Chapter 160: An Answer? Sure.

Chapter 160: 160: An Answer? Sure.

Leo’s hand moved down to meet Eden’s collar.

He pulled onto Eden’s loose V-shaped collar and adjusted it for him, closing up his chest that had been showing.

"Let’s eat. The food will get cold."

And so Leo began digging into the meal before them.

Eden casually stared at him. He couldn’t help but wonder how his charm still hadn’t gotten to him. He was literally the most impossible among the leads to get.

Eden had to question if Leo was even straight or not.

The novel never said he was fluid or anything like that. The fact that he fell in love with Helen was enough proof that he was straight.

But the fact remained: before even falling in love with Helen, Leo didn’t have any romantic attachments to any girl.

He was always the one advised to meet ladies, to maybe find a bride soon.

Being the oldest among the leads, he was the one expected to have some preparations for marriage or at least to show interest in such matters.

Yet he didn’t have any connections with any ladies at all. He was simply cold and dismissed any girl who approached him with romantic intentions.

He was just that cold when it came to romance.

So it had Eden wondering if he could possibly be bi—or what.

"Sure. The meal," Eden forced a smile as he adjusted his robe. He faced the food before him and began enjoying the meat.

The table was quiet for a while before Leo finally spoke. "So, I believe we know why we’re here. I won’t waste much time, and we’ll get straight to the point."

Eden already knew. He kept eating while he nodded. "Sure, I do."

"I’ve given you a week, which I believe is enough for you to do whatever you had to do, and also to come up with the required answers for today."

Leo stared at Eden, who was still eating. "So let’s not waste each other’s time and get straight to the point."

Eden was still chewing his meat as he nodded. "But isn’t this supposed to be something to officially discuss or something? Why are we keeping it private between us like this? Is that even a moral thing to do?"

His words left Leo confused for a while.

"And why should it be something to officially discuss? I sent you the message privately, and you should already know it’s something of great importance to me. The act of it being private is also vital to me."

Eden now looked up at Leo. Their eyes met as he nodded. "Oh. I see. Is that how much you value this? I’m touched."

"I don’t care if you’re touched or not. And I don’t have much time left to chat. So get straight to the point and let me know your answers to what I asked of you."

Eden nodded. "I understand your point. My answer must be that important to you since it’s something you truly value. That’s probably why you can’t make this an official event. You’d rather keep it private."

Leo and Damien were confused now as they stared at Eden.

Eden added, "Okay. I’ll also help you keep it private and make sure it’s not something anyone finds out about. Since it concerns the two of us, I’ll make sure I keep the secret till my death." He smiled at Leo.

Leo was beyond confused. "And what are you talking about?"

"Your secret."

Leo glared at him for a while, then scoffed. "I don’t have time for any of this. So hurry up and let me know. You already had enough time to think through it, so you shouldn’t have any excuse." He was impatient now.

Eden blinked at him. "You don’t have to be cold about it though. You should be patient while asking for my answer here..."

Leo was slowly losing it. "Do you want me to have your head?"

Eden had a hand over his chin while staring at Leo. "If you kill me, who then is going to provide you with answers?"

"You fool! Are you threatening the Lord of Something? Do you have a death wish?!" Damien was pissed.

But Leo raised a hand to stop him from speaking further. His cold eyes stayed on Eden as he struggled to keep his patience intact.

He had always been good at keeping his patience intact.

"I can still have your head and won’t care about your answers anymore. So don’t push your luck too much," he said.

Eden stared at him and then sighed. "Is that so? Okay then. I’ll give you an answer now and here."

Leo sat there, staring curiously at Eden, waiting to hear the feedback he had to present.

Eden sighed and then said, "Yes. It’s a yes from me."

"......"

Leo and Damien blinked, staring at Eden and then at each other—completely confused.

"And what does ’Yes’ have to do with anything?" Leo asked.

Eden stared at him. "Yes. I said that’s my answer. Aren’t you asking for my hand in marriage? So I said my answer is yes."

"......"

"I know marriage is something of great commitment, and there is a need for public acknowledgment. But since you value my answer so much and want it to be a secret affair between the two of us, I’ll keep it. Just as you said." Eden smiled broadly.

"...."

Leo felt as though he was losing the last ounce of patience he thought he had. He glared at Eden while wondering if killing him would be a better option.

"Are you joking right now?" Leo questioned as Eden burst out into laughter.

It was a laugh that filled the silent dining room. A humor that amused Eden but made the other two annoyed.

Eden completely enjoyed the ride he had taken the two of them on—the miscommunication he had championed at that moment, and the tease he had given Leo, who he was sure wanted to have his head now.
