clock-in point was less crowded before reluctantly heading to the locker room to change into the uniform.
Han Ye clocked in and had just arrived at the booth when Rong Ling checked the time. He was half an hour late, resulting in an immediate deduction of 5 points from the attendance section.
“Vice President Han? You actually came to report to the Security Room?”
A security guard saw Han Ye, looking somewhat dumbfounded: “Did you offend President Li somewhere? She’s clearly messing with you!”
Han Ye was fuming, muttering grumpily: “Who knows?! Maybe all divorced women are like this!”
But he wouldn’t speak so freely in front of others.
That security guard whispered to him: “Be careful! The HR department issued an evaluation document, and now Rong Ling is in charge of supervising you. If your score is poor for a day, you’ll have to stay in the Security Department for an extra day.”
Han Ye said: “Why does he get to supervise me?”
“Who knows?”
Rong Ling was organizing packages in the reception room when Han Ye suddenly pushed the door open and came in: “Rong Ling!”
Rong Ling turned around and looked at him: “Good morning.”
Han Ye said: “Did the HR department give you a document?”
Saying this, he extended his hand towards him: “Give me the document.”
His tone was still quite polite.
Rong Ling said calmly: “This is a requirement from the HR department, and it’s part of my job duties. So, you want to take the document and fill in the scores yourself?”
Han Ye walked over: “I’m really unlucky! Rarely late, and President Li caught me red-handed! For reasons unknown, she temporarily reassigned me to this department, calling it training, but it’s really just to make things difficult for me! I don’t want to stay here as security. If you don’t want to give me the document, it’s fine, but make sure you score me high enough to get back to the Administration Department in three days.”
Rong Ling said: “Then you should perform well.”
Han Ye was taken aback, squinting his eyes: “You won’t purposely make things difficult for me, will you?”
Rong Ling said: “Of course not. If you perform well, I won’t deduct points. However, if you’re late again tomorrow, I’ll still deduct points.”
Han Ye couldn’t help but gasp: “You mean… you already deducted points from me this morning?”
Rong Ling took out the document, glanced at it: “Yeah, 5 points deducted.”
Han Ye: “You…”
Rong Ling said: “Do your job well.”
He patted Han Ye’s shoulder and left the reception room.
Han Ye was seething, feeling like choking yet having no outlet for his anger.
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. He chased out of the reception room but unexpectedly ran into a colleague from the Administration Department retrieving a package.
“Vice President!?”
This woman was Han Ye’s subordinate, also one of the secretaries.
Seeing Han Ye there, dressed in a security uniform, she was utterly dumbfounded.
What was this?
As a Vice President, how could he be wearing a security uniform?
Han Ye’s face turned crimson immediately: “Bai Jie, you…”
Bai Jie quickly explained: “I… I’m just here to pick up a package. Vice President, why are you dressed like this…”
Han Ye pressed his lips together, feeling a bit annoyed but forced to explain: “My dad… arranged for me to experience life here!”
He casually made up an excuse.
Bai Jie awkwardly chuckled: “I thought you had been reassigned…”
Han Ye: “…Once you’ve got your things, hurry back to the department!”
Bai Jie took her things and left in haste.
Lunchtime.
Han Ye didn’t dare to go to the cafeteria and only ordered takeaway.
Rong Ling returned to the lounge, took out a bento from the locker, and heated it in the microwave.
Han Ye stood in the booth all morning, registering every car that entered and exited. When encountering colleagues, he dodged and avoided them, luckily not being recognized.
Being a security guard really wasn’t an easy job!
Throughout the company, this position was arguably the lowest rank!
Anyone and everyone could order him around!
The company leaders who came in and out didn’t recognize him at all; in a bad mood, they would scold him for no reason. Han Ye had a rough morning.
When Rong Ling returned, Han Ye went over, but after much contemplation, he didn’t know how to start the conversation.
Rong Ling treated him like air the entire time, merely eating while filling out some forms.
Next week, he planned to take three days off to complete all the necessary materials for studying abroad.
Han Ye grabbed his takeaway and exchanged a few words with Rong Ling, but felt a persistent coldness from him.
Han Ye was very dissatisfied!
He could clearly sense that Rong Ling didn’t regard him at all!
Despite being just a small security guard, having nothing to his name, why did he not take him seriously?
After finishing his meal and preparing to pack up, Han Ye suddenly sneered: “Rong Ling, do you simply not see me at all!? When I talk to you, you act all high and mighty. Do you still think this is school?”
Rong Ling turned around, his indifferent gaze like he was sizing up a heap of trash.
