Chapter 10: Now It’s My Turn to Pursue Her

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Now It’s My Turn to Pursue Her

"The trash can is dirty, you’d better go wash your hands."

The young Ashley Shaw might have felt furious, ashamed, and devastated because of the love letter being read aloud publicly.

But after living again, these things no longer affected her the same way.

She only found it childish.

So after she nonchalantly said those words, she didn’t even bother to look at the girl’s expression, and directly walked away with Ariana Grant.

On the way, after Ariana heard what happened, her face was full of anger and distress.

"How could they do that?!"

"I’m fine, don’t get angry. It’s not worth getting mad over such a trivial matter."

"Trivial?" Ariana was a bit perplexed.

She took a step back and sized up Ashley from head to toe, suddenly extended two fingers.

"Demons and monsters, leave quickly!"

Ashley’s mouth twitched, she swatted Ariana’s hand away.

"What are you doing?"

Ariana rubbed her hand that got smacked.

"Hitting so hard, that’s definitely you."

"?"

"I thought you were possessed! Before, anything concerning that young master was never a small matter to you, now... you don’t even care about the love letter being mocked."

Ashley shrugged indifferently.

"Don’t like him anymore, so naturally I don’t care."

"No, you really don’t like him anymore?"

"Yep."

"Why?"

"Just suddenly felt that guy... is pretty lousy."

"What?"

Ariana once again showed a shocked expression.

This time Ashley was the first to grab Ariana’s hand that was about to "exorcise."

"Don’t worry, no possession."

"Alright then! Not liking him is good too, before you were so humble in front of him, now you can live boldly. By the way, after you left after morning class, someone said you hit Warren in the classroom, is that true?"

Ashley changed the subject, pointing at the mineral water on the shelf.

"Let’s drink this, it’s healthy."

"Ugh, I want Coke!"

"No way, you forgot what the doctor said, you should avoid spicy and cold food now."

"But no, it’s my source of joy..."

Ariana successfully got diverted by Ashley, and they both took the mineral water to the counter to check out.

After they left, two tall figures walked out from behind the last shelf.

Cillian suppressed a laugh and kicked Warren’s shoe.

"Hey, how does it feel to hear someone say you’re pretty lousy?"

Warren expressionlessly tossed the cola in his hand into Cillian’s arms.

"You pay!"

"No way? Didn’t you say you were treating? Are you short on cash, young master?"

"Who told you to have a sharp tongue."

Cillian paid the bill and caught up in a few steps.

He glanced at Warren’s unpleasant expression and asked amusedly, "Hey, weren’t you always annoyed by her? Now that she doesn’t like you anymore and stopped chasing you, why aren’t you happy? Got a masochistic streak?"

Warren paused in his step.

"Who said I’m unhappy? I’m very happy now."

Finally getting rid of that annoying clinger was a great relief in life.

"Really?" Cillian sized Warren up and down.

Warren calmly stared back.

"Okay!" Cillian handed the cola to Warren.

He took a few steps out, suddenly turned back with a serious expression.

"Warren."

"What?"

"Do you really not care about Ashley Shaw?"

"If I cared about her, I’d eat shit standing on my head."

"Alright, you said it."

Cillian turned to leave, but Warren called him back.

"Hey, why do you keep asking that?"

Cillian opened the cola cap with a "pss—" sound of gas escaping.

The cola sprayed out, wetting his sleeve.

But Cillian seemed in a good mood, not minding at all, and took a big gulp.

Warren looked at him like that and joked, "You wouldn’t fancy that girl, would you?"

"I do."

"?" Warren’s expression froze on his face.

"Warren. If you don’t want her, I do."

"..."

"I’ll bite the bullet and call you brother-in-law in the future."

"..."

"Brother-in-law, you gotta help me out. First, tell me, what does she like to eat?"

...

In the classroom of Class One of the Liberal Arts.

The teacher was giving a lecture, and the cicadas outside were making everyone’s head ache.

Warren’s hand was turning the pen slowly, with residual images spinning from the pen’s barrel.

Suddenly, he threw the pen into the trash can.

"Damn!"

He cursed with a plant name.

The teacher was startled, paused while writing, and the chalk broke into two pieces.

She frowned, turning around to cast a warning glance over.

Warren ignored it and directly got up to leave the classroom.

The teacher’s face visibly darkened, but she forced herself to continue the lesson.

Mrs. Prescott had just become the school’s board member.

The principal’s constant reminders, she couldn’t forget.

Besides, she had also just received a call from Aethelgard University today.

Though the entrance exams haven’t even happened yet, they’ve started a recruitment battle.

And the one they’re targeting is Warren.

...

The last class of Class Two of Science was Physical Education.

The teachers at First High were understanding; they didn’t cancel PE even with exams approaching.

Ashley Shaw was sweaty as she returned to the classroom from the field.

On her desk, there was a plastic bag.

It was filled with various snacks.

All imported.

Coincidentally, every single one was something she didn’t like to eat.

It couldn’t be Ariana; Ariana knew what she liked.

Ashley glanced around, asking her classmates.

"Whose is this? Must’ve put it in the wrong place, right?"

No one paid her any attention.

Ever since the love letter incident, the entire Class Two ostracized her, treating her like air.

Even when submitting homework, they didn’t include her; they purposely left it on the teacher’s desk.

Ashley got reprimanded twice in one day, all thanks to her classmates.

But it didn’t affect her studies.

Such isolation was unbearable pain at that age, but for her, the peace was perfect for studying.

She didn’t have to waste time on socializing.

Seeing no one responding to her, she just picked up the bag of snacks and threw it into the trash can at the back of the classroom.

If you don’t know where it came from, don’t eat it.

They taught this in kindergarten.

After throwing away the "trash," she went back to her seat to pack her books and headed out with her backpack.

Outside the teaching building, Ariana was waiting for her.

The two of them had agreed to have dinner together tonight.

Except when they reached the school gate, Ashley saw Warren leaning against the security room, looking very impatient.

"He can’t be waiting for you, can he?" Ariana whispered.

"Impossible, ignore him, don’t pay any attention."

Ashley’s gaze skirted past Warren, pulling Ariana’s arm and heading in the opposite direction from the security room.

Warren over there seemed to perceive them and looked their way.

Then... he took a long stride and came to stand before them.

Around them were curious gazes from classmates.

Ashley had to stop.

Before she could ask what was going on, Warren directly reached out, grabbed her backpack strap, and dragged her out.

"Hey! What are you doing?"

Ariana hurried to catch up.

As he controlled Ashley, who kept struggling, Warren’s eyes swept over to Ariana.

"Family dinner, are you coming too?"

Ariana paused, quickly waved her hand: "No, you guys go ahead."

After saying that, she quickly made her escape.

Ashley gritted her teeth in anger, that coward!

She struggled harder, resulting in Warren exerting more strength to control her.

The difference in strength between genders was something she couldn’t overcome, so she glared at him and asked, "Warren, what do you want?"

Warren spoke disdainfully: "Be quiet, today my dad’s having a dinner to welcome me back, grandpa said you have to come, or do you think I want to wait for you?"
