Chapter 133: Chapter 133: The Dead Girl’s Looks Are Undeniable
Originally, the live stream was supposed to take place at the Prescott Group’s Spectator division building, but despite all their planning, they couldn’t predict that the cable in that area would be severed an hour before the stream due to road repairs, causing a blackout throughout the entire district.
Since the stream time was set and announced three days ago, countless fans were waiting, and the time couldn’t be changed.
In utter helplessness, Warren Prescott decided to move the stream to an e-sports hotel.
The choice of this e-sports hotel was simply because it was opened by the grandson of one of Elder Prescott’s old friends, and Warren had a good relationship with him.
So, Warren gave him a heads-up and came over.
Just by coincidence, he ran into Ashley Shaw here.
The room they chose was the one the e-sports hotel owner kept for himself.
It was a large room with ten computers.
Warren pushed open the door with a blank expression and asked, "How does it feel? Are the computers usable?"
They all answered in unison, "They’re usable, and the internet speed is fast."
"Alright, then I’ll call the staff to come over."
Warren said as he took out his phone to make a call.
One of the e-sports players couldn’t help but ask, "Warren, how’s your wife doing? Shouldn’t you check on her first?"
Warren’s lips involuntarily twitched.
"She’s fine, sent her back home."
"That’s good, lucky we chose this e-sports hotel, otherwise who knows what would have happened."
Warren’s dark eyes dimmed for a moment but quickly returned to normal.
"You guys keep getting used to the computers."
After saying that, he dialed a series of numbers.
"It’s usable here, bring your equipment over."
The others noticed that Warren seemed not to like them bringing up Ashley, so they started focusing on the pre-stream preparations.
...
Meanwhile, Ashley Shaw returned to the shop.
As she entered, Claire Xavier quickly walked up to her and asked, "Why did you take so long to come back? I was worried something happened to you and was just about to send someone to find you based on your location."
Ashley had already thought of an excuse on her way back.
"I bumped into Warren and chatted for a bit."
Just then, Assistant Lowell’s car turned around, honked twice, signaling that he was leaving first.
Ashley saw and waved to Assistant Lowell.
Claire recognized the car and immediately relaxed.
"So it was Warren who placed the order. That guy, if he wants cake, why spend money? I could just send some freshly made to his place."
Claire didn’t give Warren a good face because of Cillian, but now that she knew her brother probably had no chance, her hostility towards Warren disappeared.
At least Warren called her Ms. Grant, and she wouldn’t charge him for a cake.
Ashley didn’t explain and changed the subject.
"Ms. Grant, I might not come in a few days, should we hire someone in advance?"
Claire’s train of thought was indeed diverted.
"No need for now. After the new shop’s opening period, the orders have decreased. And once you leave, there will be even fewer delivery orders."
Just as Ashley was about to speak, the deputy manager came out with a phone.
"Hey everyone, look, Stardust Team is live streaming on Spectator Live."
"Stardust Team? Is that the e-sports team that just won the championship?"
The other female shopkeeper’s eyes instantly lit up, apart from Ashley.
"Is it the Stardust Team where every member is really handsome?"
The deputy manager shrugged, "I can’t tell if they’re handsome, but they’re really strong. I just didn’t expect Stardust Team to sign with Spectator. Spectator Live only started gaining traction these past two months, a new platform that actually managed to sign Stardust Team, must have cost them a lot."
"I don’t understand, but I’m all for looks. Is it Spectator Live? I’ll download it then." The female staff happily downloaded the Spectator Live app on her phone.
Once downloaded, the Stardust Team’s live stream interface immediately popped up on the homepage.
The live room was currently adjusting the cameras.
The female staff’s eyes lit up once more.
"It really is them! They’re all so handsome... Wow, the guy at the back seems even more handsome. Oh wait, isn’t the one standing behind them that guy?"
"Which one?" Claire joined the lively discussion and took a look.
The next second, Claire spat out two words, "Warren?"
"That’s him! When did he become an e-sports player?"
Hearing Warren’s name made Ashley momentarily pause, and she instinctively glanced at the phone screen.
Sure enough, she saw Warren’s face behind several e-sports players.
He seemed to be talking to a staff member beside him, with a serious expression and slightly furrowed brows that drew quite a bit of attention.
The female staff had turned on the comments.
Ashley’s eyesight had recovered to 5.0, so she clearly saw many comments discussing Warren in the densely packed comment section.
"Wow, he’s so handsome! I came for Stardust Team’s looks, but how did someone even more handsome show up?"
"The one above, that’s a staff member."
"The staff’s really handsome! I’ve decided, I’ll be watching all my live streams on Spectator."
"Three minutes, I want all the info on this handsome guy!"
Claire suddenly said after swiping her phone, "I remember now, Spectator Live is a platform created by the Prescott Group. I heard the power went out at Spectator Live’s company earlier today, so they moved the stream to another place at the last minute."
"No wonder they’re still adjusting the cameras at this hour. They said the match would start at six." The deputy manager paused and said, "If it’s a platform from the Prescott Group, then I understand why Stardust Team would sign with Spectator."
Ashley, feeling a bit guilty, slowly looked away.
No wonder Warren showed up at that e-sports hotel.
Probably because of her, the live stream progress got delayed.
Ashley didn’t concern herself with the live stream anymore and turned to help with cleaning.
But when she got home, Ariana Grant brought up Spectator Live too.
"Spectator Live is going to blow up, yesterday the number of logins exceeded that of the best-performing live platform currently."
"And, I saw Warren, too. A lot of people stopped watching the game and focused on Warren instead."
"Tsk, Warren’s character isn’t great, but there’s no denying his good looks."
"However... he did block acid for you last time, so I guess he’s not that bad after all."
Ashley gave her a look, "Didn’t you hate Warren? What’s with the sudden change? Handsome is justice?"
"What handsome is justice? I’m just being honest, I hated him because he was always targeting you, but after he saved you, I don’t have a reason to anymore. But rest assured, the moment you want, I can go back to hating him!"
