Qi Lichuan understood what she meant.
What Lin Qi hoped to receive was respect, not as the wife of Huo Tingdong, but as an employee.
The supervisor bought some clothes and returned, approaching Lin Qi politely and handing over the new clothes to her: “Lin Qi, go ahead and change out of those clothes now!”

The supervisor asked: “President Qi, will you handle this through a personal expense claim?”
Qi Lichuan said: “This issue occurred in my department; I’ll take responsibility and claim it.”
The supervisor nodded and hesitated for a while before tentatively asking with concern: “President Qi, how will this matter be dealt with…?”
She usually had a good relationship with Maeve and was afraid that because of this incident, Qi Lichuan might directly fire Maeve.

To Maeve, the supervisor’s proposal sounded acceptable.

The supervisor went into the office and clapped her hands.

Lin Qi said, “I need to leave work with my husband tonight; I don’t have time.”
The supervisor said, “Lin Qi, don’t be like this! How about bringing your husband along? I don’t think there’ll be any objections, right?”
