Chapter 7: He’ll Kill Her Today No Matter What

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: He’ll Kill Her Today No Matter What

When Ashley Shaw got home by bus, she found the villa brightly lit with the servants in a flurry.

She found a moment to ask Mrs. Chase, "Mrs. Chase, what’s happened?"

Mrs. Chase looked anxious.

"The old master suddenly had chest pains, and the lady has gone with him in the ambulance, but we can’t reach the eldest young master now..."

"What?" Ashley Shaw was taken aback, "How is Grandpa Prescott doing now?"

"We don’t know the specifics, but the doctors who came with the ambulance said the situation seems very dangerous and told the lady to be prepared mentally."

At this, Mrs. Chase clung to her sleeve as if grasping at a last straw.

"Ashley, do you know where the eldest young master is? The old master only has this one grandson, if something really happens, he can’t possibly miss seeing his grandson one last time."

"What about the phone? Is anyone answering?"

"It’s turned off."

Ashley Shaw tried her best to stay calm.

In her previous life, there wasn’t such an emergency, she didn’t know if it was the butterfly effect her rebirth brought.

If it is, she will never forgive herself.

"Ashley, think fast, where would the eldest young master be?"

Ashley Shaw’s mind raced.

Where was Warren Prescott’s favorite hangout during his student days?

Suddenly, she lifted her gaze to Mrs. Chase, "Is the family driver here? I know a place where Warren Prescott might be."

Mrs. Chase didn’t delay and immediately called the driver to take Ashley Shaw there.

Twenty minutes later, the car stopped in front of Celestial Billiards.

As soon as she got out of the car, Ashley Shaw raced inside.

Her arrival elicited jeering from some delinquent youths at the entrance.

"Yo, isn’t this the good student Ashley Shaw? Why’re you at a place like this?"

Ashley Shaw recognized them as the boys from the neighboring class.

She walked up, grabbing one of the blondes by the collar.

"Is Warren Prescott here!"

The blonde was stunned, then grinned maliciously.

"What’s this? Chasing after him all the way here, huh, little maid?"

"Speak!" Ashley Shaw glared fiercely.

Intimidated by her anger, the guy stammered, "Warren is inside."

Having gotten what she wanted, Ashley Shaw released his collar and made a dash up the stairs.

Her hurried departure left the boys scratching their heads.

"Has Ashley Shaw gone mad?"

"Hey, Old Huang, what’s up with you? Scared of a girl?"

"Bah! Who’s scared? I just don’t want to bully girls. Ever heard of cherishing the fairer sex?"

The group soon resumed fooling around.

Ashley Shaw couldn’t care less about their reactions; she dashed upstairs.

If Grandpa Prescott really is in critical condition, at the very least, she needs to let him see Warren one last time.

Grandpa Prescott is the only one in the Prescott Family who treats her well.

...

The air on the second floor was thick with the smell of tobacco.

Ashley Shaw’s eyes scanned rapidly and sure enough, she saw Warren Prescott playing pool next to a table.

Warren Prescott wore a loose school uniform short sleeve, with the jacket tied around his waist.

His long fingers gripped the pool cue, eyes parallel with the cue.

His hoodlum friends gathered behind him, chattering noisily.

A few girls, looking too mature for their age, gazed at Warren with adoring eyes.

"If Warren sinks this shot, he’ll clear the table."

"Tsk, Cillian, you should grab the break next time you play against Warren, otherwise you won’t even have a chance to shoot."

The teased boy didn’t mind, chuckling lightly.

"Losing to Warren isn’t disgraceful."

At that moment, Warren found his angle and applied just the right force to the cue, but as soon as he struck, someone forcefully grabbed his arm.

The cue veered off course, the cue ball colliding with the black ball.

"Thud."

The black ball went into the pocket.

The opponent won.

The room fell silent, then erupted into laughter.

"Hey! Warren, were you letting Cillian win?"

"You’re letting him win a bit too much, aren’t you?"

Warren’s expression instantly turned cold as he straightened up to face the girl holding his arm.

In the next moment, he recognized her.

It was Ashley Shaw.

Her chest was heaving violently, showing she had run up here.

Warren’s face was full of annoyance.

"Ashley Shaw, do you have a death wish?" The few simple words were squeezed out from his throat.

Anyone could see Warren’s low mood now, those who had been making jokes instantly fell silent.

The laughter was replaced with a look of sympathy.

Sympathy towards Ashley Shaw.

But most were enjoying the spectacle.

Some people who don’t know their place will have bad luck!

Ashley Shaw couldn’t be bothered by those around her; she had only one goal on her mind, to get Warren to the hospital.

"Just come with me now, I’ll explain later."

She grabbed Warren’s wrist and began to pull him downstairs.

But she had just taken a step when Warren used his strength, flipping her back around.

The next second, Ashley felt the world spin and found herself pressed onto the pool table by Warren.

Her waist hit a pool ball, causing a sharp pain.

She tried to get up, but Warren bent over her and trapped her in place.

With his tall frame surrounding her, she couldn’t move.

This position, and this setting, sparked Ashley’s sense of shame to the extreme, flushing her face.

Especially seeing those around her gaze with odd looks, she was nearly dying of embarrassment and anger.

Warren, too much!

"Get off me!"

She almost shouted that sentence.

Since her rebirth, she thought Warren could no longer sway her emotions, but she had clearly underestimated his shamelessness.

He did it on purpose!

Purposely to shame her in such a humiliating pose, just like last night.

Yet Warren didn’t stand up; instead, he got even closer, nearly face to face with her.

"Ashley Shaw, you made me lose this game, how do you plan to settle it?"

"Warren Prescott! You have no shame!"

"Oh? Is it me who has no shame, or is it you and your mother? Even after death, you want our family to owe your family a favor. Tell me, how should this debt be settled?"

Ashley Wyatt’s eyes welled up uncontrollably.

More than the shame, she was brimming with fury now.

"Warren Prescott, you’ll regret treating me like this!"

"Then tell me why I should regret it?"

A guy who had just come upstairs caught sight of the scene and laughed, "Whoa, Warren, playing this big?"

Ashley Shaw became even angrier.

Back in school, she had already been furious hearing them joke about some brother-sister taboo, let alone now.

She suddenly focused her strength in her leg and then kicked up...

"Hiss—"

Warren took a sharp breath, recoiling, body doubling over.

That spot on a man is more fragile than an egg.

Ashley Shaw took the chance to get off the table, quickly putting a safe distance between them.

"I told you, you’ll regret treating me like this."

Warren’s eyes blazed with fury.

"Ashley, Shaw!"

He was definitely going to kill her today!
