Chapter 574: Chapter 574: Conflict
The weather is just right, sunny and clear.
Lin Qi pushed Junjun to a sunny spot, since there was no shade on the lawn and there was a bit of wind. She covered Junjun with a woolen blanket, ruffled his little head: "Why don’t you soak up some sun here?"
It’s only about three meters away from the tent, and the little guy hasn’t had sunshine for quite a while.
More sunbathing can speed up recovery a bit.
Junjun said, "Okay."
Lin Qi picked up Yinyin and returned to the tent.
Soon, Du Shaoheng arrived.
Han exclaimed excitedly, "Momo, let’s go fly kites!"
Momo said, "Okay. There are kites in the car."
Momo and Han put their arms around each other’s shoulders and went back to the car to fetch the kites and string.
Before long, the two brothers returned with the kites.
By then, a lot of people had already gathered on the big lawn.
Many local parents had brought their kids to the lawn to fly kites, and there were also many young people camping with tents on the lawn.
Momo laid the kite on the ground and started preparing the kite string.
A little boy suddenly ran over holding a kite, and his full attention was captured by Momo’s kite.
Momo’s kite was very large and very special.
On the lawn, most children’s kites were bought from roadside stalls, because this big lawn often attracted campers. As such, many shops along the street sold kites, but they all procured them from the same wholesale market with single designs - either Peppa Pig or Bear Big and Bear Two.
But Momo’s kite was homemade. He was very good at drawing, so he bought tools and made his own set, drawing a super beautiful airplane on it.
The little boy gazed at Momo’s kite in envy and asked, "Can I trade my kite with yours?"
Momo said, "Nope."
The little boy was stunned: "Why not?"
He raised his kite and said, "This was bought by my mom, very expensive, costing several hundred bucks."
Han said, "Your mom got swindled."
The little boy said, "Doesn’t matter, we have plenty of money!"
Then he asked again, "How much is your kite, I’ll ask my mom to buy it for me!"
Momo was arranging the kite string and replied, "I made this myself, it’s not for sale."
The little boy was a bit surprised, but still stubbornly said, "What’s the big deal! My kite is worth several hundred, your homemade kite is worthless, so why not give me yours, and I’ll swap mine with yours."
Momo said, "Sorry, I don’t like your kite."
The little boy got annoyed: "You’re stingy!"
Momo found the little kid amusing and chuckled: "Unless, we have a competition. If your kite flies higher than mine, I’ll give you mine."
The little boy said, "Let’s compete!"
He said, "Hurry up. I’ll wait for you over there!"
Momo said, "Oh!"
The little boy raised his kite and walked to a less crowded section in the center of the lawn.
Momo soon finished his preparations too.
He and Han raised the kite and ran toward the central area.
Lin Qi said, "Momo, Han, the wind is getting stronger, be careful."
There was a small hill on the lawn, Lin Qi worried that Momo and Han might be so focused on the kite up in the sky, they’d end up rolling down the hill inadvertently.
Momo said, "Mommy, don’t worry!"
The two little fellows skipped away.
After a short while, Du Shaoheng arrived.
He was carrying a handbag in his hand.
These days, there were a lot of things going on at the company, and he was too busy to get away, so he only came in the afternoon. Originally, he should have reached the hospital after lunch, but halfway there he suddenly remembered Junjun didn’t have his own phone yet, so he detoured to buy Junjun the latest model.
Junjun was a bit surprised when he saw the handbag: "Is this a new phone?"
Du Shaoheng said, "Yes, dad got you a new number. From now on, you can call dad anytime for anything."
Junjun nodded and started unpacking the box.
Lin Qi said, "Junjun’s dad, you made it."
Du Shaoheng nodded politely and smiled. He looked around but didn’t see Momo and Han, and asked, "Where are the other two kids?"
Lin Qi pointed not far away: "Look! Over there!"
In the center of the lawn.
Momo released the kite.
The grand airplane soared into the sky.
Everyone was drawn to the beauty of the airplane.
The plane Momo drew was so realistic that many people thought there was actually an airplane flying in the sky.
But upon closer look, they realized it was just a kite!
The little boy wasn’t very good at controlling kites, plus the kite he bought lacked power stability compared to Momo’s due to the design. Momo had specifically researched how to design a kite to let it fly higher.
This involves the aerodynamics of kites.
Momo had done his homework and ultimately designed this kite, which was beyond the flight capability of most market designs.
This wasn’t due to technical reasons, but design reasons.
The little boy watched as Momo’s kite flew higher and more steadily, feeling both envious and jealous.
He kept yanking his kite, but no matter what, it never flew higher than Momo’s.
The boy got frustrated and shouted at Momo: "You’re cheating!"
Momo said innocently, "How am I cheating?"
The boy exclaimed, "Your kite is an airplane shape, airplane-shaped kites fly higher!"
Momo said, "My kite can fly high no matter what shape."
The boy asked, "How much is your kite? I’ll ask my mom to pay you, sell it to me."
Han, frowning at such a young age showing off extravagance, said, "How rich is your family?"
The boy said, "Very rich! My dad runs businesses, my mom is a corporate manager! We live in a big villa and my dad drives a big Mercedes-Benz!"
Han responded, "Oh."
The boy walked over to Momo: "Sell me your kite."
Momo was controlling the kite string and said, "Move aside."
The wind was strong now, and he worried the little boy might get cut by the kite string as he wandered close, so his tone got impatient.
The little boy got instantly infuriated by his tone and pushed him hard: "How dare you look down on me!"
Momo was caught off guard, toppled onto the lawn, and rolled down the small slope several times.
Han cried out in shock: "Momo..."
He suddenly got angry and shouted at the little boy: "What are you doing!"
The little boy never imagined that the seemingly cute Han would suddenly become so fierce, and he got scared, collapsing to the ground.
