Chapter 210: Help!

Chapter 210: Chapter 210: Help!

Jillian Lynch moved through the water like an agile mermaid, her slender body gliding freely.

Ariana Grant couldn’t help but look down at her own chubby figure, feeling a wave of indescribable inferiority crash over her like the splashes in the pool.

She let out a sigh.

This swimming pool really wasn’t meant for someone like her, someone who is overweight. She shouldn’t have listened to Mrs. Chase and come here.

She rarely felt insecure about her body since she had earned every bit of her size by her own effort bite by bite.

But at this moment, she truly experienced the trouble of being overweight.

For instance, when swimming, she couldn’t even find a swimsuit that would fit her.

The so-called plus-size clothing sold in stores was designed for slightly plump girls, not for someone genuinely overweight like her. As a result, she hadn’t been in the water yet, let alone learned how to swim.

Ariana Grant lost interest immediately, wringing out her wet foot while turning to leave.

But Jillian Lynch’s voice suddenly came from the pool.

"Hey! Fat sister!"

Ariana’s steps halted as she turned her head towards the pool with furrowed brows.

She saw that Jillian had noticed her at some point and was swimming towards the edge of the pool.

Jillian quickly reached the ladder and walked towards Ariana.

Water droplets rolled down her smooth skin, resembling a scene of a beauty emerging from water.

However, this young beauty wore an enigmatic smile, a sharp and cold edge hidden within it, seemingly capable of piercing the deepest vulnerability in one’s heart.

Stopping two steps away from Ariana, Jillian said,

"Fat sister, when did you come over? Oh dear, why are you so soaked? You look like a drowned rat."

Before Ariana could respond, Jillian covered her mouth with feigned surprise.

"Could it be that I splashed you when I dived just now? I’m so sorry."

Ariana could see through the facade of politeness, recognizing the pride underlying Jillian’s words.

She suddenly realized that Jillian hadn’t been careless but had done it on purpose!

She had deliberately dived in her direction, causing a large splash that drenched her.

Ariana clenched her fists.

"You rude little brat! Is this the kind of upbringing your family gives you? Did your mom make you learn to swim so you could splash water onto others?"

Jillian sneered with disdain.

"What right does a poor kid like you have to comment on my upbringing? Always talking about other people’s parents—does that mean your upbringing is good? But then again, Ashley Shaw is rude, and so are you. No wonder you two are such good friends, right? Fat sister? Or... Piggy sister?"

Jillian was brimming with unresolved anger, and now she had caught Ashley Shaw’s friend alone without anyone else around—how could she pass up this opportunity?

If she couldn’t take it out on Ashley Shaw, she sure could deal with this fat girl.

Indeed, she felt much better after venting her anger.

Ariana’s face instantly darkened.

"Apologize!"

"Apologize for what? Which part of what I said was wrong? You are fat, so calling you ’fat sister’ isn’t wrong, is it?"

"I’m asking you to apologize for saying Ashley is rude."

Ariana, much like Ashley, could criticize her friend but wouldn’t allow others to do so.

Not a single word!

If you insult Ashley, you better be prepared for a fight!

And who’s talking about rudeness—the truly rude one here is Jillian Lynch herself.

Jillian laughed lightly, her eyes filled with contempt.

"I just said it offhand, so why the rush? Your friendship is really something admirable. Could this be what they call the camaraderie of the poor?"

Ariana wasn’t one for patience. She grabbed the frilled neckline of Jillian’s swimsuit.

"I’ll give you one last chance, apologize!"

Ariana’s eyes seemed to be ablaze, startling Jillian for a moment.

But Jillian quickly regained her composure and provocatively said, "What if I don’t apologize? What can you do about it? Hit me? Besides, what I said wasn’t out of line. If you hit me for it, I guarantee you’ll be the one regretting it!"

Ariana narrowed her eyes dangerously.

"Did you forget the saying about those with nothing to lose not fearing those who have everything? Today, I’m going to teach you how to behave!"

Having said that, she released Jillian’s frilled neckline and instead grabbed her hair.

"Ah—"

Ariana was robust and naturally strong.

Jillian shrieked, feeling as if Ariana was about to rip her scalp off.

"You b*tch! You actually dare to hit me! You must have a death wish!"

She reached out with her long nails to scratch Ariana’s face.

Ariana instinctively turned her head to dodge Jillian’s hand, unintentionally loosening her grip on Jillian’s hair.

However, Ariana’s evasion gave Jillian an opening.

Jillian lifted her long leg and kicked Ariana in the abdomen.

She put all her strength into that kick.

"Ugh..."

Ariana groaned in pain, doubling over and clutching her abdomen, her face contorted in agony.

Jillian rubbed her head, her scalp still stinging terribly, but her face was full of smugness.

"See what happens when you grab my hair? I told you, you’re the only one who’ll suffer!"

Ariana gritted her teeth furiously.

Damn it, she couldn’t believe she was being bested by this little brat, it was a disgrace to her size!

"You’re dead!"

Ignoring the pain, Ariana lunged at Jillian.

Jillian, much lighter than Ariana, was more agile. Besides, Ariana’s abdomen was still throbbing with pain, slowing her down.

Jillian easily dodged Ariana’s advance.

Ariana saw this and swung around to attack Jillian again.

This time, Jillian reacted even quicker, sidestepping behind Ariana once more.

Before Ariana could turn around, Jillian took the opportunity to grab her hair and pull her backward.

The ground around the pool was slippery, and with that pull, Ariana stumbled backward, unable to stop herself.

Behind her was the swimming pool, and she couldn’t swim.

Ariana scrambled to steady herself, but Jillian approached from the front, and with a light but forceful push on her shoulder—

"Splash!"

A huge splash erupted in the pool.

Claudia Jennings had just rebuilt the pool, and now its water was two meters deep.

To someone who couldn’t swim, these two meters might as well have been two hundred.

"Help, help..."

Surrounded by water, Ariana panicked instantly, flailing and struggling as she slapped the water’s surface.

"Help, I can’t swim..."

But every time she opened her mouth, endless pool water poured into her mouth and nose.

Her body was already covered in various injuries, with one particular wound still stitched and unhealed.

The wound stung fiercely, but even more lethal was the choking sensation from the water.
