Chapter 212: Chapter 128: Unscrupulous Couple_2
It wasn’t until Chef Wang called, "Mr. Han, your table is ready."
"Okay, I’ll be right there."
Han Lie perked up, his attention snapping back to the present—and Pan Ge was his present.
The little minx had timed her arrival perfectly; Han Lie had only been seated for about five minutes when she gracefully sashayed into the room.
She wore oversized sunglasses and a chic little hat, looking utterly on-trend.
Her gait was steady, her waist swaying subtly, yet the rise and fall of her chest remained enticingly visible.
A warmth stirred in Han Lie’s heart.
When it comes to curves, Xi Luting couldn’t even hold a candle to her!
Having gained a bit more worldly experience, her delicate beauty now possessed an extra touch of allure, tinged with a hint of mature charm.
She was quite captivating.
"Signature pot, snowflake beef, hanging tender, raw beef balls, baby bok choy, fried tofu skin..."
After sitting down, Pan Ge ignored Han Lie completely, immediately rattling off a long list of dishes.
Then, without even a glance at him, she stated coolly, "If you have something to say, wait until I’m full."
Ever the gentleman, Han Lie poured her a cup of tea. With a smile, he said, "Have some water. You look quite thirsty."
WHOOSH. Pan Ge’s composure crumbled.
That single comment had broken through her defenses.
"You! Hmph... Would it kill you to stop being a pervert for once?"
Han Lie spread his hands. "What, suddenly struck dumb? Forgotten that quickly?"
I#%@¥%&@!
Pan Ge’s lips moved, but Han Lie couldn’t decipher a single word—it sounded like she was cursing him out in Magic Capital dialect.
After grinding her teeth for a moment, she seemed to give in to despair. Resignedly, she scooted closer to Han Lie, wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, and with her fingertips, tugged at the corners of his mouth, snapping a couple of selfies.
"What are you doing?"
Han Lie had a bad feeling. Why is she acting a bit like Xi?
"Going public!" Pan Ge retorted with a scoff. "Don’t think you can just deny it and get away scot-free. I’m not hiding today’s photos from anyone, and when I get home, I’m telling my parents everything!"
Han Lie considered it carefully. This shouldn’t be a big issue. Pan Ge and my ’household deity’ have no connection, and besides, Xi Luting is already mentally prepared. The damage won’t be severe; at worst, it’ll be a bit humiliating. As for Panzi... phooey! And as for my future in-laws, I’ll see how they react first. Give it some time, let things cool down. If they’re still supportive, then soon enough I can... cough, cough... Either way, I don’t lose out, right?
My priorities are crystal clear right now, Han Lie thought. Making money and charming women—both are indispensable. It’s just that phase of life, perfectly understandable.
Pan Ge, on the other hand, seemed a little bewildered by Han Lie’s composure. She cast a suspicious glance at him before launching a sudden verbal dart: "Aren’t you the least bit worried about all those other flowers and weeds in your life? Like Xi Luting, Yu Yun, Fang Feifei, and the like?"
"They’re leagues beneath you!"
His declaration thrilled Pan Ge, instantly melting away her lingering irritation.
But then she heard Han Lie add, "You’re all clients, of course. But they ordered the à la carte, while you’ve got the monthly subscription. Naturally, you get priority."
Damn it, I’ve lost my appetite!
Just as Pan Ge was about to shrink away from this scoundrel, he wrapped an arm tightly around her waist, and her entire body went limp.
Overcome with shyness, she became even more feisty, all bravado.
"Let go of me!"
"Be good now. Don’t make me use my mouth."
She immediately fell silent, not daring to struggle further.
Before she left home, she was the queen bee, her word was law; but in front of Han Lie, she was still that little pushover.
"Alright then, just an arm around my waist. But if you dare embarrass me in broad daylight, in front of everyone, I’ll..."
"Hmm?"
"...I’ll cry. Could you bear to see that?"
Heh, you had to admit, Pan Ge’s attitude was incredibly satisfying to a man’s ego!
However, Han Lie genuinely didn’t tease her any further.
If she wants to maintain her dignity, then let her, Han Lie thought. It doesn’t take much effort, or even much money... Serving her soup, mixing her dipping sauce, picking out choice morsels for her, whispering a few intimate words praising her beauty... How hard could it be?
Sure enough, it wasn’t long before the little pushover was cooed into a state of blissful joy, forgetting everything else.
Students eager to learn, take note... Ah, forget it. This is knowledge that can’t be taught, even for a fee.
When they were nearly finished eating, Han Lie finally got to the main topic of the day.
He opened with a shameless gambit.
"I’m your man now, and I’ve been bullied by a bunch of brutes. Are you going to do something about it or not?"
"Bullied? How exactly?"
Pan Ge’s curiosity was instantly piqued. Yesterday, Han Lie hadn’t explained anything clearly. He’d simply mentioned that Dan Zihao and Zhou Ci had led people to his dorm to beat him up. However, he hadn’t seemed to suffer much, and this baffled her.
"Actually, yesterday was a bit of a fluke. I didn’t expect them to be so reckless..."
Han Lie then recounted the previous day’s events with great animation.
When he got to the part about those four imbeciles barging in, only to look up and see a huge ’dead man’ dangling right before their eyes, Pan Ge collapsed with laughter.
She truly collapsed, practically falling into the scoundrel’s arms.
But Han Lie wouldn’t let her be, insisting on lifting her head so they were face to face as he reenacted his own expression from that moment.
"Pfft HAHAHA... HONK HONK HONK HONK HONK..."
Well, I’ll be, Han Lie thought. So every woman, when she’s laughing herself silly, sounds like a honking goose... Another piece of useless knowledge acquired.
But he didn’t let her off the hook.
He maintained the most serious demeanor, using the most precise language and vivid descriptions, to narrate that fantastical adventure.
By the end, Pan Ge felt as if she’d heard a lifetime’s worth of jokes all in one day, even laughing so hard that snot bubbles formed.
