Chapter 166: Up You Go

Chapter 166: 166: Up You Go

"Is that so?" Eden nodded as he looked around. "Then I guess I can just conclude that your lord is just a sick coward."

Damien’s eyes widened in shock. "What are you talking about, you..."

"What’s wrong? It’s true. A coward who can’t even sleep in their own room. A nerdy coward who pretentiously stays around the library to make himself feel smart and better. Pathetic."

Damien was already boiling up in fury. "You! Shut up! You don’t deserve an opinion on him. You don’t know him." He was becoming defensive of Leo, as he always was.

And that was exactly what Eden wanted. It was the perfect push for him to speak.

"Do I need to know more about how pathetic he is? I’m already content knowing this." Eden folded his arms.

"Shut up! He’s not a coward. It’s not his fault that he’s been living with a trauma that won’t let him sleep in his room at all. It’s not his fault that he needs pills to sleep most times, and it’s also not his fault that the library has become his comfortable place that he can actually..."

Damien paused as he placed a hand over his mouth. He was shocked and couldn’t believe that he had just subconsciously spilled everything.

"You!" He now glared at Eden, alert. "What did you do? What spell did you use on me?"

Eden didn’t use any. He had just played with his mind, and it actually worked.

And hearing Damien accuse him of using a spell casually reminded him that he was actually a wizard who could actually use his powers now.

He was still yet to fully get used to that.

And now he figured he could actually use his powers for such things.

"I didn’t use anything," Eden said in his defense. "You just couldn’t keep your mouth shut."

"You—!" Damien was pissed off.

But now Eden used his powers on him. Damien was already vulnerable, and his eyes were whatever he wanted to say lay.

And Eden read through them.

His eyes went purple while he stared right into his eyes, calling on every mind-reading spell he could come up with. And while he stared deep into Damien’s, he read all he needed.

Damien didn’t know much in detail. He only knew the surface-level information. The ones he had just spilled out.

Leo wasn’t one to easily tell anyone anything about him, especially about his private self. So it wasn’t surprising Damien didn’t know the full details, even though he was his most trusted right-hand man.

"Useless," Eden muttered as he blinked, having read through Damien’s eyes. His eyes were back to normal again.

All he could get was the same thing as Damien said.

Leo had some trauma that made it difficult for him to sleep.

He couldn’t sleep in his room at all because it felt "haunted" to him.

He somehow found peace in the library and more peace burying himself in the books and forgetting some reality.

He was on some sort of drug that helped him sleep.

All Eden could add to this was he felt the trauma might have something to do with the death of his parents.

"What did you do to me again?" Damien ran his hand through his eyes.

"Nothing," Eden stared at him. "Now excuse me so I can go meet your lord."

"No," Damien insisted. "Stay from him."

Damien feared that now he had spilled a secret to him, he would use it against Leo. And he didn’t want that to happen to his master.

"Don’t worry. I’m not going to harm him. I want to help him," Eden smiled.

"Help him? How? I don’t trust you. I can never trust someone like you. So stay away from him..." Damien said.

"I’m a wizard. So it means I have powers. I’m sure you can tell. So what makes you think I’m not the best doctor for him?" Eden explained.

Damien hesitated. "You also have the power to use and hurt him. So why should I trust you?"

Eden folded his arms. "And why would I want to harm him?"

"Because he wants to kill you. And you’re the wizard of EL. So..." Damien said.

Eden sighed. "Whatever. I won’t do that. So let me off so I can see your master."

"Never," Damien insisted.

Eden took a deep breath in and out. "Then I guess you leave me with no choices then."

Before Damien could figure out what he meant by that, Eden’s eyes went purple.

It only took a stare and some thought from Eden’s mind, and Damien flew to the ceiling.

His back was glued to the ceiling as he kicked himself to be set free. "Hey! Let me down! Hey!"

Eden casually stared at him up in the ceiling, watching him struggle to get down. But he couldn’t.

Eden smiled, rather impressed by himself. "I can’t believe I’m already getting this good with the powers without even practicing."

He stared at his hands. "Maybe it’s because it’s becoming a part of me. With more practice, I’ll go back to my former glory."

"Hey! Get me down now! I’ll make you pay! Get me down!" Damien yelled from up.

Eden looked up at him. "How noisy," he muttered while staring at him. And with his eyes flashing a shade of purple, Damien’s mouth was glued.

He couldn’t utter a word anymore.

Eden smiled. "That’s more like it," he said as he turned and took off, heading to the library. Still in his robe.

While Damien was left up there, glued to the wall while kicking to set himself free.

All to no avail.

Leo was alone in the library, flipping through the book before him under the candlelight while taking notes.

He was already engrossed in the moment—reading, writing, and briefly drinking from the cup that he was served his medicine with.

But soon he suddenly stopped reading as he stared at the book for a while.

"You can come out now," he said.
