Chapter 409: 409: Won't Make You Wait Too Long

Chapter 409: Chapter 409: Won’t Make You Wait Too Long

She had always been reserved, and this was the first time she had taken the initiative to say the three words, “I love you.”

The man lowered his head, gently cupped her face, a gentle smile gracing his lips, his eyes filled with doting affection: “How much do you love me?”

Lin Qi said, “I want to be with you, forever and ever, and never be apart…”

She was someone with a slow-warming personality.

Only after some time did she realize that she could no longer live without him.

It was funny, when she thought about it!

After a few months of marriage, she had finally entered the honeymoon stage!

Huo Tingdong tightened his arms and pulled her into his embrace.

“Wife, I love you too.”

He spoke softly, his deep, rich voice, laced with indulgence, sounded like a vintage wine aged over decades—just one sip and you’d find yourself intoxicated.

Lin Qi’s heart pounded wildly.

Such tenderness from him was hers, and hers alone.

Lin Qi nestled contentedly in his arms like a lazy little cat.

She simply hugged him without saying a word.

She wanted to cherish this quiet and peaceful moment, a time that belonged solely to the two of them.

Being in his arms, she felt a deep sense of security. Unable to help herself, she rubbed her face against his chest, as if acting spoiled.

Huo Tingdong gently ruffled her hair. In such rare moments of stillness, his heart quieted as well.

Looking at her, so endearing, so irresistibly charming, everything about her pleased his eye.

Sometimes he thought, how wonderful it would be if he could cradle her in the palm of his hand.

That way, no one could hurt her or covet her.

He wanted to give her the best of everything the world had to offer.

Even the stars in the sky—if she wanted them, he’d find a way to pluck them for her.

But then, he seriously thought about it, and realized—the best thing in the world was already her.

“Wife, have you ever thought about our wedding?”

Huo Tingdong’s sudden question broke the quiet, bringing up the topic.

Lin Qi looked at him with some surprise.

Huo Tingdong added, “What kind of wedding do you want to have?”

Lin Qi asked, “Do you have any ideas yourself?”

Huo Tingdong said, “I do have a few ideas, but everything should ultimately center around what you want.”

Lin Qi: “Centered around me?”

Huo Tingdong: “Yes.”

Men and women think differently.

For women, weddings carry countless romantic fantasies.

She must have lots of ideas.

As for himself, the most vivid vision he had was the moment she would walk toward him, dressed in a beautiful, pure white wedding dress.

Beyond that, he couldn’t imagine what the wedding should look like.

Huo Tingdong prided himself on being devoid of romantic instincts, so it was better to consult her opinion!

Lin Qi said, “I actually don’t care if the ceremony is grand or not, but ever since I was young, I’ve dreamed of wearing a very pure, very beautiful wedding dress—with a big train!”

For many women, one of the greatest dreams about a wedding is the dress.

Sometimes when Lin Qi passed by the display windows of bridal shops and saw the pristine, elegant gowns inside, she would wonder what she’d look like wearing one herself.

She had never worn a wedding dress before.

Lin Qi said, “As for the rest of the wedding, I’ll leave it to you! I’m also excited to see what kind of wedding you’ll give me!”

She smiled as she finished her words, her eyes curving like crescent moons, seeming to hold countless twinkling stars, unbelievably captivating.

Huo Tingdong grasped her hand, planting a soft kiss on her fingertip: “Alright, I promise, I won’t make you wait too long for that day! I’ll give you a grand wedding!”

This was his promise to her.

The next morning.

As soon as Lin Qi woke up and walked into the living room, she saw Momo and Han clinging to Huo Tingdong, begging him to take them to the wildlife zoo.

Han had never been to a wildlife zoo, and as the topic came up, Momo began chattering non-stop, boasting about how Mommy used to take him to the wildlife zoo all the time.

Han was green with envy, so he clung to Huo Tingdong, pestering him to take him there.

Seizing the chance of a rare day off, and hearing his beloved little son make this request, Huo Tingdong naturally agreed.

At 10:00 in the morning.

The family of four arrived at the wildlife zoo.

Lin Qi, in the car, tended to the two little ones, while Huo Tingdong went to buy tickets.

The wildlife zoo offered two ways to tour the park.

One was for visitors to enter on foot or take a small train for sightseeing.

The other allowed them to drive their car directly into the park and explore along designated routes.

With self-driving, they could even get up close to the predator zones and view them from a safe distance.

Huo Tingdong purchased a family self-driving package for four.

Returning to the car with the tickets, he drove straight into the park.

Momo and Han were brimming with excitement.

Although it wasn’t Momo’s first time at the zoo, previously Mommy had taken him on the small train. The route for self-driving was completely different.

On the train, it wasn’t possible to stop midway without permission.

But with self-driving, they could stop wherever they wanted along the route.

“Oh no!”

Midway through the route, Momo suddenly slapped his forehead, exclaiming, “I forgot to bring carrots!”

Curious, Han asked, “Why would you bring carrots? I don’t like eating them.”

Saying this, he proudly rummaged through his little backpack and pulled out a stash of snacks: “But look, I brought lots of snacks!”

Momo replied, “Silly, the carrots aren’t for you! They’re for the animals! On the self-driving route, there are many free-roaming animals. You can stop the car, get out, and feed them.”

Han, startled by this realization, suddenly thought of something and began to tremble: “Are big tigers and big rhinos free-roaming too?”

Momo, deliberately scaring him, said, “Of course! So, you better behave, or if you run into a big tiger or rhino, they might gobble you up in one bite!”

Terrified, Han clung to Momo’s arm: “Okay! I promise I won’t run around!”

Momo couldn’t help but laugh at Han’s trembling reaction: “Scaredy-cat! If you’re naughty, I’ll throw you out of the car and use you as bait for them.”

Han retorted, “I don’t even weigh enough to make a decent snack for them!”

Adding fuel to the fire, Huo Tingdong slyly chimed in: “One child wouldn’t be enough—two would just about do it.”

Emboldened by Daddy’s support, Han proudly said, “If you throw me out, Daddy will throw you out too!”

Momo, raising his eyebrows stubbornly, said with a haughty look, “And if he throws me out, Mommy will kick him out of the car too!”

Lin Qi interjected, “Alright, stop bickering, you two. Don’t worry, in the predator zones, getting out of the car is strictly forbidden! Once, someone got out of the car on their own and was dragged away right at the car door by a tiger—killed on the spot!”

Her story scared Han into complete stillness. He immediately sat bolt upright, not daring to move a muscle!

Momo teased, “Why are you so scared? We’re not even in the predator zone yet! Look, what’s in front of us?”

The car slowed as traffic began to build up ahead.

A few zebras had blocked the road and were leaning against the car windows, licking with their tongues in hopes of being fed.
