Momo felt that Han was being dismissive about celebrating his birthday with him and got mad!
Han muttered, “I’m not unwilling to celebrate my birthday with you!”
Momo narrowed his eyes and gave him a scrutinizing look.
Han explained with almost a pitiable look, “This is the first time Mommy is celebrating my birthday with me! How about next year? We can celebrate together!”
Upon hearing this, Momo’s heart softened.
He was always harsh with words, but soft-hearted.
Especially when he heard such a pitiable tone.
It suddenly occurred to him that Han, who was nearly eight, had never had a proper birthday celebration with Mommy.
With a sigh, Momo said, “I get it! Isn’t it that you want to eat the birthday cake I make? I’ll make it for you tomorrow.”
Upon hearing this, Han clasped his face with his little hands and nodded repeatedly.

After taking a shower, Huo Tingdong came out of the bathroom to find Lin Qi was already lying down in bed.
He sat on the edge of the bed and gently pinched her face. Lin Qi, barely able to keep her eyes open from fatigue, squinted and asked, “Aren’t you sleeping yet?”
Huo Tingdong looked at her sleepy yet endearing face and couldn’t help but lean down and place a gentle kiss on her forehead, “If you’re tired, you go to sleep first.”
Lin Qi suddenly remembered something, propped her eyelids open slightly, and said weakly, “Tomorrow is Han’s birthday, and the day after is Momo’s birthday, and I haven’t had time to prepare gifts yet.”
Huo Tingdong smiled slightly, “What does Momo like?”
Lin Qi said, “Momo likes LEGO; I’ve always given him a set each year.”
Huo Tingdong said, “Alright, I’ll pick you up at noon tomorrow to choose gifts at the mall.”

Huo Tingdong got up and walked out of the bedroom, just as he opened the door, he heard rustling sounds from the kitchen.
With a curious look, he walked to the kitchen and saw Momo busying himself back and forth.
Huo Tingdong approached the kitchen door and knocked lightly.
Momo turned his head and paused his movements, “What?”
Huo Tingdong glanced at the stainless steel bowl Momo was holding, “What are you busy with?”
Momo replied, “Tomorrow is Han’s birthday, and didn’t he say he wanted to eat the cake I make?”
Huo Tingdong, “Hmm, and so?”
Momo said, “I have class tomorrow, and it’ll be too late to make it after school, so I’m getting the prep work done in advance.”
Saying that, he waved his hand at Huo Tingdong, “Go back to sleep! Don’t disturb me!”
He was unmistakably being shooed away by his son!
Huo Tingdong said, “Get it finished quickly and go to bed early.”

Lin Qi sat in front of the computer, having just submitted her report, and yawned wearily.
Han Na came over and said, “Lin Qi, it’s time to eat.”

Han Na said, “Come back early, you’ll get your bonus deducted if you’re late!”
Lin Qi walked to the garage, where Huo Tingdong’s car was parked near the elevator.
She approached, opened the passenger door, and sat down.
Huo Tingdong asked, “We’re going to International Trade, let’s have a meal first, and then pick gifts for Han and Momo.”
Lin Qi felt a bit challenged for a moment, “I don’t know what to pick for Han’s gift, what does he like?”
Huo Tingdong shook his head, “I don’t know.”
Suspecting something was amiss, Lin Qi questioned, “Haven’t you given him a birthday gift before?”
Huo Tingdong replied, “I have, but it seems he hasn’t liked any of them.”
After some thought, Lin Qi said, “Let’s see once we’re at the mall, and pick slowly.”
It seemed unlikely she would make it back in time for the rest of the lunch break today, but it was worth it to select gifts carefully for a birthday that comes only once a year, especially since it was her first time celebrating Han’s birthday, even if it meant a late return and a deduction from her bonus.

Huo Tingdong had made a reservation at a restaurant in advance. After the couple had lunch, they started browsing the stores upstairs.
First, she bought a new LEGO set, then immediately began to worry about what gift to select for Han.
As Lin Qi passed a boutique, she suddenly saw a very exquisite bicycle displayed in the storefront.
She stopped in her tracks and looked at the man beside her.
Huo Tingdong met her gaze, “Do you want to give him a bicycle?”

She took his hand and entered the boutique, looked around, and still preferred the bicycle displayed at the entrance.
“How much is that bicycle?” Lin Qi planned to buy it straight away if the price was right.
The clerk, beaming, said, “Madam, you have good taste! That bicycle is priced at 19,800, and it’s widely praised by our customers!”
Lin Qi managed to keep her composure, though she inwardly gasped, her expression changing slightly.

Everything in the International Trade Mall, from clothes to home appliances, was from international big brands, so a bicycle at this price was normal.
Lin Qi said, “I’ll take that one, then.”
